CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

Miss Rosé headed upstairs. She knocked gently on Damian's door and waited before she came in. Like Adam, she had witnessed some of Damian's office sexcapades. She was one herself. She heard a gruff 'come in' and she proceeded to enter. Damian was at his desk. His eyes were fixed on his laptop. He didn't need to look up to know who it was. "Miss Rosé." "Mr. Richards" "Been a while since I saw you." Damian looked up at her and closed his laptop. Miss Rosé's voice became light and foxy and her stare was seductive. "And I wonder whose fault that is?" Damian felt his blood pressure rise. He beckoned on her to come and she walked sexily up to him. She sat astride him and looked into his deep green eyes. "And congratulations on the event. You danced wonderfully and made an amazing presentation." He put a finger to her chin and pulled her face close. "Don't talk about the dancing. It was just necessary frivolity. Now, shut up," he said in a husky dominating whisper. "Yes Sir," she r

CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO

Damian got back from a great day at work. Everything was just perfect for him. He came in and was in a significantly better mood. The household was still tense but not as much. He called for his dinner to be brought upstairs and he headed to his room. After a long, warm bath he lay on his bed. He was at peace but then, the thought of Lilian hit his mind. Was she still alive in that room? Had she by any chance committed suicide? Damian waved the thought from his head. She was way too stubborn to have such a thought. He soon heard a heavy knock on his door. To his surprise, it was Antonio. He came in holding the dinner tray. Damian sat up. Antonio had never brought breakfast to him by himself."Mr. Richards, your dinner is ready.""Yes. I can see that. Why didn't you ask one of the maids to bring it?""They weren't immediately available. I suppose they were getting ready to go home. As I brought it up here, I didn't meet one and she volunteered to take it to you but I decided to do it my

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

Lilian woke up from her sleep. She didn't feel any jabbing pains anymore but she was terribly weak. She asked the maid to please bring her some water to drink. The maid left. The doctor's instructions were that she was to drink lukewarm if she got thirsty. Lilian desperately craved cool water but after drinking shower water for three days, anything else was way better. She was left alone for a few minutes and she thought about poor Antonio. He was probably lying helpless in bed and his wife was beside herself with worry. She somehow blamed herself for all this. If she had not attempted an escape, Damian would not have locked her up and Antonio wouldn't have had a heart attack. As she thought, tears came to her eyes. Soon she heard a knock and a click and she immediately dried her puffy eyes. The maid was back with the water. She looked at the clock, it was well past 2 pm. Soon the maid left again for her lunch break and Lilian was alone again. She closed her eyes and hoped that Antonio

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Lilian woke up with a start. She had a better night's sleep than she had the previous nights. She looked at her clock. It was past 8. Wow. She had really slept in late. She tried to stand up but she was still very weak. She decided that the best thing for her to do at the moment was rest. Soon she heard a cheery knock on her door. It was Gwen."Morning Lilian.""Hey, Gwen. Are you supposed to be in today?" She didn't really know Gwen personally before now but she knew her face well enough to know that she wasn't on duty on Thursdays."Nope I'm not, but I thought I'd come and stay with you. You still look weak and pale."Lilian smiled. Gwen was really sweet."And guess what?" She was blushing like a schoolgirl now. Lilian could tell she had been busy. "I took your advice and came clean with my boyfriend about my preferences. We had a stellar night."Lilian couldn't help but smile some more. She looked so radiant and jumpy and was blushing like a cherry."I'm happy for you," was all she

CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

It was a little past 4 pm and the sun wasn't in full glare. They walked but not towards the front gate. They hadn't even left the compound. They had walked for quite a while but there was nothing except trees and flowers in sight. Lilian knew that the compound was big but she didn't expect it to be this huge. They walked silently side by side. Lilian was happy that Damian was quiet. His voice was the last thing that she wanted to hear. As the evening came, the birds came to rest on the trees and sang sweet songs. Lilian basked in the beauty of it all. The evening air was fresh and crisp and the flowers were in full bloom. Soon the scent of fruits could be smelt and they reminded her of Sean and his fruit salad. Soon they passed a strawberry bush, heavy with fruit. Lilian was starving. She couldn't eat proper food and fruits could only do so much for her tummy. She picked one and was about to put it in her mouth when she stopped herself. Had she lost it? The fruit hadn't been washed yet

CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN

The room was dark and inky black. She couldn't make out anything in the room. She dared not to move. She listened to hear Damian's voice but instead, there was a low groaning sound. She listened harder and more intently. She thought she could make out her name from the groans. Was Damian dreaming about her? She hoped she was giving him nightmares. The groaning was more pronounced now and she groped in the darkness for the light switch and flick it on. A scream of shock immediately escaped her lips. Damian was in bed but was far from asleep. In fact, he was sitting on the edge with his hard phallus in his hand and there was a tiny white mess on the floor. Lilian wished she could bleach her mind or give herself amnesia for just this moment.Damian looked at her, first in horror and then in anger. He pulled his shoulder up and looked at her. Lilian could have sworn that she saw a red flash in Damian's deep green eyes."What... are... you... doing...here?" His words came out with so much v

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

Mrs. Russo was pleasantly surprised. Everything was perfect. With Antonio, every day felt like Valentine's Day, her birthday, and Christmas. He was the most amazing husband. Antonio helped her with her chair as she sat down at the table. He was such a gentleman. He poured a glass of champagne and was about to pour Lilian one but she stopped him."No thanks, Antonio. The doctor asked me to stay away from any strong food or drink."Antonio was a bit upset but he cheered up and went over to a fridge. He brought a bottle of water and poured it out for Lilian and smiled.Antonio sat down and raised his glass in a toast."A toast, to my darling Anna, my love and flower. I pray that she stays by me always and I shall continue to shower her in love for as long as I live. Cheers.""Cheers," said Lilian with a big smile. Anna was blushing too hard to speak. She simply raised her glass and gave a polite nod. The feast commenced. It was beautiful. Lilian always had her meals by herself but in the

CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

Chapter 39Damian was in his room. He could hear light giggling noises coming from Lilian's room. He sat back in his chair and listened. Lilian had disobeyed his very direct order. If she had been home earlier then she wouldn't have been mugged. What did she expect? That she could just waltz back home late in a rich neighborhood? He exhaled and leaned back in his chair. He would handle her in due time but he had more important things to take care of. He finished up his wine and went to bed. He could still hear the giggles as his eyes closed. The next morning came quietly. Lilian woke up before Gwen. There was a smarting pain in her back and all over her body. She managed to get to her feet and enter the restroom. The sound of the door closing woke Gwen. She had drool running down her cheek.Immediately Damian barged in; he was already dressed and ready to leave for work. Gwen stood up straight and greeted him to which he would obviously not reply. His eyes darted to the empty bed and w

CHAPTER FORTY

The days passed by and every day, Lilian got stronger and healthier. She was almost back to her normal self. Dr. Rockwell came by and checked her and confirmed her ready to go back to eating normally but asked her to go easy on herself. He was also very impressed by Gwen's first aid skills and congratulated her on her admission into her registered nursing program. Soon the time for Gwen to leave drew near. Lilian was quite disheartened. Now she would have to go back to being a snob to the other maids but she was truly happy for Gwen.Gwen came into Lilian's room to say her final goodbyes. She didn't seem sad about leaving the Richards Mansion. She hugged Lilian tight."I'm going to miss you, Lily.""Don't get mushy with me," said Lilian playfully.Gwen pulled away and slipped something into her hand. Lilian opened it and found that it was a piece of paper with her phone number on it."Call me when you can. Okay?"Lilian nodded and they hugged tightly one last time. Finally, Gwen left.
