ASHER Although all I wanted to do was to stop Sophia, to sit her down and hit her with all the questions I had in mind, I couldn't. I just watched her leave while I shoved the questions down my throat. The questions were only going to bring up the past. And the past, they say, should always remain in the past. When I was sure she was no longer close to the dinning room, I walked out. My sleep had eluded me as I got in my room. All my attempts to close my eyes and wander off prove futile. Even the white noise, which had been my saving grace after Adeline left, didn't seem to work that night. ASHER After Sophia had left, the boys and I decided to take a stroll around the palace.
