ARIEL’S POVI lay awake in Melvin’s arms but he had slowly drifted into sleep as we cuddled in bed. We lay down in the spooning position with Melvin being the bigger spoon.It had been a little over an hour since I spoke to Valerie over the phone. MELVIN’S POVI returned to the castle downcast and defeated. I was broken in more ways than a fight with my father would have caused me.I stayed holed up in my quarters for a couple of days without coming out or showing my face to anyone.I felt ashamed.
