Chapter Fifty-one: consequences

Chapter Fifty-OneLaila POVIt took about two weeks before the incident with my ‘supposed’ sister and hunter happened, we found out that Maya was actually related to my adoptive parents but was sent away to boarding school because of her illicit behavior towards not only me but also some kids in the area. Apparently, she found herself in the hands of hunters who trained her into one of them using her anger as a tool. She turned out to be one of their high rank officers and her mission was simple, to bring back the white wolf, that was me. She was going to almost succeed if it wasn’t for what happened then. Now I stood in front of the mirror as I inspected myself in it one last time. I was going to give a report to the elders what happened, no one mentioned it to me until later when I was going to get discharged. Atlas told me that it wasn't necessary and that I could not give a report but from the look of things, the elders were already seeing me like a nuisance and someone who can

Chapter Fifty-Two: Hidden stories

Chapter Fifty-TwoLaila pov“Up!!” the loud voice echoed and the lights came on attacking my eyes immediately. I turned to my side but regreted it immediately when my body collided to the ground. I winced as the pain shot out through my entire body, i rubbed my elbows and glared at the smaller bed i was now sleeping on.“Get up or you’ll be doing twenty laps in the next hour.” I glanced towards the door to find who it was. I had expected Ayesha to be in charge of our training but it looked like they had another plan as a man of about six two stands, with the light coming from behind him it is difficult to see his face or take in his features properly but it was enough to see his bulky frame.Kevin and Estelle were already on there feet like they didn’t have a miserable night like i did. I rose to my feet and watched as the man stepped further inside the small space, now the light had dimmed away and his sharp dark eyes pierced on me. “You must be the new girl, Laila.” he said, i igno

Chapter Fifty-Three: Meditations

Chapter Fifty-ThreeAtlas povI watched her move away from the field after smiling at something Derek said. My eyes followed her until she disappeared into the training house. Derek noticed me and walked over.“She’s pretty interesting.” he said while brushing his hair back. “Fierce, although I think she's holding back on a lot of things in her head.”“Thats Laila for you.”“Is that why you two had me pulled off the field? To come train her?” he asked and we walked together.Derek was one of our finest fighters who was out on special missions, with the incident with the hunters, Ares and I thought it would be best to have someone like him train her. “She needs more of an iron fists, someone who is very experienced with facing Hunters- someone like you.” I said, and he was also the only person we could trust to get the job done.“You have Ayesha, she can do what I can.” When he mentioned Ayesha I noticed the strain in his voice.“Well, we know that but she's needed someplace else. Chapter Fifty-Four: Last stops

Chapter Fifty-FourLaila Pov“What are you doing here?” I asked, staring down at him with my eyes narrowed at him. He didn't budge, only stared back at me and watched me. It was an intense staring competition to which I failed and blinked away and moved away from him.I turned around where I tried to keep a straight face, how long had he been here?“You seemed to be quite lost in your meditation.” He said instead and rose to his feet. I turned back to him again and brushed the sides of my leggings. I opened my mouth to ask him again but refrained myself from doing so, Ares made it clear days back that we weren’t supposed to talk to each other like friends or acquaintances.I nodded and turned to leave when he grabbed my wrist making me turn back to him.“You’re giving me the cold shoulder.” He said firmly and I tugged my hands but he wouldn’t let his grip slip up. I laughed and smacked my lips together.“I am not.” “Then why aren’t you talking to me?” his brows narrowed, he was not

Chapter Fifty-Five: Waterfall

Chapter Fifty-FiveAres POVI didn’t expect her to reach for the bowl at the same time i did and when she recoiled it angered me that she pulled back, it was like she was avoiding me and when she rose from where she sat without looking at me i knew that she was. I watched her disappear and the door closed behind her.“Ares, give her some slack.” Atlas said and i turned to him, he was picking out the pieces in the bowl in front of him.“I’m not doing anything.” I grumbled and dropped my fork down. He was right, i was trying to throw a fit for what happened.“Ares-” I ignored him and rose to my feet and walked towards the door.“Go easy on her.” The rest of his words died away when i closed the door behind me.It was clear that i didn’t want to go easy on her, not now not ever. With her pressed against me as i held her against the walls, i could perceive her, that scent that made her to stand out in the crowd, hte same that made me want he rlike no other. It was captivating, enchanting,

Chapter Fifty-Six: Come to me

Chapter Fifty-sixLaila POVSome part of me had thought he was going to bring both Ares and Atlas but to my surprise it was just Ayesha that was here and Derek didn’t seem to be happy that she was there.“What are you doing here?” He fired away showing his disdain for her presence. Ayesha on the other hand doesn’t hide back on his harsh words.“I’m here because i was asked to stop asking like you can change anything about it.” She hissed and i watched Derek close his eyes and rubbed his forehead in pure irritation. Whatever had happened between these two in the past caused a major drifting off, I was curious but it would be insane to ask right in the heat of the moment.“You said you were out on a special assignment, you’re not supposed to be here.” He started with his hands on his hips.“For someone who spends most of his time in the field the term flexibility seems far from your vocab. There was a bit of changes and I'm here now.” The underlying tone was ‘I am here now, deal with it

Chapter Fifty-Seven: It's not safe

Chapter Fifty-SevenLaila POVAtlas words ringed in my head as the lady assigned to me opened the door to one of the rooms, she ushered me inside and followed right after. The room was relatively large with a single large window in the middle right, the round bed had been fixed against the wall, the covers were red and the duvet white. The room smelled like wood and fresh lilies, there was a desk opposite the wall which had candles in glass casing, they were already lit and the fragrance spread through out the room. The painitng was of chocolate brown and had a bit of wood on the wall to decor, there was several linning of animal horns on the walls, it looked like something a hunter would fancy, apart from that, the room didn’t have much inside and was bare. I stood in teh middle of the room, not sure what they want me to do.“This ‘s we’re you’be staying.” This was the first time i heard the girl speak, she had a weird intonation but i could hear her clearly. Chapter Fifty-Eight: Look at her and i'll gore your eyes out

Chapter Fifty-EigthLaila povWhat was he doing here? I sinked further into the water to hide my body.“Alpha-” Aurora stammered and fell backwards as her eyes widened at the sight of her Alpha.“She’s keeping me company.” I said and stared at Alpha Zick who had his eyes on me, he was shirtless and even when normal girls would swoon at his chiseled chest and toned body, i didn’t have that giddy feeling, instead i wanted to puke at the sight of him. “Is she? She seems a bit chatty.” He said while his eyes held mine. His hooded eyes skimmed over my face and if the waters weren’t covering my upperbody i was sure he was staring at my breasts. “Not at all, i asked her to stay. Besides we’re just having girl talk.” I answered making sure my vocie didn’t give off the lie. “If you say so- “ He looked at Aurora. “Then leave us-”“No.” My word came out rushed. “No, i’ll like her to stay with me.”“But i need privacy with you-” he said firmly, he reminded me of a child who was being persisten

Chapter Fifty-Nine: Pleasure and Promises

Chapter Fifty-NineAtlas povThat dress. Why was she in that dress? My mouth turned dried when she entered and her eyes skimmed over the table, my hands clutched under the table as she walked towards me. My eyes were on her face but i itched to see the rest of her, when she settled down next to me my hands found way to her bare thighs, her skin was a bit cold under my hot touch, even though she shifted she made no move to take my hands away. When i found out that i wasn’t the only one who was moved by what she saw my blood raged within and so i set out the warning right after Zick made the bold statement.“Great, anyone that dares to look at her like she’s some form of entertainment will have no eyes to see for the rest of their lives.” I had walked past the doors and waited for her, the sound of her heels echoed and when the doors closed behind her, i turned to face her.“At-” the rest of her words died down when i grabbed her hands and pushed her against the wall.“What were you t

Chapter Sixty: Warnings and lost friends

Chapter SixtyLaila POV“Atlas-” I pleaded and surprisingly he relaxed against my touch. He was mad that Alpha Zick had crossed the line but the way he looked showed that he wouldn’t hold back on making him regret doing something so travail.“Fine. I won’t do anything rash, i will not-” it sounded like he was chanting a mantra to himself. He sighed and turned to me, he eyed me carefully before they met with my eyes. He still had that hooded look, the same as the one he had in his eyes when he teased me.I was still recovering from the high and it was difficult with him looking at me like that. In that moment i inspected his room, it was different from mine, the same size but it had not much of the homely feel to it, there was no scented candles or bed with red covering- bed- there was just a single bed. I swallowed, if i was going to stay here with him that means we were going to share the bed.It shouldn’t be that hard Laila, it’s just a small bed. I told myself. Hands wrapped itsel
