Archer's POVThe voices of pack warriors flooded the pack the moment we stepped out of the bushes. I smiled internally at the victorious grins on their faces as they chanted our age long victory song. I couldn't bring myself to smile externally, not after what I had witnessed. The image of Casey sneaking out of the pack hunted my journey down to the pack. I couldn't begin to understand why she had done what she had done. I didn't even know what it was exactly that she was doing. Casey knew if she gets caught she could be killed or worse made a rogue. Why was she risking so much and for what reason exactly? I tried to think of something reasonable, anything that will help me know her possible whereabout. Maybe I should have followed her. Hell, I shouldn't have hesitated but if I had walked after her it would have raised suspicion among the crowd of warriors. Casey was being careless and I couldn't pretend and say her attitude wasn't pissing me off because it was. It was annoying and

Star's POVI couldn't help the smile that played on my lips as I soaked a rag in a bucket of water. I was done scrubbing and it was time to wipe off the dirt. My eyes strayed to Archer again. He smiled at me but I could trace the tiredness in his eyes. He really was one of the sweetest persons I had encountered all my life. I smiled to myself as I continued cleaning, recalling how I had always wanted a male figure like this in my life. Someone who cared about me regardless of my inadequacies. Someone who stood the gap of a protector. Archer knew he couldn't stop me from obeying the alpha or it would only lead in me suffering more punishment. So instead of arguing with me he saw things from my perspective and chose to stay here with me. "Are you free tonight?" Archer had his eyes on me, they stared with a flame in them that I didn't understand. "No, I was assigned night duty by the head maid." I responded, shifting the bucket across the floor, while I crawled on my knees to clean up

Casey's POV The sun had long set and the sky was now a deep shade of navy blue, with a few scattered stars glimmering above. The journey had been harder than I expected this time. I had to be extra careful and sure no one was following me. Back then at the border it almost felt as though Archer had noticed my presence but when he walked off with the other warriors I felt a deep sense of calm within me. I walked down the deserted ground, my hands felt cold out in the open so I stuffed them deep inside the thick soil as I walked on, my thoughts a jumbled mess. Ever since I received that letter, I had been so eager to meet with him again but as I neared my destination I couldn't help but feel a bit reluctant. I nudged aside leaves and short branches as I tried to catch a wider view of the lake resting beyond the forest. The lake easily reflected the bright moon that had found space amidst the intertwined branches of various trees and poured its light into a portion of the forest.

Alpha Farrell's POV I lifted my head from my study when I heard light footsteps. "Alpha Farrell." The tall guard greeted with a bow. His dark eyes had a trait of uncertainty in them as he caught my offended gaze. "The door wasn't locked alpha, so I thought..." "Why are you here?" I waved in dismissal, my eyes finding the amount needed to fund the reconstruction of a part of our border that had suddenly collapsed. "You asked me to watch Star's every movement alpha." He explained, confusion drowning his face. "So why are you here?" I sneered, irritated by his sluggishness. "I... you...I brought update." He took a step back and I blinked back my anger. How could he have gotten an update so soon? "I told you not to come if you don't see them together." I was pissed off. Why couldn't he just follow simple instructions? "But I did. That's why I am here alpha. I saw them together last night." "You saw them together last night." My words were cursed with sluggish surprise.

Star's POV After Casey walked into Beta Archer's room, I turned to leave but froze in the hallway. Two guards made their way through the back door. I frowned in disappointment when they began to talk. The female chuckled at something the man said and I waited for them to walk past but I was once again disappointed when they both stood at opposite ends of the entrance. "I don't see why we have to guard the back of the pack house." The female groaned. "Tell that to your alpha." The man responded with a scoff. I thought about walking past them but I couldn't risk it, not when Alpha Farrell had his eyes on me. I now knew someone was informing the alpha of my every movement so I had to be careful. There was no way I could take the front exit though. I would be dragged straight to the maid overseer and I knew my punishment would be served by the alpha himself. I glanced at the hallway. If I returned, I was almost certain Beta Archer would help me out with dispersing these guards.
