Casey's POV The sun had long set and the sky was now a deep shade of navy blue, with a few scattered stars glimmering above. The journey had been harder than I expected this time. I had to be extra careful and sure no one was following me. Back then at the border it almost felt as though Archer had noticed my presence but when he walked off with the other warriors I felt a deep sense of calm within me. I walked down the deserted ground, my hands felt cold out in the open so I stuffed them deep inside the thick soil as I walked on, my thoughts a jumbled mess. Ever since I received that letter, I had been so eager to meet with him again but as I neared my destination I couldn't help but feel a bit reluctant. I nudged aside leaves and short branches as I tried to catch a wider view of the lake resting beyond the forest.
