You can't push me around anymore

Chapter 101Alexa's POV“Don't cry, Don't cry, Don't cry,” I chant as I furiously wipe away the tears that are falling freely down my cheeks. I promised myself I won't ever cry in front of the Alpha ever again. I won't cry because of him. But these stupid tears won't just stop falling. “I love you,” I chuckle humorlessly when I remember his words. Love? Does he know what that word means? He has shown me nothing but hatred ever since I came into this pack, and now all of a sudden, he loves me. What did he think? That I will happily run into his outstretched arms? What a joke!I was good. I know I was good. I showed everyone kindness and love, but what did I get in return? Betrayal, pain, sadness, hurt, and more pain. I'm done being nice. I'm done worrying about other people's feelings apart from my own. It's good he said he was going to help me take my revenge. That's all I want from him. I don't want his love. The time I wanted his affection and acknowledgment has now passed. The onl

Advice for a friend

Chapter 102Alpha Kai's POV“Alpha, there are some files you need to sign, and we still haven't discussed the…,”“I'm not in the mood. Leave,” I mutter with my eyes closed, leaning on my chair.“But, we have to discuss the war. They might attack….,”“I said I am not in the mood. Can't I have a break?” I said as I suddenly sat up, my fists meeting with my desk. The chief looks up from the files he is holding in shock. “Pardon me, but is something wrong? You've never refused issues regarding the pack before,” he said, sitting on the chair in front of me with a worried look on his face.I sigh, running my hand through my hair.“I'm exhausted. I don't think I'm in the right frame of mind to discuss anything regarding war,” I reply.“What happened? Is something wrong?” he asks curiously. I entwine my hands and placed them below my chin, using my elbows as support on the table. “Is it something I can help with?” he inquires incredulously.I stare at him intently with a blank expression on

Bickering couple

Chapter 103Alpha Kai's POV“I want every little detail about him. Leave no stone unturned,” I said to him.“Yes Alpha,” he replies.I suddenly stopped walking. I backtrack.“Is something wrong?” the chief asks.“It's Alexa,” I reply excitedly. She has been avoiding me, and now I finally catch a glimpse of her. It's making me feel so rhapsodic.“Where?” he asks, peering toward where I'm currently looking at.“Can't you see her? She brightens up the whole place,” I said to him.“Really?” he inquires curiously. I still when notice some maids stealing glances at us. I clear my throat, quickly recollecting myself.“You must have really sharp eyes,” he said with an amused smile. I ignore him.“You may leave now. I will walk on my own,” I said in a serious tone. “Absolutely. I will get to what you ordered right away,” he replies.“Good luck to your friend,” he pats me on the back and leaves with a shake of his head. I stared at his retreating for a while before looking towards Alexa, who w

Negotiation?

Chapter 104Alpha Kai's POV“What is it?” I ask curiously as Alexa gently removes her hand from mine. He looks and sounds quite serious.“The Alpha of the Greenland pack is here with some of his people. They want to negotiate,” he replies.“Negotiate?” I ask with a scowl. He hums. The audacity to come here for negotiation after he sent his people to ambush me.“Let's go,” I said, moving towards him. I halt when I see Alexa following me. I turned around to look at her.“Where are you going?” I asked her.“Where you are going,” she replies curtly.“No, you can't come,” I said firmly.“And why not?” she retorts with a frown.“It's dangerous. We are meeting with an enemy. You might get hurt,” I explain for her own safety. I would not want her to get caught in the crossfire.“I can take care of myself just fine,” she mutters, trying to walk past Ace. He grabs her hand.“Chaos might break out, and it will get bloody,” he warns. She turns her head towards him.“I've seen my own fair share of

Negotiation is over!

Chapter 105Alpha Kai's POVIf I was coming along with Ace, I would never have bothered with the guards, but Alexa came along with us. I trust in her abilities completely, but I just can't take that risk of endangering her and end up regretting it.His face fell, but he quickly masks it with a cold smile. “You are starting to get pathetic. We are only negotiating, and you brought all your guards. Have you lost your bravery? Are you starting to get scared?” he taunts. Before I could speak, Alexa spoke up.“And you are so pathetic and cowardly enough to send your guards to attack from behind without coming yourself. You are so pathetic that you want a pack that, in your own words is being run by 'little boys'. You are so pathetic that you want a pack that has already flourished. Why not just build up your own pack and stop this unnecessary noise,” I watch as Morey's face turns gradually darker. “So don't you talk about being pathetic, else I will be forced to reveal the fact that your t

Still friends?

Chapter 106Alexa's POVI sigh, hurriedly walking towards my chambers. Finally able to get the Alpha off my back. He has been pestering and teasing me after the Alpha of the Greenland pack and his minions left.I catch sight of someone pacing around the front of my chambers. I walk towards the person in slow, careful strides.“Ace?” I called out in surprise. He turns towards me.“What a nice surprise,” I mutter. He had been ignoring me for a while. Suddenly seeing him in front of my chambers is indeed surprising.“Can we talk?” he asks calmly.“Of course. Do come in,” I reply, opening the doors. He steps in and I follow right behind him. I sit awkwardly on my bed, wondering what it is he wants to talk about. This is a little uncomfortable. I've never had to hold myself back when speaking to him, but now it feels like I'm walking on eggshells around him, so I don't end up saying the wrong thing. I watch him in silence for a while.“I…,” we both started at the same time.“You can go fir

Good or bad news?

Chapter 107Alexa's POV“Luna, you have to eat something. You haven't eaten anything since this morning,” Kira said worriedly.I lay on my bed, panting slightly.“I can't keep anything down, Kira,” I mutter weakly. Whenever I eat, I feel a metallic taste devour my taste buds and my hunger dies down. The constant need to urinate had me consuming less liquid.“You have to try. Here, eat this,” she replies, holding out a plate to me. Immediately I caught a whiff of the scent, I ran into the bathroom and emptied the entire content of my stomach. My stomach clenches painfully. I sit on the floor, panting heavily. Kira rushes in and helps me up as we walk back to the room. This has been going on since the previous evening. “Did you eat anything that could have caused your sickness?” she asks nervously, looking confused.“I don't know,” I croak, my throat feeling dry and sore. I grab my head which is throbbing painfully in my hands. I can't seem to remember anything I ate that could have ca

Finally, confronts Ace

Chapter 108Alpha Kai's POVI'm so happy that I'm barely controlling myself so that I would not end up scaring Alexa. I'm going to be a father. But Alexa does not look quite happy.“What's wrong?” I ask nervously.“I just was not expecting this,” she replies.“We both were not expecting this. But I'm glad this happened. Aren't you?” I ask incredulously.“How can I be? Have you seen us? We don't have any love or trust between us. My life is messed up. I still have a lot of things I have to do. How are we going to raise a child like this?” she asks, looking stressed and frustrated.I understand how she feels. I was also not expecting a child so soon. I had wanted to win over her love and trust, then, after the war, help her retake what was taken away from her before thinking of starting up a family. But I just could not help myself, and I had sex with her without precaution.I take hold of her hands again.“I know I've treated you terribly in the past and there's nothing I can do or say

Pure rage

Chapter 109Ace's POVI stare at Kai's shocked expression nonchalantly. He asked the question so he should be expecting an answer.“So you love her?” he mutters, gazing at me intently. My eyes meet his gaze without looking away.“I never said anything like that. I was just asking you a question,” I reply. “Speak clearly. Don't play games with me, did something happen that I don't know of?” he asks. I sigh.“We have a war coming up. You should concentrate on that,” I mutter, turning my back and walking away. There's no need to say it in words. He must have already figured out what I meant.I walk to my office dejectedly. It's been a while since I told Alexa that we should stay away from each other, and we haven't seen each since then. We agreed to remain friends, but who am I jesting, I can't remain just friends with her. I've fallen for her too deeply to do that.If only Kai didn't fall for her too, we wouldn't be here right now. I get to my office door. I push it open and step insid

Elope with me

Chapter 110Ace's POV“You had better be saying the truth. If you are lying, so you can get to me, you will not live to see the sunset,” I threaten, staring darkly at her. Deep down, I was really hoping that all that she just said was nothing but a lie.She crosses her arms in front of her with a sigh.“Why would I lie? What can I possibly gain from that? I heard the doctor telling them about the news this morning. It's a fact, and you threatening me won't change anything,” she replies with a smirk.Alexa is with a child? Kai's child? How can that happen? My heart starts palpitating as my hands tremble. “What are you going to do now? Wait until the child is born, so he can call you Uncle Ace as you watch Alexa and Kai living happily with many more children. Are you going to continue being the second option? Second in command to your brother and now second to Alexa? Are you going to be able to live with yourself knowing you never fought for the woman you love and that you've lost her?
