Grey clenched his hands into a fist, holding in the swirl of emotion that threatened to surface inside of him. "Don't move," he said, as he slowly approached her. The pack members and the guests stood, watching in reverence as they wondered how Grey was going to get the viper off her back.Vivian smiled in joy when she saw the serpent on Maya. The end of the lowlife omega. I just can't wait to see her lying dead on the floor, she thought, still smiling. The serpent slowly crept around her neck, and the hairs at the back of her neck stood still in fear. Maya gulped hard, knowing that she would not able to withstand this slithering serpent on her, but, if she moves just a little bit, the fangs of this poisonous snake were be buried d

Did you not see what happened out there, my dear?" He inquired, and Riley stared at her. "Those serpents did not slither into this place on their own. They were planted here. I'm sure other people do not want them married either," he stated out the facts.

All the guests in the pack house retired back to their various territorial abodes. The omegas were cleaning up the living room that was infected with stench of dead serpents. The night was not over yet, and Maya was standing by the window of Grey's bedroom, which was now officially hers too, staring out into the dark sky, with her elbow propped up on the window pavement, and her hand underneath her chin. Looking at the twinkling stars in the grey sky, her body barely seen in the dark room, with a dim light illuminating the room, she was like a silhouette princess inside a high tower in distress. She had a long pastel pink nightdress on, her mind far away, and lost into the night just like she was.The door to the bedroom opened, revealing an already changed Grey. He was no longer dressed in his wedding attire, but in a grey flannel pants, and shirtless to his w

Maya gasped at the impact of his tongue as he suckled from her breast, running his tongue around her thrusting nipple. She moaned as every inch of her body craved for his touch. She had no fair knowledge of what he was doing to her, but she liked it.Pleasures, sensations, and feelings built inside of her and it was like a volcano ready to erupt. He stood up and took off his pants and she was appalled by his hardened member. He saw the look on her face, and raised a brow. "Don't act like you haven't seen a man's nudity before," he said to her. She has in fact seen a naked male before and it was Killian, but with the body of a god she was seeing before her, she was appalled by the size of his elongated piece of meat he possessed in between his legs. He saw the fear in her eyes as he lay on her. He kissed her to

The morning rays filtered through the window and the repeated knock on the door stirred Maya up from her sleep."Yes?" She asked in a tired voice."Luna.." the voice of Gwen came through the door. Maya sat up on the bed, and groaned inwardly. "It's opened," she said as she covered her nudity with the covers of the bed.The door opened, and Gwen walked in. "Good morning, Luna," she greeted with curtsey."Morning, Gwen," Maya responded as she stifled a yawn with the back of her hand."The alpha sent me to ask you if you needed anything," she stated her reason for being in the room."Oh, where is he?" Maya inquired of his whereabout

Chapter 56

The pack house was as silent as a graveyard until Elder John spoke. "Take it easy, alpha. What if it was an outsider?" He asked. "What impertinent question is this, Elder?" He asked, keeping his tone as calm as possible. But, he was infuriated by the dumb question asked by John. "An outsider does not have the impudence to come in here and do this. No outsider was recorded by the sentinels before the wedding. What happened last night was done by an insider, and there is no disputing that," Grey said, and turned back to face the pack members. "Whoever committed that degradation of last night should own up to it by tomorrow or else..." He said, his eyes spitting fire, and his tone venomous, as he stared at them one after the other. "Dismiss," he waved his hand, and the pack members dispersed, each of them thoughts racing. Only the elders were still present, including Zing, Jayden and the gamma chief, Hillard. Vivian shrugged as she placed her hands in the

Chapter 57

Maya walked into the room, and Grey was standing by the window. His back was turned against hers until he heard her close the door. Maya leaned on the closed door with a sigh, as Grey looked at her. "Grey..." She began to speak but he cut her short. "Why did you go against my wish?" He demanded. She moved away from the door. "It is a pack tradition, and it seems there's no escaping it," she said. "To hell with that!" Grey's tone levitated. "I was against it, and you should have respected that," he said angrily. She stared at him. "I don't have to answer to you," she replied, and attempted to walk away from him. He grabbed her arm, and pulled her back roughly. "This should be the last time you'll attempt to walk out on me," he said, his tone dangerously low. "Do you know what you've gotten yourself into?" He asked her in anger. "It's nothing that I can't handle," she replied with a defiant chin. He let go of her infuriated as he lifted his hands mid air in annoyance. "What the h

Maya got back into the kitchen and began to dish out the Creole gumbo she had prepared, into small deep ceramic plates. The omegas were to serve themselves and the rest of the pack after she was done.Gwen opened the kitchen door. "The elders are here, including the alpha and the beta," Gwen told her, and Maya inhaled."Okay, I think I'm good to go," she replied."Um, Vivian is at the table too," Gwen told her with a sorry look on her face.Maya braced up. "It's fine. I'll just dish out for one more," she responded with a nervous smile. After dishing out for Vivian, she walked out of the kitchen and into dining room.

His change in demeanor took everyone aback, and the atmosphere in the dining room was tensed, and was silent as a graveyard. He stared at them one after the other, his eyes daring them to utter one more word. They contemplated on what was going on in his mind, what he would say, and it killed them the more when his eyes did the talking. His eyes accusing each of the elders of having a hand in what was going on at the moment. This was one of the moments Grey's silence was greatly feared. When a man who said only a few words was silent, they knew it was perilous. He has been provoked."I sat here without saying a word, watching you all bash your Luna on a failed test, and I did not react," he said, his anger was on a thin line that was about to snap. "What I would not tolerate is your disrespect to her. Not only did you deem it fit to accuse her, you all disregar

Gwen turned to walk out of the pack house when she bumped into Grey. "Alpha," she shuddered. "I'm so sorry, alpha. I did not see you coming," she stuttered apologetically. He waved her aside and was about to leave when he noticed the plate in her hand. "What are you holding?" He asked her."Oh," she exclaimed in realization. "The Luna wanted me to have a taste of the gumbo she prepared if it was fit to be served to the elders and everyone else," she explained with a bit of tremor in her voice."Let me have a look," Grey said to her, and she handed the plate to him. He took a little from it and tasted it. His eyes widened in surprise but he immediately masked it from Gwen. He handed the plate to her and turned to leave, but stopped, having a double thought. "Gwen?" He said.
