Chapter 61

Arturo: I wrapped my arm around my wife as the two of us entered an Italian restaurant that I rented for the two of us for the afternoon. The bookings on the restaurant were initially fully booked, but seeing my name and the money that I put, the manager didn’t think twice before choosing to accept allowing us to book the place for the next five hours. He didn’t even mind refunding his customers double the prices of their initial bookings as compensation. “Where are we going, Arturo?” Sienna asked, and I smiled, taking her hand in mine, intertwining our fingers. “The place is literally empty. We are the only ones here.” “I am aware.” I said, smiling at her and she frowned. “I rented the place for us for the day.” “You’re being serious right now?” She asked, making me chuckle before bringing her knuckle to my lips. I kissed it gently and she smiled as her cheeks reddened. “Yes,” I answered, wrapping my arm around her once again as I guided her toward the one table that was set

Sienna: I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips at the fact that my husband wanted to start a family with me. It was something that I wouldn’t have imagined before. But the way he looked at me told me that he was being completely honest. I ran my fingers through my hair untangling it before I brushed it. The fact that I knew that we still needed to find out who killed my father didn’t slip my mind. The man died at Arturo’s club, and that fact alone was disturbing. I didn’t even understand what he was doing at the club. The man wasn’t invited here, Arturo would have at least known about it, but judging by the fact that he was there when it wasn’t even working hours, and that Arturo wasn’t there, I couldn’t understand what was going on. Marcus’s eyes meeting mine played in my mind. The man who was a stranger to me was my brother. The two of us didn’t even know one another and yet, it seemed like we were supposed to. The fact that he looked familiar didn’t even escape my

Arturo:I walked out of the house to find Donatello waiting for me in the car.The two of us had to go to the club to investigate what happened. It was not something that I planned to let go of. I knew that Sienna would be waiting to hear about what happened, and though she didn't mention it I knew that she was thankful for what I was doing.“How is she?” Donatello asked, knowing that my wife was more broken than she let out. It upset me to see that she hid her pain. And though I understood why she was used to doing so, I didn't like it.“She is better, though I don’t really know if she is being as honest as I would like her to be about this. It is something that upset me to see that she didn’t trust me enough to tell me how she really felt at times, but I couldn’t blame her. The two of us have had enough conflicts in the short period that we have been married to just stop being together, and all of them seemed to come from me.The thing was, it killed me inside to know that she was i

Chapter 64

Sienna:I smiled as I entered the room to find Ayla standing in front of her children’s crib, purring at them. I purred in response, making her jump in surprise, and smiling, I gave her a gentle and assuring nod.“My apologies, I didn’t mean to scare you.” I said, and she lowered her eyes to the ground. “I am sorry, I was not aware of your presence, Luna, I was a bit distracted with the kids that I did not notice you arriving.” She said, and I nodded in assurance. “You needn’t worry, Ayla. I came to check on you and the kids as I have been a bit too busy to do so lately.” I said, and she smiled. She took a step back, silently asking me to approach her kids; however, I stayed still and simply watched from a distance. I couldn’t help but recall the incident between us, and knowing that she might still be upset that I had forced the nurses to take her kids to the incubator, I didn’t know how she would react. Therefore, I chose to keep my distance.“You are still upset with me.” She st

Chapter 65

Arturo:I frowned when I entered the house as an uneasy feeling settled in my chest. The smell of blood filled my nostrils, and the thing was, I didn’t even know whose blood it was.Donatello frowned, and following the scent, we walked toward the garden to find blood in front of one of the trees. The smell of my wife’s shampoo filled my nostrils and I frowned before shaking my head. I didn’t wait for Donatello to comment before I ran toward the bedroom, hoping to find her asleep only for my heart to drop when I realized that her bed wasn’t even slept on.“Alpha?” Donatello asked, frowning in confusion before I shook my head in confusion. She wouldn’t have left the pack. I knew that she would have called me if that happened.“Check all the security cameras,” I said, holding my ground as I felt my ground shake under me. The last thing that I expected was to find that my wife wasn’t here when I came back. The fact that she didn’t call me before she went to bed was confusing enough to m

Chapter 66

Sienna:My heart raced against my ribcage as the vision of my father being slaughtered played in my head.Flashback:“Do you really believe that you are worthy of being Alpha when it is me who killed your Alpha to begin with?” He asked, glaring daggers at me as I woke up. The smell of piss, vomit, and blood filled my nostrils as I tried focusing my blurry vision on him despite the headache that I was having. The man couldn’t be serious about what he was doing. He couldn’t be seriously challenging my husband using his own wife for his own advantage. He had me tied to a chair as he glared daggers at me. My heart raced against my ribcage, and I couldn’t help but fear what he would be doing to me if this proceeded. I knew that things were not going to be ending well, especially if Arturo heard of this right now. The smell of dead bodies had goosebumps rising over my body, making my heart race as I tried fighting the fear that was growing in my system.“You killed your own father?” I asked

Chapter 67

Arturo: I watched as the nurses examined my wife in her sleep for any injuries or signs of abuse. Thankfully, neither one of her injuries gave out any signs of sexual assault. Though I wouldn’t say that I liked the fact that she was as injured as she was to begin with. The man had beat her up and I knew that it would take her a while to snap out of the morphine and drug effect that he had made her both inhale and injured in her system. The fact that it happened to begin with annoyed me more than I was able to let out; however, I knew to stay calm in front of the nurses as they worked. The last thing that I needed was for them to make any mistakes out of panic or fear of my anger. The woman, my wife, needed me to be supportive and calm, and knowing that her wolf could feel my every emotion, I knew to calm my own wolf down. “She would need to rest for a while, Alpha. Her vitals are all normal, and aside from bruises and scratches, there aren’t any broken bones or teeth. Her wolf ma

Marcus: “Why did you let her go back to him? You do realize that they both will come back for you, and that will not be good, Marcus.” Mom said, looking me dead in the eye as she tried understanding whatever I had in mind. The woman didn’t know that I wasn’t as stupid as she believed that I was. “I know that she and her husband are going to come for me, as you may know, I am the one asking for it.” I said, and she frowned in confusion, trying to process what I was saying. “I want Arturo to come against me, as you may know, being the Alpha of Alphas does not come without a price, and this is something that I want both he and his wife to pay for.” “You are playing a dangerous game, Marcus. The man is a Lycan and could have you killed in seconds. It doesn’t matter whether or not you are a hybrid against him.” She said, and I raised an eyebrow. “Had I followed what you have been telling me, mother, I would still be in hiding while my ‘father’, the man who has never been there for me,

Sienna:I was quiet as I tried to think of the right words to answer the nurse. The thing was, I didn’t even know how I was feeling. My wolf was in more pain than she has ever been in, and now she has reached to the point of shutting me off, and that was something that killed me more than ever.I knew that there were days where she would shut me off as she healed, but this time, I knew that it was different. Something was different about how she was acting, and that was something that I couldn’t let go of.“I am tired,” I said, and she nodded. She put her hand on my face, checking my fever and I moved away, not wanting her to touch me. The fact that I knew that Arturo was watching me, and that was something that I didn’t like, especially since I knew that he was seeing me in one of my most vulnerable states.“I need to check on you, Luna Sienna, but you can be assured that I will not hurt you.” The nurse said, trying to extend her hands to my face. I moved away, not allowing her to d

Arturo:“You don’t have to stay by my side the whole day, Arturo.” Sienna said, raising herself to look at me. I nodded and gave her a gentle smile, knowing that she was still upset with everything that happened. The fact that the sun was setting and that she was unable to shift was something that neither one of us could miss. I knew that she was not opening up about it, but I also knew that it was hurting her a lot more than she could have ever thought that it would. The anger and the pain that she must have been feeling would have killed another man, and that was something that I couldn’t easily ignore or let go of. “I know, Sienna, and I am not staying because I HAVE to, I am doing it because I want to. There is a fine difference between both words.” I said, sitting on the edge of the bed which she was laying on.I knew that there were no broken bones, that was something that I was thankful for, but she needed all the rest that she could get. I picked up the ointment that was on t
