Summer’s POV I rushed into the hospital in disbelief at what had just happened and what I had committed to. The young girl tackles me, hugging my thighs, crying, “Thank you for saving me.” As I struggle to loosen her grip on me, Elizabeth comes up to me with a cup of coffee. “I was curious why this child is searching for me and who had sent her.” Elizabeth says, looking at me. “I’ll explain later. After I speak with Alpha Jackson,” is the only response that feels right without lying to her. I know she wouldn’t let me go. But there are children at risk. I leave her with the girl as I scurry off to find Alpha Jackson. When I find Alpha Jackson, he’s sitting quietly with Mrs. Clayton.
