Suddenly lost in twin jade oceans, Briar was rendered speechless, snapping her mouth shut at once. Across, the hall, a shorter, dark haired girl, with silver eyes saw Briar’s reaction, and understood what was happening here and text Alyssa. Text Message From: K. To: Alyssa Smythe: ‘Get to Rei’s locker!! New girl has “Eyes” for him. She might be the One!’ She shoved her phone back in her bag and prepared to watch the show! “I am so sorry. Rei wasn’t kidding about meeting her after every class, inwardly smiling. She childishly wondered if he was looking at no one but her when he focused his stare on her, but reality smacked her in the face, once again for not minding her surroundings. Alyssa popped up seemingly from out of nowhere, right in front of Rei, smiling and whispering apologies, Briar called them “Sweet Little Lies”. They result in one of two ways, pain or heartbreak. Rei’s eyes flew open, instantly aware that Kitsune, Briar’s hidden wolf had pushed back to let him know she was almost ready to emerge. He had roughly a month to prepare for it. This morning’s coffee date was the first step in many baby steps to ensure Briar was strong enough to handle the emergence of Kitsune and to understand what was happening to her. We don’t know who is in there.” Rei yelled into his phone. “Calm down, brother. Turn right at the next intersection, I’ll stay in front. 'See you shortly'.” Artemis gave Rei the code, meaning he was going to be the bait, leaving Rei to give chase. “Here we go.” Rei turned down the road Artemis told him to, parked his Jeep and ran on foot until he was behind a building.
