Chapter 11

Wesley’s POV Just as I had suspected, Valerie was the exact girl Tyler and father had been looking for. I had no idea how I was able to figure that out considering the fact she used her glamour to hide her face from every other person, but I was quite smart and could easily see beyond the facade. I went through those files and saw everything father had about her, I realized April’s real name was Arya but Valerie did not change hers. Quite risky for her, but I guess she thought the glamour was enough to keep them safe. Besides, Valerie was quite a popular name and since we have some hybrids living in the pack with us, it wouldn’t be easy to notice her. Then I came up with something Wade thought wasn’t right and foolish, but I was desperate and this was the only way to change a little about myself. It was quite risky and he was already mad at me for using this as an opportunity to make her do something she wouldn’t want to do, I was selfish and stupid, yes I know. But let me be, maybe

Valerie’s POV I heaved out a small sigh as I did the finishing makeup touches on my face. It wasn’t an extravagant one that’ll make me look like a different person, but nice enough to enhance my beauty and facial features. April was sitting on the bed with a small mirror in her hand, mashing red lipstick over her lips, giggling with self admiration. I smiled, turning to face the mirror once more, the usual question repeating in my head. Was I doing the right thing? It’s been three weeks since I agreed to Wesley's deal to reveal to the whole pack that I was his mate. I did my research, and it turned out he wasn’t lying or trying to lure me into some kind of trap, he was a good guy. I did not hear that from the people though, he was mostly hated by all for no reason. Even though there was one, it was the most stupid. Grandma also explained that it was because he had been unable to shift into his wolf after the first shift. His father hated him and made sure to spite him even in front

Chapter 13

I held back the sigh of relief I wanted to let out when I realized that wouldn't be possible, not through my glamor. Never possible! But when she kept staring at me, I was beginning to doubt myself. I stared around the yard helplessly, hoping to see Wesley around when she began walking towards me. No, I wasn't ready to have any encounters with her yet. My breaths came out in pants, a heavy lump in my throat as she was a few inches away from me. I braced myself, getting ready for whatever she had to say or do, but surprisingly she just walked past me while stylishly holding a glass of wine in her hands. "Darling, where have you been? I've been looking for you." I breathed out a heavy sigh of relief, placing my hands on my chest. It took a few seconds before her words registered in my mind and I turned around to see who she was talking to. And there he was, standing a few meters away from me, his arms wrapped around her waist while she buried her face into his chest. Tyler. Then I n

I glanced around the yard cautiously and walked towards the building, trying not to look suspicious. I let out a small hiss as soon as I stepped into the building, staring around the luxurious interior. It was quite obvious that they were really wealthy but their riches might just be built on stolen money, only the goddess knows exactly what happened to the entire wealth of our clan after they wiped them out. I should guess they took all of them. Stupid thieves. I tried to push all distracting thoughts away and focus on why I was here in the first place, which is to look around for any valuable information that would help my revenge plan. They should be too busy with the banquet ceremony. I could have some time to check out the room upstairs, the alpha’s study room in particular. I stared around the living room one last time, taking glances at the people around, chattering with each other and probably oblivious to what else might be going on. Then I turned around slowly, walking up t

Chapter 15

“Excuse me?” I shook my head, still unable to believe what he had just uttered. It’s quite surprising he had the nerves to even say such words, why was I even surprised? His parents did the exact thing, I guess what even is going on in Wesley’s life is more than I imagined. “You know well it’s quite stupid and not very nice to say such words about him, even before his mate. What? You got no morals?” I folded my arms, frowning at him. I was pissed already, as much as I did not want to involve in Wesley’s problems I could not hold myself, maybe he had been too much of a chicken to get trampled on like this. “The truth’s bitter, I understand.” Andrews crossed his arms, stretching his lips into a disgusting smirk. “Stay with him longer and you’ll discover what sort of a wimp he is.” “Hey, shut the fuck up or I’ll help you with that!” I snapped, pointing my fingers up at him angrily. “Have some respect! He’ll be future alpha and can wipe you out any time he wants.” “That’s ridiculous,

I let out a heavy sigh for the umpteenth time as I leaned against the window, staring down at my fingers as different questions ran through my head. He must be mad at me. What if he hates me now? What if he never speaks to me again, or worse rejects me as his mate? I tried as much as possible to convince myself that I was just overthinking the whole thing and he might be so mad at me, but I was already dying of guilt here, and even if he wasn’t mad at me, at least not anymore, I was mad at myself. Just a few minutes, I was supporting him during the few encounters I had, and now I ended up doing the same thing, even while he was still trying to recover from the incident with his father. Oh god, Valerie, you are so mean! And stupid. I wanted to hit my head hard against the wall until it was swollen and I can finally get rid of this guilt, but I did not want the Fabian guy who had been stealing glances at me, to look at me like I’m crazy and besides it wasn’t my car. What if the windo

Chapter 17

“You’re going somewhere?” April asked with uncertainty evident in her voice as she sat on the bed, watching me as I sat before the dressing table, doing something very unusual. Makeup. Honestly, I also have no idea why I was doing this. Was it because Wesley agreed to meet me today? No, definitely no…. Or maybe yes. I just don’t understand myself anymore; it seemed I woke up to a different person this morning. “I don’t understand you,” I watched through the mirror as she shook her head, rolling her eyes. “I don’t understand myself also, April.” I chuckled, concentrating on the eyeliner I was applying. “You haven’t told me anything about last night, how did the banquet go?” “Well, some things are better left unsaid,” I replied, mashing my lips gently against each other to smear the lipstick. “You only say that when you fucked up.” “April!” I turned around to face her, my eyes widened in surprise at her words. “That’s a bad word, don’t say it again.” I warned and she nodde

A few minutes later, we had finished eating, just bringing up small talk and laughs. Wesley pulled his phone out of his pocket when we heard a ping sound. There were some kind of changes in his eyes as he read whatever that may be. “Erm, Valerie. I need to go now; my father said he wants to see me, urgently.” I slump my shoulders, quite annoyed that our beautiful moments alone had to be interrupted. “Can I come with you?” I had no idea why I asked that, well maybe I just didn’t want to return to that motel and do nothing but stare into space. “Uhhh….” He scratched his head hesitantly and I silently prayed that he was going to turn me down. “Okay, fine, fine. Come on, let’s go.” He settled the bills immediately and I grabbed my bag, accepting his outstretched hand and we walked out of the restaurant to the parking lot where his car was. A few minutes later, we were already driving out of the restaurant, through the streets that led to the packhouse. We both alighted the car and wal

"Nothing much," He replies, shrugging his shoulders as he moves to sit at the foot of the bed while I sit on the small couch in the room, facing him. "I haven't confirmed though, but most times my suspicions turn out right." "Okay, so what is it?" "As I said, nothing much, but I've caught her most times sneaking around the top floor which she obviously has no business with. And...." He paused and stared at the door cautiously before continuing. "I've seen her kill someone secretly. No one knows about it, just I." "What?" My eyes widened in disbelief and it was almost impossible keeping my voice down. "Yeah, a worker here. One of the omega's daughters. I think she found out something really bad about her and to keep her secret safe, she had to wipe her out." "And no one knows about it?" It was quite disappointing and very stupid of them not to find out she wasn't as loyal as they thought. Hell, not after betraying her clan, there was no fucking way a traitor would be loyal. "Well

I woke to an unfamiliar ceiling and bed sheets; soon I recognized the room to be that of Wesley. A groan escaped my lips as the previous incidents flashed through my head. I winced sharply when I felt a stinging pain in my temple when my fingers brushed over the spot where I got hit. Damn it, Eve, you better pray I don’t lay my hands on you. I felt a small pang of disappointment after staring around the empty room, what the hell was I expecting? That my mate would be by my side waiting to see me wake up? Snap out of it Val, such kind of life isn’t for you; accept yours the way it is. I quickly hopped off the bed, ready to go search for Wesley, and put on my shoes which were by the side of the bed before heading out, into the hallway and down the stairs to the living room where giggles and laughter echoed from. My face scrunched into a frown as soon as I sighted Eve, sitting in the living room with her friend, chattering loudly. “Ooh, look who’s here?” One of them called the attenti
