  Alpha Akin is seething and pacing in his courtroom as he gets back reports from his last two remaining soldiers on the outcome of the war that had seen thousands leaving Storm Pack invigorated. The added advantage of a surprise attack was supposed to have made them take over the entire pack and bring everyone to their knees, and he is filled with shock, rage and a begrudging admiration at the intense damage that a handful of surprised soldiers could pull off.  "How can just a few hundred wolves completely annihilate my trained soldiers and allies? How is that even possible? Is there supposed to be a charm for this type of event to take place or what?" Akin yells at no one in particular. "Get these scared soldiers out of my face!"   Atlas leaves Scarlett's room feeling refreshed, affirmed and with a plan to hold down the pack as long as it takes, especially until Scarlett gets back. He feels it strongly in his bones after his weird dream, that Scarlett will definitely be back. He is not sure how or when, but he allows himself to be swallowed up by optimism. As he can no longer trust either Shantel or Daniel and until he investigates that issue, he can not talk to anybody at all about what is going on. It leaves him feeling very empty, lonely, and missing Atlene.   After everything that happened with the Beta becoming the Alpha and all, he goes ahead to declare that the wolves return to their houses and daily lives. He orders for Scarlett's corpse and that of her cousins to be moved to a separate room at the insistence of Atlas, who says that they cannot be buried until Atlene is back to at least say his goodbyes because he was not aware of the deaths. Atlas disputes at every meeting, waging an all out war on his father, the new Alpha. He flouts orders and disobeys rules and regulations. The Beta keeps letting him off because after all, he is his successor, unless the democracy thingy sticks with them.  Eventually, the Beta can no longer take Atlas's insults and insistent disobedience of his laws.   One thing Atlas notices is the fact that the other eleven men look healthy and strong, but all act like ninnies. They only ever do what the buxom lady asks them to do, and all their eyes are hazel and look painted on. They all neither blink nor yawn. The only thing that shows that they are not statues, are the mechanical things that they are doing. Like spooning the tomato soup into their mouths and biting into the bread.  Atlas looks around him, beginning only after that vision, to wonder why they had been so kind to him. The buxom lady treated and still treats him like he is one of them. Why is there a house in the middle of woods, housing one handsomely curved lady and eleven robotic acting men? As he thinks about the whole thing, he observes that the food seems to be recharging the men, like renewing one's subscription plan. There and then, Atlas knows that he has to do something to get out of there and he has to do it fast.&
