“Come on! Please?” Max shakes his head and picks up his fork to cut into his own breakfast.“I’m sorry, Sophie. If that’s what you really want, then I’ll tell you. But not right now, alright? Once they’ve finished eating, they clean up the dishes and head back up to their room, Sophie following behind Max like a puppy. She climbs up the ladder to the attic and plops down on her mattress as Max enters his room, taking off his wet uniform and throwing it on the floor. ‘He must really hate being in this room' she thinks. After changing into his pyjamas, he crawls into bed, pulling the covers over himself and resting his head on the pillow. He smiles softly when he feels Sophie rest her head on his chest.“I love you, Max,” she tells him. He smiles and wraps his arms around her tighter.“Love you, too, Soph.”

Sophie wakes up early the following morning. She stretches her limbs lazily and yawns. She notices Max isn't in the bed with her. She stands up and opens the door slowly to see if he's outside. After looking around, she hears soft music coming from the kitchen. She follows the sound of it and finds Max sitting in front of the oven humming softly.“Good morning,” she says sleepily as she leans against the wall by the entrance.
