Chapter 69

Jacquard was not sure exactly what he would excepted. That the book would be sitting there in the middle of the cave waiting for him? Maybe. If that was what he had expected, it did not work out that way. The cave was not a large flat- floored room like you always saw in the vids. It was a slanted crease in the stone, no more than three or four feet wide. You could not stand upright in it. You had to lean your back on the slimy rock. Jacquard was short of words, he did not know what to say. He was not sure maybe the thief really burnt the missing books or e everything was just a means to distract them. In his mind, he believed the thief can't do such. Instead of him or her burning things the whole world is after, he would rather keep them, someone no one would ever find out, maybe after years, he would bring them out to the world.Jacquard turned and head home straight, leaving behind his students. After she drank a little out of the water in the glass cup and she went back to where she was sitting before she went into the kitchen. " Yeah, I could remember the night you were talking about. I mean the night he returned from the trip and he was narrating his experience and how they were attacked and the soldiers saved them from being slain. Throughout the conversation, he was just repeating the same thing. He really emphasized the attack than his experience.
