Old Friends

“You discriminate so much,” the herald of Lucifer, the man who had slain a dragon, had a teary expression as he spoke. His countenance would have evoked great pity from many a men, but Kaspian was not part of that lot. He had fought against this man many times. He and his sworn brothers had lost much to this bigot every time that they clashed, and the injury that ached in his abdomen was the work of this man. How could someone who had threatened to kill him and his brothers be regarded with pity? How could a man who sought nothing but the destruction of the world, be welcomed? And why would one even crave for a person such as this.“I see that you’re still hanging out with him, Asmodeus,” Kaspian gazed upon the cat lazying about the herald’s shoulders as he spoke.“Why do you keep that form, thief of hell?” Kaspian questioned, and the cat narrowed its large eyes and flew off the slender man’s shoulder. It liked its paws a few times before transforming into a beautiful woman wearing cl

Old Friends: II

“Huh?” Kaspian muttered in surprise. Then he lifted his brows and laughed hysterically.“Hahaha! Hahaha! Oh my! Are you speaking to me?”Kaspian’s laugh was exuberant and full of life. He ignored the powerful aura that was pushing down on him like a man choosing to pay no heed to a petulant fly. He was hunched over as he reveled in what he considered to be Fernandez’s rich imagination. He truly didn’t care that the man standing before him had killed a dragon! Well to be fair, Kaspian did not know about that.“Of course I am speaking to you. I would have you know that my blade already reeks of dragon blood. I wouldn’t mind drenching its sharp edges with the blood of a Moon Wolf as well,.” Fernandez growled in annoyance. The jovial personality he had been exhibiting until now had been completely discarded and now, he was only showing off the side of him that sought blood and blood alone.“So what?” Kaspian chuckled with a slight shifting of his shoulders. “You walked with me once. Old Friends: III

Fernandez grunted and was knocked back a few meters by the powerful strike. His abdomen throbbed painfully as the skin underneath his shirt reddened. That punch was strong enough to easily crush a steel door into a pancake; yet somehow, Fernandez merely suffered a bruise!*Boom*Kaspian dashed forward with eyes that were as cold and apathetic as those of a hunter who had engaged his prey. He was not facing his old friend; neither was he facing a man to whom mercy could be shown. He had not expected his punch to deal any major damage because he had never been aiming for that from the start. The thing about Fernandez was that while he was strong, Kaspian did not find him to be the most troublesome opponent. There were two reasons why Fernandez was so difficult to deal with, and as Kaspian thought of these two reasons, he appeared before Fernandez and sent him skidding backwards with another punch!*Bang*The first of the two reasons was the cat that flew in the sky above. Asmodeus was n

Old Friends: IV

“You-” Asmodeus stuttered as blood poured out of her mouth. Her eyes were filled with disbelief, and even in the form of a cat, one could tell that the incredulity of the entire situation had stunned her. Kaspian smiled bitterly as he pulled his spear out from within her chest and flashed back onto the ground. Although he had dealt the damage, he didn’t feel any better about it. This was a woman whom he had loved once after all.“Bastard!” Fernandez exclaimed in anger as he appeared next to Asmodeus’s falling figure and caught her before she could hit the ground. Asmodeus returned to her human form the moment her chest was pierced, and as blood poured freely out of her chest, her eyes were still filled with disbelief. She couldn’t understand. She just didn’t. Even when the Brotherhood had tried to kill her all those years ago, she had always survived. She had been stunned many times by their tactics and brilliant mind, but she always survived their assaults. She had never failed to es

Old Friends and A Secret

As Kaspian fell to the ground unconscious, he heard a few other voices screaming his name from afar. They sounded suspiciously like the voices of his sworn brothers, but why would those two come here? They were still mad at him and there was no way the stubborn Ming He would give up his rage because of some measly injury to him.“I must be hearing things,” Kaspian attributed the hearing of these voices to his failing mind and lost consciousness completely, sinking into a deep sleep. What Kaspian did not know was that, he had not been hearing things when he heard the voices of Ming He and Chu Feng. The two arrived right after the battle was over, just like every security agency - public or private - did in every movie. They appeared right before Fernandez disappeared and it was most likely that Fernandez had actually retreated because he could feel their presence. While Kaspian’s groggy mind had attributed the retreat to Asmodeus’s hibernation, he had ignored something too crucial to i

Memories of Shakir

Kaspian had a strange dream. In the dream he stood in a hall that he had tried to forget but still remembered as clearly as the day his son was born. If the latter brought him so much joy that his mind refused to forget the memory, the former had brought him so much dread that his mind dared not let go of that fearful day. Ironically, it was this day that his powers were imprinted upon him and his long legend began. This hall was called the ancestral hall, and it was a place that every Moon Wolf had to come to by tradition. Kaspian was wildly talented, even by the standards of a Moon Wolf, so he had been sent to the ancestral hall at an early age. Instead of the usual rule to invite a child into the ancestral hall when that child was 12 years old, Kaspian had been sent 6 years early! He was barely a pup when he was sent there!“Oh? They have brought someone very young this time. And he came alone? This is odd in itself yet I can understand why they did what they did. Child, what is yo

Truth: I

“You’re awake,” Chu Feng smiled warmly upon seeing Kaspian open his eyes. The eyes of the previous scion of the Moon Wolf Clan brightened immediately upon meeting the light, needing no time to readjust. Seeing Chu Feng standing next to him, Kaspian was confused for a short period, before lifting himself to glance at the calender on the wall and realizing that only a day had gone by.“A day huh…yeah…you’re the only one who has the medical acumen to wake me up within a day,” Kaspian smiled wryly and fell back onto the bed.“Where is my wife?” Kaspian wondered. Knowing Kathy, it would have been impossible to get her out of the room. She would have surely waited until he awakened. Not to spite Chu Feng or anything like that, but Kaspian was disappointed that he was the first person he saw instead of Kathy.“Per my predictions, you were expected to awaken in the next few hours. Since the food the hotel provided was not good enough, she stepped out to get something for you to eat. Disappoin

Breakthrough!

As one man explained to his family the past events that had caused him much more trouble than he had bargained for, his spawn had gotten herself into mess of her own. Within the Lion King private training room, Kylie was sprawled all over the floor. She took short tiring breaths as sweat streamed down her hair and onto her face. Her entire body was wet with her sweat, and her palms were bruised and calloused. It had been five days since her training started, and these five days had been hellish. Each day she went to school with a smile on her face, and returned to meet her sparring partner, Aiden who proceeded to remove that smile from her face. As if medical school was not tiring enough, Kylie had to also deal with the physical burden of being a Beastman. These days, time didn’t move as swiftly as it used to. It dragged on, wore on, and pulled along like a heavily loaded backpack with nowhere to empty its contents - and she was the unfortunate little girl that was pulled along. Her p

Breakthrough!: II

Looking at the images of Kylie that were appearing and disappearing all over the field, Aiden was struck speechless. This young woman had upturned their predictions. Clara had expected that Kylie would break through in the next few weeks. Jack had estimated the same and as the one who was always sparing with her, Aiden had thought no different. Of course, predictions were merely that, predictions. They didn’t always come to pass as it was said that they would; but it was rare to find the predictions of three people - all of whom were astute - failing so wonderfully. Well, failure was not always a bad thing. If someone was able to overturn the predictions and thoughts one had of them in a positive way, then that person was praised. Adopt the negative approach and you were scorned. Thankfully, Kylie had broken their predictions and exceeded their expectations. It was a good thing; for it meant that she was a greater genius than they thought. Both Jack and Aiden could not help but think
