Clarissa Dacre and Silas were walking in, probably to also shove some food down their throat. They were still clad in their same clothes so I guess even they had not found a temporary place to stay. As Dacre was climbing the stairs, his gaze fell on me, and for a moment, he stilled. Silas, who had been climbing the small flight of stairs behind him, bumped into him and scowled, “Why did you stop?” For a moment, Dacre held my gaze and I thought that he would say something or come to talk to me. My face brightened a little but he simply turned to the side and occupied a table on the far end, away from us. They both walked past the table of the friends who had been gawking at me earlier. But, only now I knew that my choice of words had been wrong. What they were doing to Dacre and Silas with their eyes was gawking.
