Chapter 83Keratin stood a good head and shoulder taller than most men.He also had a body that was fit and ripped, but even with all his attributes, he was not vain. He knew he was a good-looking man but that did not in any way reduce his other attributes - the fact that he was kind, honorable, and brave was like a bonus. Little wonder he was the head of the warriors in the town of Rim.As he walked through the corridors of the goblins, he could not help but reminisce on times past when he was still a wee lad and his mother - moon goddess rest her soul - was still alive. He never met his father, and his mother never told him anything about him. As a matter of fact, bringing him up was a taboo so he forgot all about him and focused only on his mother. She was the sweetest woman he had ever encountered as well as the greatest female warrior that ever lived in Rim. He remembered when she would put him on her

ALMOST CAUGHT

Chapter 84Keratin knew the exact moment Germaine began to feel panic. It was like a cloying, drowning sensation that pulled at him, threatening to choke him. He did not like it very much. As he lifted a hand to cup her cheeks, it ebbed and he smelt the desire on her. It rose in the air, almost obliterating the panic.Oh, the panic was still there, but her desire was now heavy enough to cover it. He could feel his manhood swell and he groaned and closed his eyes momentarily. It had been too long since he felt the warmth of her velvety skin and the warm suction of her lips around his. As he opened his eyes, her desire grew to the point that he could not sense her panic anymore. She wanted him badly.I can feel your desire, my love. I know you want me as much as I want you. Don't fight it. He said to her via the mind link. She shrugged. All of what you said is true, but what about Moka and her words? Surely, we

THE WEAPON

Chapter 85There are two talismans?Germaine did not understand what was going on.How could she?Storm had managed to confuse, not just her, but the others as well. Although, as she looked around at the faces of the others, she could swear Dilla and Connie did not look surprised.Of course, they knew. They definitely would know all about the Orks. They had books about her and Storm, and Amelia and Galieel, and practically every other person fated to find the talisman, for crying out loud so the news about there being two more orks would definitely not be news to them."You knew, didn't you?" She cornered Dilla as they all made their way back."If you are talking about the other two orks, yes, my lady, I knew, I mean. . ." He shrugged. "I know there are four Orks and that they fit together to form the-""Dilla, can you please come help me?" Connie called from where she had almost stumbled against a rock. "I t

THE TRUCE

Chapter 86Anger welled up inside Keratin and he shook his head vehemently as he leveled a stern gaze on Storm."Why does he have to come with us?"Storm slid a hand down his face, tired from already explaining it two times to him. "Brother, brother, please, I understand that you have your differences with-""Differences?" Keratin let out a harsh bark of laughter devoid of mirth. "No! That creature wants my mate for himself and I will not stand by and allow that to happen.""Good for you, brother, that is how it should be, but please remember you must tread carefully as he is the sole weapon we need in bringing Rage down.""Sole weapon?" Keratin sneered. "You mean to tell me without him, we will not have any chance of doing so? So what have we been doing then? Wasting our time? Why are we even on this mission?"Galieel expelled a heavy breath and looked back at the others. He did not like it when disagreemen

THE WASTELANDS

Chapter 87Germaine had been reminiscing on the vast Goblin hall. No one else in their party knew what she had seen except herself. Zar had taken her to mines that stretched to the center of the earth, vaults of hidden treasures - gems, priceless relics, coin enough to make every citizen in the environs wildly rich. There were markets for trading, stages for plays and reenactments, and underground fields of dirt for growing mushrooms and potatoes with light from shafts in the earth. What was most spectacular was the hall of statues. Zar showed her various statutes of different creatures from the past in memorial to date. Statues that portrayed Goblin history as well as the history of other realms. Giant werewolves carved from the earth, both in human form and wolf form. Different creatures from various realms were molded to perfection, and even a few vampires as well, and there was a startling mold representat

A POISNOUS SOLUTION

Chapter 88The three chiefs eyed the small group they'd gathered together - a handful of trustworthy warriors from Rim, Bram, and Tram. Ever since the people in the town of Rim were displaced, they had taken shelter in the nearest town which was Bram, but even that was not spared, same as the other towns.Rage's vanquishers had gone to work on all the towns the werewolves inhabited and wreaked devastation in their wake, but they spared the people with a clause. They had to surrender to them or they would be killed. The werewolves had warily agreed and since then, the vampires had made the various towns their base where they operated from and all the town's resources were utilized by them. Food, water, cottages, everything, they used, leaving many of the werewolves displaced. They took up shelter in makeshift tents in the streets instead. The vampires carried around with them, wolfbane, a potent weapon that wea

Nacicite

Chapter 89 The small lone cottage sat deep inside the forest surrounded by a profusion of trees so thick, it would take the person who lived in there alone, to find it. That was the exact reason Gratiana decided to stay there. She found it the day she ran away from Rage's men when they rounded up the other mages and took them to Tirria. She decided to make it livable and cast a cloaking spell around it so that if anyone happened to pass deep inside the forest, they will never see it. It was the perfect hiding spot for her. Since the three town chiefs were not amongst the werewolves caged inside the town by Rage's men, they made a cottage only a few paces from Gratiana's to make it easy when they needed to communicate with her. It was at her place that they decided to make the brew that would incapacitate Rage's men. Fairchild gathered a large basin in which the different potions had been put. She and five other women from the town of Bram had regularly brought food the past two day

THE FIND

Chapter 90The sky was a dark grey with clouds looming like ghouls. Ever since Storm and the rest of his party got to the desert, it seemed their moods mirrored the sky. They had been in the desert for four days and four nights and nothing had happened. They were yet to find the talisman.Once it was sunset - Storm, Keratin, Dilla, and Zar set off toward the East to look for the Orks, according to what the moon goddess had revealed to Storm. On their return, she saw anxiety with a touch of gloom. It was the look of the unknown, the look of uncertainty. It made her feel restless. They were right to feel that way, Germaine surmised.Whenever Storm and the others left, she moped around the camp where they set up, looking morosely at nothing in particular. With nothing else to do and not wanting to sit around chatting with Amelia and Connie, she took long walks to nowhere, all the while looking down at the endles

THE TRIP

Chapter 91Nearly two hours later, everyone gathered. The three chiefs, Gratiana, Fairchild, Gilga, Hilia, and some other women involved in the cooking of Nacicite. Verag, Crag, Loga, and a few other warriors were also present as well. Fairchild had combined a glass vial, two parts to one as advised, but only after checking a seventh time with Gratiana before corking it.Thereafter, the vial was passed around and examined."We won't know how much is needed for a vampire so I was generous," Fairchild explained."Once we know, we know we will need to determine how much we will need to add to the fountain water.""And Goriah was sure it could be mixed with water? It won't be diluted?" Janga asked, his arms crossed."It can be mixed with water. Any other substance, specifically those with shared ingredients will disrupt the balance of either the vampire bane or the Nacicite.""A fountain water should be alright

One thing less

Chapter 92Germaine's eyes widened as creatures rose from the sand. They were hulking things with the form of humans but the features of beasts. Talons extended from their long distended hands, and their faces were too hideous to behold. They were swathed in shadows and were as many as the sand beneath their feet. Tremors rocked through her as she stood watching them advance toward her.She willed herself to move but it was as if her feet were stuck. She was frozen. Immovable. She couldn't move to save her life.I'm going to die.Her words however died in her throat as they passed her as if she weren't even there. As if she were invincible. They didn't pay her a single glance but she could, however, feel the roughness of their skin and the warmth that emanated from them. Hordes and hordes of them passed through her. She noticed they were in different shapes and sizes, some smaller than others but not less vi
