I didn’t dislike magic, but I didn’t like it very much either. I liked being able to defend myself, and I already did, I didn’t need anything else. Magic was fine, for whoever wanted it. Yes, it was still human theory, but I liked it that way. “Okay,” I said, to my wolf’s outrage. “But on one condition.” They both looked at me attentively, hoping what my condition would be.
