Keira’s POVThat night it was hard for me to sleep. I didn’t feel at ease and I kept thinking about everything that’s happen today. I know everything is changing and I feel like I’m the cause. If I never became Dawson’s mate, his father would still be alive. Maybe I’m not a good mate? I’ve never been a mate before, heck I’ve never been in a relationship before. Keira’s POVThe next morning Alpha Theo asks for me to come to his office. I walk up to the pack house to meet him. But first I’m met by Shepard. “Good morning.” Shepard says.“Morning.”“Are you headed to see Theo?” He asks.“Yeah.”“Great, I’ll join you.” We walk inside and head towards the Alpha’s office. Mason’s POVI feel a pain in my chest and then suddenly the voices of my pack come rushing in. They’re all crying out for my father, Alpha Thorin. I fall to my knees, and hold on tight to Lily as their cries continue to fill my head. The weight of their sorrow mixed with my own is almost too much to bear. But with my father’s last breath, I can feel my own wolf gaining strength. I’m next in line, I will be the new Alpha. I stand to my feet, pushing down the voices in my head. “I need to get to my pack now.” I say.“Head in that direction, that’s where your soldiers should be. Keira’s POV“We’ve finally received word from the warriors!” Someone shouts as they burst through the doors of the dining hall. Shepherd and I standup, leaving our half eaten breakfasts behind, and head to my mother’s office. I knock on the door.“Come in.” She calls out. We walk in and see her sitting at her desk, still reading a piece of white paper.“I’m guessing you are here about this?” She says, pulling her glasses down from her nose and holding up the paper in her hands. “I’m not too keen on showing it to your friend, but here.” She holds it out to me.
