Shock ran through me and I flinched back like I had been hit. My palm shot up to wipe off my mouth immediately as a sensation of throwing up right then and there ran through me. I followed Alessio outside toward the pack ground as the announcement about the contest getting started echoed in the air through the loudspeaker. At that very moment, a shrill sound of alarm shook the pack house. The sound of commotion started immediately while the attacker shot off my body, standing on his feet with surprise on his face. I turned my head toward Alessio. He had pressed on a button that was right next to his work table. He was still writhing in agony, his body burning red and his eyes shined blue. As I entered the hospital room after bidding goodbye to Gloria, my eyes first fell on the figure laying on the bed next to mine. With his arms folded under his head over the pillow, Alessio was sound asleep. Daniel was standing next to his bed, staring down at him with pissed off expressions.
