Chapter 31

So, the council was looking for me? Only me? If that were the case, they probably knew nothing about my sisters’ existences. Otherwise, why else would she just state that they were looking for me? I needed to find out more about this and possibly warn the others. “The council is looking for me?” I asked her. “Sweetie, you’re like a ticking time bomb in the council’s eyes. You should be happy they’re not raising hell on earth to find you,” Tiana grumbled weakly. “Just me?” I further probed. She shot me a sarcastic glare, “You are Elena are you not? I doubt any other survivors are as important as the heir to the fucking circus show.” My heart stuttered in surprise as the familiar name met my ears. They didn’t know about me? No… they didn’t know about any of us besides Elena. Was this mother’s doing? Did she make them believe that she only had one daughter? Why? I turned my head away from her and met Axil’s curious eyes. He’s been quiet t

Chapter 32

The silence was so loud that I could hear my own heart beating. Thump… thump… thump It was calm and steady with no signs of it ever increasing its speed, and my mind was peaceful for once. No chaotic thoughts or any visions that had me even more confused than I already was. I couldn’t see. There was darkness around me, shadowing me from the world that I found myself trapped in. I couldn’t move. My limbs were frozen in time as I continued to lay there in this suffocating silence. Why couldn’t I feel anything? Why couldn’t I see anything? Why? The darkness around me was terrifying just as much as it was enticing, and the longer I stayed there the more I found myself wanting to stay… forever. “St…” A voice! Finally! I heard something. Within this endless darkness, my ears picked up the sound of a plea and I strained myself to listen as the voice became louder. “Ru…”

Chapter 33

With Axil's speed, we made it back to the clearing in no time. The beautiful waterfall appeared before me once more and as I slid off Axil's back, a sudden thought struck me. I was living out a fantasy that I've read and heard about so many times in novels. Like... I always knew they existed because c'mon, I'm literally solid proof. I've lived so many years thinking that I'd never enter back into the supernatural world that I began thinking of them as mere myths. But here I was now. A little witch standing next to a werewolf who says that I'm his mate and talking together in a mythical clearing that is said to be inhabited by fairies. Who'd believe that? Axil nudged me gently with his head to pull me out of my thoughts and I turned to him and handed him his clothing. He took them in his mouth then trotted behind a tree to change back. I went to sit at the side of the pond and rolled up my jeans to dip my feet into the water. The water was cold

We stayed that way for a while as I released all the tears and emotions that I had bottled up inside. I couldn’t meet his eyes anymore, so I kept my face buried into his chest. “I’m not a good person, Axil.” I mumbled brokenly, the gaping hole in my heart from back then making an appearance once more, “I’m selfish and self-centered, and I have no regard for anyone but myself and my family.” Axil wrapped his arms around me and began to rub circles into my back in a soothing manner, “and what makes you think that?” “When I first got to earth and the cops found me under that bridge, I was devastated. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. My mother was gone, my people dead and I got separated from my sisters. I had nothing anymore and I didn’t know what to do. I wanted revenge. I wanted to kill everyone who played a part in my people’s destruction. Then I was adopted into Liza’s family. They took me in and for a while, I refused to acknowledge them as my parents becau

Chapter 35

“What are you doing?” His husky voice sounded out as I reached down to undo the button on my jeans. My heart pounded out of my control as I decided to go through with this. I inhaled sharply and nervously muttered, “I’m letting go.” He titled his head curiously, his light brown eyes drilling into my face as if he was trying to figure out my thoughts, “letting go?” I nodded, “yes. I’m living the life that I didn’t get to live due to my fear. I’m not running anymore so don’t make me feel stupid and strip.” My face heated up. A laugh bubbled out of his lips as his amused eyes stared at my anxious face, “does living your life mean you’re going to give yourself to me?” I glared at him in embarrassment and argued furiously, “I’m being serious, Axil! I feel like if I don’t go through this now, I’ll just run away later once I begin to overthink things… Don’t give me time to run. Make. Me. Stay.” I pulled down my jeans and step

Chapter 36

Axil twisted us around and pulled me onto his chest as he laid down on the hard ground, pulling himself out of me. I could feel our fluid slowly dripping out of my heat and trailing down my legs. Our heavy breathing filled the air as we tried to calm ourselves down. I gasped as Axil's hand grasped my inner thing gently and looked up into his face curiously. He pulled back his hand to show me the little smudge of blood mixed within our cum. “This was your first time?” He asked in surprise. I turned my head away in embarrassment and nodded against his chest, my voice coming out small, “you should be honoured that I chose you as my first.” His chest rumbled as a growl released from it and his hands came to wrap themselves around me, pulling me tighter into his body. His chin rested on my head as he hummed softly, “I am honoured.” We laid there in silence and simply enjoyed each other's embrace. Out of curiosity, I asked, “

Chapter 37

“What the fuck is wrong with your face?” Was the first question that escaped my lips as I ran into Liza outside my hospital door. Her lips were pulled into a wide ass smile that almost touched her excitement filled eyes. “Bitch…” Liza squealed as she hurriedly grabbed my hand and pulled me inside my room, slamming the door shut behind us. I was shook harshly as her claw like grip tightened around my arms, her hawk like eyes searching my face for something, anything that could give me away. “What the fuck?” I exclaimed in surprise, “what’s your problem?” She leaned closer to me and sniffed my clothing before stepping back with an amused look on her face. She pointed at the bathroom door to our left. “Walk towards that door let me see you,” she demanded. I frowned at her behavior, “are you on something? Why would I listen to you?” Her eyes sparkled as she ignored my words, muttering to herself, “I wonder if I can tell from how sh

Chapter 38

A yelp escaped my lips as a sharp pain collided with my little legs, causing me to fall back on my butt with an oomph! My leg throbbed as I reached forward to rub at the area, a frown blanketing my face. “That hurts,” I muttered begrudgingly. “Ezmira,” a stern voice sounded out as I struggled to get back up on my aching feet. I glanced lazily over at the woman in question. Mother. My mother stood at the side of the training grounds with her hands folded neatly in front of her, her cold, indifferent eyes boring a hole deep into my small nine-year-old frame as my sister, Elysia and I stood facing each other. I pursed my lips at her disapproving gaze and huffed, bending my knees slightly and bracing my arms out in front of me in preparation for the next attack. Elysia smiled at me slightly with apologetic eyes, “I’m sorry.” I shook my head, “don’t apologize. Let’s go again.” I approached her steadily and swung out

Chapter 39

Unknown POV Memories are a funny thing. Sometimes they make you happy, other times they make you angry and there are even ones that makes you cry. It’s easy for some memories to get blurred to the point where they resemble dreams and it’s easy for dreams to get blurred to the point where you can’t tell whether it’s a memory or something your brain conjured to trick you. I sometimes longed for those rare dreamless nights where my mind would completely shut off on me and leave me drowning in pure darkness. It was peaceful that way. The images of my family, friends and neighbors burning alive were imprinted into my mind since I got to earth that dreadful day. Nothing was going in my favor. That very same night, I could remember vividly what had happened. A cough racked my body as the fumes that circulated in the air got thicker, heat bouncing off the once serene scenery of towering crystal buildings. Screams were echoing loudly in the air as figures r

Chapter 40

I spent the rest two days in the hospital doing absolutely nothing. Since I was 'recuperating', I decided to use it to my advantage to laze around and read stories all day without any interruptions. I knew that after I got out of the hospital, things wouldn't be the same again, and I'd probably have to get insanely busy from now on. This meant less time for me, which meant less time to read, which means less time to do absolutely nothing. I mentally sighed. It sounded like torture. Liza visited my room often but left after being ignored by me every single time. From what I heard, little Bea and her had become the best of friends. I was never good with kids, so I haven't managed to get close with the little rug rat yet. Liza said it was mostly because I ignored kids instead of giving them the attention they needed, but I don't see what's so wrong about that. It ain't my kid; my attention was needed elsewhere. Axil had also stopped by once befor
