Chapter 21

"So, here's what I figured out," I made sure that I've gained both of their attention before continuing, "The beasts within all werewolves of Sylia are being suppressed by Tianna. We've already kind of figured out that much but I've figured out exactly how it's being done and the spells that are being used.""What's going on then?" Liza asked."Double edged spells, meaning spells that coul

Chapter 22

"What are you doing?" Liza asked from behind me.I ignored her question and continued to search the clearing for something sharp and jagged. There was no time to waste. The quicker we accomplished this the better.I spotted a seashell across from me and hurriedly picked it up, rubbing my fingers across its edges to test it's strength and sharpness. It seemed sharp enough.Hopef

Chapter 23

"Ten minutes sure feels like ten hours... and I'm hungry as hell, my back feels sore, and I feel like I've been baked in mud. When is this going to be over!? I wanna cry, look at me," Liza rambled on and on as we walked through the forest, "how are we even going to know when they're ready?"I glanced over at her as I ducked under a tree branch, "they're demons, trust me we'd know.""Speaking of, are you sure that was a wise idea, summoning them? Like wasn't there an easier option?"

Chapter 24

Oomph! I fell onto the solid floor beneath me and flinched at the impact as I landed on my legs and tumbled onto my back. I curled up in pain as my body throbbed from the harsh impact to the ground. "Fucking hell," I groaned, using my hands to weakly lift myself up slightly. This was no time for me to be whining. Luckily, I didn't break anything. It felt like a long fall but at the same time I didn't end up as bloodied soup so I could only assume it wasn't as long as my brain imagined it to be. I pushed through the pain and sat up on my butt, trying to catch my breath as my lungs struggled for air. My eyes lifted up towards the right side of the room almost as if on instinct, narrowing in alarm. "Are you hiding from a wounded witch?" I asked, staring at the dark corner tauntingly. Although my face was probably cold and terrorizing, my insides trembled in fear of what might become of me. A snort was heard before the lights in the room flicked o

Chapter 25

AXIL'S POV Nothing in the world could describe how I was feeling right now, at this very moment, as the connection between my pack and I suddenly blossomed. Thousands of voices collided within my mind as I felt the bombardment of many different emotions. From confusion to happiness to relief then anger. I felt it all. What was once one of my biggest sources of annoyance in the past turned into my absolute enjoyment as I allowed the link between my people to strengthen and grow. I cradled Mira in my arms as I stared out at the sea of people before me. My people. And the one person who stood before them all, my brother Abel. "Brother," I reached out to him mentally, probing for that familiar channel that I've been desperately reaching out to for the past few days. It embraced me with open arms. "Axil," came my brother's relieved response, "you took your dear goddam ti

Chapter 27

Liza's POV I hugged Bea closely to me as we walked down the hospital hallway, heading towards the receptionist desk on the front floor of the building. "Do you know where your dad is?" I asked her gently. Bea shook her head and frowned, "Papa say no move but Bea know nobody." Aaah so she moved because all the unfamiliar faces startled her. "Don't you have anymore family?" "Papa and mama is family." Sympathy swirled inside me at that, and I rubbed her back to sooth her, "Alright then let's go and ask around for papa. I'm sure he'll notice you're gone soon." We took the elevator downstairs as I started up a small conversation with her to make her feel more comfortable. Simple things like her favourite colour and animal were asked as we took our short journey down onto the first floor. "Why cats though? I think dogs are much cooler," I commented when I found out her favourite animal was a cat. Bea shook her

Chapter 28

Axil immediately came to my side and placed a hand on my waist, gently guiding me out of the lab and back into the conference room. I sat down in one of the chairs and tried to calm my gurgling stomach.  "W... Wha... What was that?" A frown tugged at his lips as his worried eyes scanned my face, "you weren't supposed to see that," he muttered. "Axil, what was that?" I asked shakily. He sighed and ran a hand down his face, "it looks like Tiana and my uncle continued their experiments. That room must have been their lab." My lips curled in disgust, "that's sick. How could anyone do that?" Axil didn't respond but the anger in his eyes could be seen through clearly. My mind drifted back to when I had first entered the room and sensed the presence of a witch. Thinking of the time in which the spell was casted, it was possible for the witch to still be within the building. My heart strengthened in resolve as I thought of somethi

Chapter 29

Tiana was being held at the police station, in a very secured interrogation room with about four guards who made sure she remained unconscious day in and day out. It was a smart move on their part as by doing so she’d have no way of escaping or contacting her partner in crime before they could figure out what to do with her. As I walked through the police station with the twins trailing in front of me, I couldn’t help my eyes from wandering all over the building in curiosity. I’ve never been to a police station before, but I found that it wasn’t all that different from the ones you’d see on the television. It was also bustling with people as they walked around in their uniforms. I asked curiously, “are all the people in here werewolves?” Abel answered, “most of them, yeah. We’re trying to keep up appearances as we figure out where we go forward from here. There are still people breaking out from under the stone.” “What? It’s been days.” I exclaimed in

Chapter 30

“What!?” Abel exclaimed in surprise. I ignored him and stared intently at the flash of emotions that flitted across Tiana’s face as she registered my question. Finally, her wary eyes met my own, “What are you talking about?” I snorted and raised an eyebrow, “Don’t think I’m stupid after that shocked expression you just showed. Answer the question.” Her lips thinned into a straight line as a blank look decorated her face. I knew what that look meant. I wasn’t going to get an answer from her, but I didn’t need to get the answer directly from her lips. To prove me right, she responded, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I sneered at her blatant lies and turned to glance back at the brothers, “do me a favor?” “What is it?” Axil asked. “Listen to her heartbeat and tell me when it starts to race.” Axil’s eyes shone with anticipation as he nodded and waited for me to begin. I turned my attention back to
