11: Big not so bad wolf

*Typhon* I am staying away from him for the rest of the day. I am angry and annoyed and honestly, I do not trust myself to be near him right now. This little Alpha and his bloody coughing are damn infuriating, but truth is, I am mostly angry with myself and my reaction to him.  Why did I imagine kissing him? Running my hands into his soft-looking hair? He might be all cute and innocent looking, but he is a pack Alpha, he is one of those wanting me and my misfits removed from the face of the Earth.  Very fitting for my mood, it starts raining as the sun sets and I can’t help thinking that now he will have water in the little container he put outside.  I snort and Cerberus chuckles ins

12: A kiss

*Typhon* I rake my hand through my hair, a little bit peeved that this annoying little Alpha has made me laugh more in the past day than I have in the past year, “Do you know, if you weren't the enemy, you'd be rather entertaining.”  He shrugs.  “Have you ever taken the time to consider why packs hate us ? Why we are rogues in the first place ? That we have feelings and hopes and dreams too ?” I stare at him intently. I don’t know why, but I am determined to find a conscience in this guy. He must be able to see our side, I am sure of it.   ‘He seems smart, and he is funny, and..’

13: Actually sick

*Typhon*The next morning I make my way down to the kitchen, before heading up to see my ‘guest’. I am going to get him to talk today if it kills me. This nonsense has gone on long enough.  When I reach the kitchen Hunter, who is kind of our resident cook, is busy stirringsomething in a soup pot.  "Good morning, King Ty … Cerberus," He says with a grin.  ‘I like him,’ My wolf says, ‘He always greets me too.’

14: Shortbread

*Jonas* He exits the room, slamming the door behind him before twisting the two locks shut with a vicious click that mimics the look he had on his face. I stare at the door and blink. What had that been all about ? The man is as changeable as the wind. One minute I would swear he is actually growing fond of me, and the next … ‘Maybe he struggles with this …,’ Cana starts. I huff, “Do not say mate” ‘…Mate thing,’ He finishes with a cheeky grin. Well, I think, as I reach for the tea and pour myself a cup, he does think I amtraitorous and kinda evil. That ought to explain why he is so often brusque and insulting. Although .. I take a deep sip of the steaming tea and sigh with pleasure ... It doesn't explain why he had kissed me. And it certainly doesn’t explain why I had let him. Let him ? Hell, I hate to admit it, but I enjoyed it. It had been like nothing else I have ever experienced, more like the warmth and security I had known when I was a Young pup and my mother were sti

15: Will he talk ?

*Jonas* “Oh dear,” I croak, forgetting that I am supposed to be mute, but I had not expected to see the warrior woman with the hair that looks like flames in red, orange and yellow. “And how the hell long have you had your damned voice back ?” My captor demands. I fiddle with my hands, feeling dumb, "I ... ah ... Not so long, really." “Really, Cerberus,” The woman says, “You might want to mind your language. There is a lady present … and a vulnerable boy.” ‘Hey lady, we are fully grown,’ Cana mutters in an offended tone. “Bugger that !” Typhon all but explodes. “Do you know how much time I've wasted trying to help him regain his voice ?” I swallow nervously. So is his name Typhon, or Cerberus, I am getting confused. Both kinda fit him though. “And …,” He continues in a blaze of fury, “Now when you speak, please answer my questions”. “I don’t really remember …,” I start. He grinds his teeth, “Do not start with me little Alpha, I am not in the mood”. I sigh, wondering how he

16: His name is Jonas

*Jonas* “Out !” I croak, “Now ! Both of you.” They turn to face me, clearly having forgotten that the object of their discussion is still in the room. “Fucking excuse me, what ?” Fire moon says. Cana huffs, ‘Language Young lady.’ “I would like a few moments alone,” I manage to croak out, then add, “Uhm sir … beta … my lady … whatever.” “Call me Fire,” She replies, “All of my friends do.” I shoot her a wry look, plainly covering that our odd situation hardly qualifies as friendship. “And he is Cerberus or Typhon, whichever you prefer,” She adds, “I am assuming the two of you are on a first name basis or should be by now.” I shrug, “He never really introduced himself.” “Shame on you, Cerberus," Fire Moon says, “Such manners.” My wolf lets out a laughing bark, ‘I like her, she got spunk.’ “I'm going to forget you said that,” Typhon growls, “Because if I don't, I will have to kill you.” I chuckle despite myself. Say what you will about the perplexing man who is keeping me ho

17: The scared king

*Jonas* "What do you suppose is keeping our good friend Typhon ?” I look up at the sound of Fire moon’s voice as I pour some tea, “He certainly isn't my good friend,” I reply. “Well, I wouldn't call him your enemy … would you ?” Cana chuckles, ‘Not our enemy.’ “No, he I guess he isn't. It's just that I don't think friends tie friends to the bedpost,” I mumble. Fire moon chokes on her tea, “Oh Jonas, you have no idea sweetie.” “The point is moot, anyway," I say, looking at my own cup, “He seems to have run away." “What ?" Fire moon slams the cup down on the table, “That bloody coward.” "Surely he's not afraid of me," I joke. Fire moon turns her head to look at me, her eyes boring into my face so sharply I grow uncomfortable, “Perhaps he is,” She murmurs, more to herself than to me. “What do you mean, ma’am ?” ‘She means that he is afraid of his … feelings for you,’ Cana says with a sigh. I almost roll my eyes, ‘I am sure she didn’t.’ Fire moon shakes her head, as if to c

18: Getting an idea

*Jonas*To be honest I am actually kinda excited and delighted to be allowed to stay. But when the first excitement has died down I realise that I have no more to share with them. I am not gonna actually be a help. To say it bluntly, I am useless. I am sure they have no idea yet. Typhon and Fire moon probably think I still have all kinds of juice tidbits they can use. What will happen when they realise ? Will they change their mind and throw me out ? Or will they decide to get rid of me. So I decide that the only way to keep myself safe and keep me here … ‘And with that hunky man,’ Cana injects into my thoughts. ‘Oh shut it you horny bitch,’ I tell him. The way to keep me here is to make myself useful … but how do I do that ? “What to do, what to do,” I mumble to myself, walking aimlessly through the caves as I look for a suitable task. I need to find a project that will take a long time to complete, something that will require my presence for at least several days, maybe a wee

19: Two dusins

*Typhon* I had gone to bed in a bad mood and I woke up this morning feeling even worse. This thing … keeping that annoying little Alpha as a hostage, if I have to be honest about it ... has turned into a fiasco. A nightmare. A walking disaster that plays tricks on my mind. He is a constant temptation, and an aching reminder of all that had been stolen from me. Cheerful, innocent, and optimistic, he is everything that has been missing from my heart for so very long. Since I was rejected by my mate and kicked out of my pack. The entire bloody situation seems to prove the existence of a higher power … one whose sole purpose is to drive me absolutely and irrevocably insane. I stomp out of my bedroom, my expression black. “Ever cheerful, I see.” I look up to see Fire Moon standing at the end of the hall. “Do you lurk in dark corners, just waiting to bedevil me?" I growl. She laughs, “I have far more important people to bedevil than you. I was just on my way down to get breakfast.

20: Typhon’s story

*Fire moon* “I wouldn't have said that if I was you,” I comment from a safe distance, my wolf just following the spectacle with curiosity Jonas sticks the end of his shovel in the dirt and leans on it as he speaks to Typhon, “Once you hear my explanation, I'm sure you will understand." “I understand nothing !” The big man huffs. “Yes,'' Jonas sighs, “Men like you usually don't.” Typhon starts looking around the garden, his head whipping frantically from side to side as he tries to assess the damage, “I'm going to have to get someone to redo everything and repair what you have done. Good God, kid, you are going to cost me a bloody fortune and we will lack the vegetables." “Don't be silly," Jonas courageously replies, “These holes will all be filled up by evening. I'm merely moving those plants here into the sun. They will do much better there. Except for those over here, of course,” He adds, pointing to the ones planted right next to the rocks, “Those thrive in the shade.” “I
