101. Insecurities

"Where exactly are we going?" Xavier asks."You'll see soon enough." I reply back."How much longer?" Xavier asks."It's not far now. We should be there in about five minutes. After awhile, we reach the end of the tunnel. "What now? There's no where to go. It's a dead end." Xavier says, seemingly flustered."That's what it appears to be. But no, it's not.""What.." Xavier begins, cutting himself off as I walk towards the side of the tunnel.I reach towards the wall, and push forward on a section of the wall. Xavier steps towards me, and helps me to push as well. Not long after, the barricade shifts allowing us to step through. We step through the hole, which reveals itself to be a simple storage unit. Before Xavier asks, I answer his question."After the tunnels had been shut down, they decided to close up all of the entrances, to prevent people from accidentally stumbling upon them. The same time that happe

102. Tough Guy

"You should probably get going. I'm sure the men are looking for you." I say, stepping away from him, getting myself ready for when he leaves."What do you mean? I'm not leaving." He replies."What do you mean? Of course you have to go. You're the head of the Scorpions. They need their King to keep them in order." Xavier laughs at my response, but only pulls me back to him."Have you not been listening to me? I'm not going anywhere.""But..." I begin, but he cuts me off again."There's no buts. So instead of trying to get rid of me, start going over your plan.""Won't the men get worried?" I ask."I will update them that I won't be coming back until this is finally over. I'm not in charge right now anyways. Everyone believes I'm dead. So Ryker has stepped up in my absence."I go to respond once more, however Xavier places a finger on my lips, silencing me. "The only thing that matters is your safety, and the safety

103. Time's Up

I pace the room waiting for Craig to get up. I must've kicked him harder than I thought, as he's been out cold for hours. I just want to get this done and over with. As I continue pacing, I hear Craig begin to moan, indicating that he's regained consciousness. I turn around to watch him, recognition taking over his face."So what's your plan now? Are you going to shoot me?" He asks sarcastically."No. I've planned something far more fortuitous than a measly gun shot." I say, stoically."Like what?" He asks, but I can tell he really isn't that interested."Something I like to call pay back."With that, his eye brows furrow, curious as to what I have planned."So what's this big plan of yours?" He asks, raising a brow.I stare at him, weak and tied to the ground. I can see the fight in him surfacing. Waiting for the right moment before he decides to try and fight me, but I won't give him that satisfaction."I'm more of a show tha

104. Returning Home

...Elena POV...I don't know what's going on, but the men have been on edge all day. Something is off, but no one will tell me anything. I know it's a low blow, but maybe I can get Jax to tell me something.I walk through the house searching for Jax. It's almost as though he knows I'm looking for him, because it's like he's vanished. There's not a single trace of here at all. We've been here for nearly two months now, and none of us have ever left. Every so often we get a delivery of necessities that we need, such as food. But none of us actually venture out into the town. Even though we're sure that no one could ever find us, we can never be too safe. The most that I'm allowed to do is venture the property, or go to the beach. Other than that, it's like we've become prisoners in our own house. Just as I'm about to give up, I see Jax heading towards the beach. I run after him, attempting to catch up to him."Jax!" I yell out, hoping he'll sto

105. Payback

...Jax POV...After talking with Elena, I went straight for the office to follow up with the men. I needed to make sure everything would be running smoothly. I had them keep trackers on the plane, and the roads we would need to use, to get to the plane. I wanted to make sure no one was follow us, or panning an attack. Dante was first and foremost my priority. He is the heir to the Scorpions. I only wish that he has to take that title when he's of age. Otherwise he'll never know what it's like to have a regular life. He'll always be looking down the barrel of a gun. Brad interrupted my thoughts, bringing my focus back on what's important."Is everything ready to go?" I ask him. I know it is, I just need him to reassure me."Yes. Everything is set to go on time." He confirms.I nod my head, then walk out of the office, heading to the front door. A few of the men hot on my tail. Not all of us will be leaving today. A few will st

...Lexi POV...I can feel someone shaking me, but I don't understand what's going on. Where am I? How did I get here? What's going on?Slowly everything begins to come back to me. I try to open my eyes, only to see that everything is blurry. I sit up, and try to get my vision to stop moving. I take a few slow breaths, and try opening my eyes once again. Everything before me is a bit fuzzy, but at least it's better than before. Which is when I notice a woman standing before me. She looks familiar, but I can't think of why."Are you ok hunny?" She asks. Her voice is like lightning coursing through my veins. I could never forget her voice."Mom?" I ask in a weak voice."Yes hunny, it's me." She says."Am I dead?" I ask her back, not understanding how she's in front of me right now."No. But that could change if we don't leave right now." She says sternly.Suddenly everything comes flashing back.I stand up, and acces

107. To Hell and Back

...Xavier POV...Everything had gone to plan. I had set up the bombs all around the building there was a total of twenty of them. We wanted to create dramatic effect. Something Craig had done when he killed Lexi's parents all those years ago. We found out that he isn't actually use just one bomb. Rather he used a series of them, which would trap us like mice in a maze. Forcing us to move throughout the building according to how he deemed fit. What he didn't anticipate was Lexi and myself actually getting out. He thought for the sure the fire would trap us inside the building. Something that we plan to do to Craig today. He had long gone past the point of sympathy. He was the ice in my veins, the reason behind all this madness. I wanted him dead for everything he had done to Lexi over the years, more than I wanted to live myself. I don't want to live in a world, that he's a part of. I need to make sure we end this today. There will be no second chance

108. Accidental Survival

...Xavier POV Continued...My eyes go wide as I realize that Craig was telling the truth. The sick bastard had her family here the entire time. Not only did he make her life a living hell, but he also made everyone believe that her parents had died that night. How much more sick in the head can a person get?I quickly run over to Catherine, nodding for her to leave. She barely has any strength remaining in her, so she doesn't put up a fight. I quickly rush over to Lexi, and notice that she's trying to help someone out of the hole. I crouch down beside her, and reach down towards the arm of the man she's holding up. He looks to be nearly double the weight of Lexi. I have no idea how she's managed to keep him off the ground all this time.I grab his other arm, and help him up. He reaches the ground safely, and shifts himself towards his wife. I look back at Lexi, and she doesn't seem to realize that she's no longer holding her father anymore. I pull her into my ar

...Lexi POV..."What do you mean, you may know where he is?" I ask my mom.Up until now, I had almost forgotten everything that had happened. I was so consumed with thoughts about Craig's downfall, that I had momentarily forgotten about my parents. But what my mom was saying now, seemed impossible."How could you know where he is? You've been locked in a basement for nearly a decade!" I find myself yelling at her. But I don't even know why. I'm not upset at her in the least. But my emotions are out of control. 110. Final Offer

...Lexi POV...As I slowly begin to regain consciousness, I look around me to figure out where I am. My body feels constricted. Both my mind and my vision are a bit groggy. I try to focus on the things around me, however nothing looks familiar. My vision hasn't come back fully, but from what I can make out, I seem to be in a basement or something underground. There's no windows, that I can see at least. The cold stone walls around me, look as though they've never seen daylight. The air is filled wild mold and mildew, and I can hear the steady drip of water leaking somewhere in the distance. The room is silent, as I continue to gather my bearings. My vision begins to clear. I continue to look around me for any sign as to where I am. I notice a series of tv screens in front of me. However none of them are on. There's also a digital timer along the top right hand corner of one of the screens. I don't know why it's even there in the first place, as it's not even doing anyt
