Chapter 110: Going Home

“And you believe this prophecy?” I ask. “I don’t know, but we can’t ignore your name,” Greg says. “My name?” I ask and look at him in confusion. Greg looks at me like I am missing something big. “What?” I ask and throw my arms out wide. “Why are you looking at me like that?”   “Because your name literally means, Divine Warrior Angel and Alina means Light.” Greg says and looks at me in exasperation. “Okay, then who is this person of darkness I’m supposed to conceive a baby with?” I say and cross my arms. “You are going to have to put those pieces together yourself,” Greg says and stands. “We will stand with you and back you every step of the way, but you have to stand on your own two feet this time. I thought I was helping you before, but I think I was

Chapter 111: Getting Ready

“You think Warrick is a hybrid?” I ask. “I do.” my dad says. “What is he mixed with then?” I ask and pinch my bottom lip between my thumb and pointer finger. This is too much. “I think he is part werewolf and part demon,” my dad says, effectively knocking the air out of my lungs. I stumble back, a pained cry comes from my lips. “No. He can’t be! Demons are evil creatures, dad!”  My dad steps forward and places his hands on my shoulders. “Divina, look at me.” When I don’t, he shakes me slightly. My eyes find his and he holds my gaze. “Just because a person is part demon, does not inherently make them automatically bad. Just as you being part angel, does not automatically make you automatically good. Do you understand?” I sigh. “Yes, I understand.”

Chapter 112: Eye Contact

A knock on my bedroom door draws our attention much to my relief. “Come in,” I call, and Greg steps through my door with two dresses with plastic covers over them. “Luna Maria asked me to bring these to your room so Gloria and Bren can...” Greg’s words trail off as he focuses on me. “Umm, wow. You look... great?” His words come out as a question and I cringe, touching my hair. “Is it that bad?” I ask. His eyes go wide, and he hurriedly sets the dresses down on my bed before coming to me and grasping my hands. “No, no. That’s not what I meant. It’s just. Am I even allowed to compliment you anymore? I’ve been so comfortable around you for so long, I don’t want to cross any lines. Really, you look breathtaking,” he says and flashes me his familiar smile. “Thanks,” I say and smile at Aria as she appears in the doorway. She smiles back and rolls her eyes. “He worries too much,” she says and walks over to us, wrapping her arms around his waist and standing on he

Chapter 113: The Mating Ceremony

---Warrick---  Seeing her for the first time since that day at Timberwolf pack nearly ruined me. I am barely able to hold myself back from pushing through the crowd to get to her. I need to get a hold of myself. I have a part to play today, and I can't let what I want get in the way of that. I drink her in. Those gorgeous blue eyes, beautiful golden skin, and that hair. I had no idea when she colored it, but she didn’t look as if she belonged this world. Maybe she didn’t. She definitely didn’t belong to me anymore. The mate bond’s pull on me is just as strong as it was when I first laid eyes on her and I wonder if she can still feel it. She has never accepted my rejection, so I am inclined to think she feels our bond as strongly as

Chapter 114: Warrick Isn't What He Seems

Chaos erupts around us as the crowd scrambles to get out of Vanessa’s trajectory. She plows through anyone who is in her way and the murderous rage that fills her eyes is focused solely on Divina. All I can think about is protecting her. I can’t let anything happen to her again. I have to get her out of here. The crowd surges against us and I lose my grip on her. I spin around and search the crowd for Divina, but I can’t find her. “NO!” I scream and push against the flow of the panicked guests. She appears to the right of where I last saw her and instead of running away from Vanessa, she is heading straight for her with Alina circling around the other side as if to try and drive Vanessa back away from the everyone. Panic feels me as I watch the three of them collide.  They go down in a tangle of limbs, kicking up dirt and dust. I can’t see or hear anything and anger heats at my chest as I fight to get through the crowd. “Get the fuck ou

Chapter 115: Don't Die

---Divina---  I hide my shock that Warrick just took Vanessa’s life. I honestly didn’t think he had it in him. I hate it, but I still don’t fully trust him even with these past few weeks. He has been trying so hard to prove himself to me, but it is hard to forgive and forget. As the demons advance upon us, I look over at his too large frame with his clothes hanging in tatters off him and suppress a giggle when an image of the Hulk comes to mind. “Now you’ve done it,” I say and reach for his hand. He is so huge that I have to lean back to see his face. “Dance with me?” I ask with a smile. This was going to be fun. Warrick’s grip on my hand tightens and he pulls me to him and lifts me up, so I am eye level with him. He leans in and gives me a gentle kiss

Chapter 116: Her Voice

6 Weeks Earlier ---Warrick--- I pace back and forth in the guest room that Alpha Jack had set up for me in the wing for visiting Alphas and the image of Divina leaning into Greg’s kiss assaults my mind. “Fuck!” I roar and scrub my hands over my face. The ache in my chest intensifies and I close my eyes and breathe through the pain. I can’t handle a world where she is with someone else. Suddenly, I have the need to run and try to call Nox forward, but he is still ignoring me. “Fine, Asshole! I’ll run on two legs then,” I mutter to myself and raise the window. I slip out onto the roof and walk to the edge to gage how high up I am. Piece of cake, I think, and step off the roof and land lightly on the ground. I glance up at the ledge three stories up before taking off in a sprint to the forest that hugs the edge of the clearing near the pack house. I run for hours trying to clear my head and when that doesn’t work, I run harder. Images of her piercing blue eyes, her face lighting up

Chapter 117: Stepping Up

I step out of the shower and squint into the steam clouded mirror, lean over the sink, and drop my head down between my arms. Watching the water drip from my hair to the drain, the weight of everything I learned last night presses down on me until I feel like I am suffocating. So many things brought me to this day. My lack of courage, the choices I made, my failures... The weight feels heavier. The question now is, what the hell am I going to do about it? I could sit here and feel sorry for myself and continue down this path of self-destruction, or I could stand up and take my life back and fight for my mate like I should have from the beginning. I glance up at the mirror and have the overwhelming urge to see myself. I need to look in my own eyes and determine what I see there. I wipe the mirror with a hand towel and study my reflection carefully. If I’m honest with myself, I hate what I see. I glower at the coward that stares back at me. I look lost and broken because I am. I squeeze

Chapter 118: Plans

Over these past few weeks, I have been busy. I got word to Divina’s father and gave him all the details. We’ve been in constant contact making plans. Greg and Aria are an integral part of these plans. I hate having to rely on him again, but no one can know that Divina and I have had contact, so when we do formulate an escape plan, I can’t be there. The Angel settlements know the danger coming their way and have joined together unlike anything I have ever seen. From what Greg has shared with me, they were a peaceful people and didn’t know how to fight and had just been relying on staying hidden this whole time. I find that hard to believe because I have been helping to train the men, they have sent to the Timberwolf Pack, and they are vicious fighters and have learned very quickly. More than once, they have mentioned Divina’s fighting skills and how she would take on multiple men at once and it was like she was dancing through and around them. One man spoke how fighting should be so vio

Chapter 119: Convincing Vanessa

I pull my Camaro off the side of the road and stare at the entrance to my pack's territory. I haven’t been back here in so long. The thought of what I am about to do turns my stomach and I come close to turning my car around. “Hey, Warrick, is that you?” my father’s Beta calls to me from the gate entrance. “Yeah, it’s me. How’ve you been, Beta Gedeon?” I ask. He walks to the edge of the entrance and squints over at me for a moment before answering. “I’ve been good. What brings you back here? I didn’t know you were coming,” he asks. I clear my throat and take my time answering, “I’m here to see Vanessa. I heard she was staying here while our dads were away.” Gedeon gives me a long look and sighs, “Yeah, she’s here. That girl is bat shit crazy.” I couldn’t agree more, but I have a part to play. I am out of my car and in his face before he can blink and wrap my hand around his throat. “Don’t you ever disrespect my future Luna like that again,” I growl in his face. Gedeon’s eyes go wid
