Back To Vivienne's POV: "Lay another finger on her," I heard a dark rumbling growl shake through a distant and hard to familiarize voice. I've never heard such authority- In one's voice. Brendon's POV: I felt my heart launch out of my chest when I found Niall. I still can't get the sound of his father's yells. Begging for Niall to tell us what happened. Slapping his son awake. The blood on the hunter's trap was enough to tell us what happened. How Niall was left behind meant only one thing. They were after Malakai for a reason. Niall sat in a seat across from me in my study. I called him in so I could have a quiet conversation with him- without peering eyes. I didn't want anyone distracting straight answers out of him. Twelve hours. That's how long it took before I came across my first scent. I had been running- trying to figure out where I was in the meantime. I didn't think this through. I had no clue if I was going in the right direction. I just know I had to put some miles between me and the vampire's den. My legs felt like breaking. I was pushing everything I had and felt like it wasn't enough. A wolf can cover a lot of ground within twelve hours. 'You're going the wrong way,' was all I thought as I sniffed the air. Bingo, wolf! I felt an excited howl rip through my chest. I found something! Anything close to a familiar earth scented wolf was making my heart race. As long as I found my own kind- it didn't matter who they were. They would protect me once I told them I was an important Luna to The Scarlet Nightwalkers. I pray- they're close to my pack. I'm going to get home. I'm going to be okay. I'll tell Brendon about Niall, Lamia, and how they're working together.

Brendon's POV: It's not my job to remember everyone's names in the pack. But, I took it upon myself to at least learn important faces I would need to command on cue. Halfway down the hall and we were stopped. Fang had waited patiently down the hall after we left the office. He looked at me like he wanted to discuss something. I looked at Nena. "Give us a sec?" I asked her as I left her side to follow Fang down the hall and away from her ear-shot. Fang took my arm as he pushed me up against the wall and moved into my full sight. He cleared his throat as he looked me in the eyes. "What happened to you?" He asked as he looked at my stomach and was obviously hurt by something. "Was she the cause?" He asked in anger as he touched my stomach. I wanted to flinch at his touch. But in his eyes I only felt safe as I looked into them. So I let him touch me. "It's a long story, Alpha Fang."
