Chapter 10

M.D.I'll admit. I started to like Mike a little even though he was kind of an ass. It's kind of tragic that he is going to have to die soon. But, I didn't want to waste the whole day on him because I had other plans later. So, I decided to make it quick.I waited until everyone at the party left. He was the last one to be out of the house for obvious reasons. So I stopped him right before he got inside his car.He was surprised to see me at first, but then he smiled."What are you doing out here?" he asked.I smiled back and walked closer to him. "What you did back there wasn't very nice, you know," I said and wrapped my arms around his neck.Mike chuckled. "You don't seem terribly bothered by it.""Would you have cared if I was bothered by it?" I countered. What he is about to answer will determine how his death was going to be. Quick and painless or slow and fun.He reached over and touched my cheek. "Don't

Chapter 11

MARINAI walked in on chaos again.Oh, god, not this again, I thought as I looked at the patrol cars and news vans upfront.I should just keep walking, I thought to myself and did just that. Maybe this wasn't anything new. They were here for Eddie again. I should just ignore everyone and keep walking to my class. We had an exam coming up soon, so I knew today's class was important.I stepped around a couple that was making out at the building entrance then walked straight to my class."The class is canceled," someone behind me spoke as I pulled the door handle. I looked at the girl questioningly. She had long blonde hair and blue eyes. I searched my memory to see if I could remember her name, but nothing came up."Professor canceled the class because of Mike," she repeated.Mike? What's that supposed to mean? "What do you mean?" I asked."Mike was found dead near here this morning," she said.I gasped. I

Chapter 12

MARINA"What the hell, Logan!" I exclaimed as I realized who was holding me hostage."Sorry, Marina. I thought you were mad at me, so I wanted to catch you before you went home," he said in a manner of apology."So, you decided to grab me and scare the crap out of me? What the fuck is wrong with you?" I said irritably. I kind of felt bad about yelling at him as he looked uncomfortable, but at the same time, he shouldn't scare me like this."I'm really sorry. I wasn't thinking," he said."What do you want, Logan?" I asked."Well, I wanted to check on you and see if you were okay," Logan said.I squinted my eyes. Since when did he care about my well-being? "Why wouldn't I be, okay?""I mean...you and Mike looked pretty cozy at the party. At least in the beginning anyway," he said."I have nothing to do with what happened to him!" I shrilled."Shhhhh!" a woman with grey hair wearing a black blouse was glaring at me.

Chapter 13

LOGANIt was Saturday afternoon, but I was back on campus. Eta Phi Sigma was throwing its annual fundraising festival at the university. Normally, I wouldn’t bother with events like these, but I heard things go crazy at the end of it. I wasn’t going to miss taking pictures of everything that unfolded this ear.But everyone seemed to be on edge, and no one looked like they were having fun. The two murders must’ve shaken everyone to their core. I don’t blame them.I suddenly saw Marina. Weird, this wasn’t exactly her scene. Marina liked to stay home or read quietly in her room since she didn’t have a lot of friends. I’ve never seen her being out and about, attending college events. Then I saw a guy approaching her. I’ve never seen him before. He had long black hair, and he was taller than me. Her face lit up at the sight of him, and jealousy welled inside the pit of my stomach. Who was that, and why was she sm

Chapter 14

MARINAI ended up having a lot of fun with Jason. We went around and played games at the little booths set up by his fraternity brothers. He made me laugh a lot which I very much needed with all the things that were going on with my life.At the end of the day, he insisted on driving me home, so I agreed. I told him to park two blocks away from my house because I didn’t want my mom to know I was on a date with someone.“Thank you for inviting me to this thing and driving me home. I had fun,” I said and offered him a smile. He smiled back. “It’s my pleasure. I hope this isn’t the last time we get to hang out.”I shook my head. I would like to see him again too. I spent all day with him, yet he was never too forward or aggressive. He didn’t even try to kiss me yet. “I want to see you again too,” I said quietly.“Good. I’m glad,” he said and took my hand in his. &ldqu

Chapter 15

MARINAI woke up early in the morning and checked my phone but was disappointed. Jason didn’t text me. Maybe he decided he wasn’t interested in it after we hung out.But it didn’t feel like that when we kissed last night.I still had a throbbing headache from last night but decided to ignore it and go to school. At least there would be a chance to see Jason if I went. Besides, I needed to be as far away from my mom as possible.I felt a certain dread at the pit of my stomach as I walked inside the campus. These past few weeks had been crazy. After hearing about two dead bodies, I was starting to be scared to come in. I’m sure everyone felt the same way.The campus was nearly empty as the classes didn’t start yet. I was about Forty minutes early. Maybe I should’ve stayed in bed a little longer.I saw the things from the festival yesterday were missing as they had started to tear the booth down. They must&rs

Chapter 16

MARINAI knew what this special agent lady was thinking about. She was looking at my lips that were stained with red lipstick. She was silently accusing me of killing them because I was wearing the same color of lipstick the killer used to draw those symbols. For the first time since everything had happened, I was terrified. What if all the evidence is pointing at me for a reason? What if I did murder those boys and didn't remember? No, that's impossible. I was not a murderer. Besides, I liked Jason. He was the one who was nice to me. We kissed, and everything was wonderful. So why was he dead? Why?"Are you okay? You look pale," Special Agent Danna commented. "Did I rattle with my s

MARINA"Is this really okay?" Logan said as he took my shirt off.I nodded. "I want to be with you," I said. I didn't know where all my confidence was coming from, but I wanted him to go farther than just kissing. I wanted him to touch me all over and make me feel more. Maybe I just wanted to feel him so I could forget about all the horror that was happening around me."Wait," I whispered as he started to kiss my body.He looked up, and I saw sadness in his eyes. "Do you want me to stop?"I almost laughed. Does he think I'm asking him to stop? "No, I just wanted to say that...it's risky. If I'm too loud, my mom might hear us from her bedroom."Logan chuckled lightly. "Then I guess you better make sure you don't moan too much," he leaned down and kissed my cheek.I shivered. "Easy for you to say," I whined. I let out a soft moan as he lightly touched one of my nipples with his tongue. "I can't help it," I said.He took my hand.

Chapter 18

MARINAI instinctively looked at myself as soon as I woke up. I sighed in relief. There was no blood. But Logan was gone. I was suddenly worried. I didn't remember saying goodnight to him last night. I never saw him leave. My body was so exhausted that I couldn't keep my eyes open. What if something happened to him. What if I killed him and forgot about it? Maybe that's what happened with the others.I laughed out loud. I was being ridiculous now.I put some clothes on and left the house. I had a class in a few hours, so I figured I'd start walking now. I couldn't wait to find a job so I could save enough money and buy a car. Walking to school every day was tiring, and relying on my mother for money was not fun.I almost screamed when I saw Logan standing outside my house and smiling. Relief washed all over my body. He wasn't dead!I ran into his arms and kissed him passionately."Mmm...I could get used to this every morning,"

Chapter 19

"Dawn?" Logan raised his eyebrows."Yes, how do you know her?" I asked.Logan hesitated. "It's nothing. We kind of had a thing," he said.I looked at him with surprise. Somehow, I couldn't imagine Logan having a thing with Dawn. It's not that she was out of his league or anything. On the contrary, Logan was handsome with his piercing gray eyes and sharp jaw. He could easily get any girl if he really tried, but somehow I couldn't imagine him trying. Especially not with a girl like Dawn, who was a little out there."What? You don't believe me?" He chuckled."I do. I just don't understand. How did you meet her, and why didn't you tell me?" I asked.Logan shrugged. "It was nothing, really. I met her at a summer camp last year, and we had a short fling. She wanted to continue dating afterward, but I didn't feel like having a long-distance relationship with her, so I said no. I had no idea she was going to move into this university.""So, y
