Chapter 1

Isabella "Kill him! He is dangerous, shows no mercy." A roar of loathing consumed the mountains at the instruction, as they charged towards the man approaching at top speed on a motorbike - Ecosse Spirit ES1. He was covered with a helmet but long jet black hair protruded down his neck, making me wonder if it was a woman. Nonetheless, his appearance made it impossible for it to be a woman. His tank top left his big strong muscles exposed. I held my chest in panic, as I watched like a hawk in shock at the horror before me. Hundreds of vampires raced to him, sneering with angry growls. He halted with a stunt, his motorbike circled in its spot, generating a whirlwind of dust that created a fog around him. He ducked as countless vampires lunged at him, causing them to fall on their faces. The sound of their growl echoed through the mountain. The man pulled off his helmet, using it to defend in a circular motion, instantly breaking the head of many vampires simultaneously. Blood gushed ou

Chapter 2

I woke from another nightmare. Only this time Cassandra wasn't here. I was in my room under the comfort of a duvet. I couldn't hear the movement of the maids but could feel a strange presence around me. I must have slept for too long because everything was neatly arranged. Not how it was when I went to see my father. My father, the thought of him jolted me to a sitting position. I have to see him but then I noticed a man is sitting on my lucky chair beside my bed. My brain worked extra hard to pull out memories as he stared at me solemnly. A Flood of memories began to rush in. "Father! Where is he? Where is my father?" I pleaded with Prince Marcus, tears trimmed down my cheeks. He glared coldly at me. I couldn't tell if it was the coldness of the death of my father or one he just felt towards me. I wasn't in the right frame of mind to process all this. He didn't try to console me and sounded rather raspy. "He is dead and buried. You weren't up to it. You didn't have the strength to b

Chapter 3

Supreme Alpha Jade My pack, the Moon Star park was the most secure, covered by the forest with traps to turn intruders away. Some areas were deadly as ripping life in an instant. I just finished my early morning training with my pack warriors and decided to let my wolf, Navajo out on a run. This was the first time I met my warriors after the just-ended war and coronation of the title Supreme Alpha. I dread the title so much but have to accept it for the sake of peace. The title is safer with me than the unscrupulous power-hungry Kings and Alphas out there. I haven't stopped mourning my lost warriors, refraining from food and not letting my wolf out as punishment for my inability to protect them. Every loss lays heavy on my shoulders. “Alpha, the borders are secured. There are no intruders,” my Beta and best friend Duke gave his morning report. I shook my head in contradiction. “Wrong. Gather a few warriors and follow my lead.” He nodded his head and beckoned a few warriors while

Chapter 4

Supreme Alpha Jade   Just as expected, Duke tailed behind me to my office. There was so much to do but I couldn't concentrate on anything. I was grateful for his company. "You know you can't hide it for long right?" He asked with concern. I knew he was right but I couldn't admit it. I massaged my nape thoughtfully. "Yes, but I can reject her." He scowled, seemingly displeased. "You will regret it." "My father regretted having a mate so how would I regret not having one? It's for the safety of our pack. She isn't from here which makes her allegiance questionable."  I was trying to find a way to justify my decision. My pack has become the strongest because I heeded the warning against mates. All the defeated Alphas had mates and it made it impossible for me to be defeated because I had none. "How do you know if you haven't spoken to her? My mate saved my life." I turned to the window. Recalling how I saw

Chapter 5

Isabella My eyes met two beautiful yellow pairs when I regained consciousness. I could recall falling into a ditch and being sure I was going to die till a strong hand pulled me out. The two pairs of eyes belonged to the most beautiful face I'd ever seen. She was so sweet and gentle but I couldn't acquaint myself much. I wasn't sure whether I was at the right place at this moment.  "You are awake. Let's get you washed up. You have to meet our Alpha." The smile never left her face when she spoke. Then I realized I was still a mess from falling into the ditch. The servant clothes I wore to disguise myself were dirty and I guessed I looked dirty. "Your Alpha?" I heard myself asking. She nodded, helping me out of the bed to the bathroom. I was embarrassed to ask her to help take my bath but she smiled and helped me.  "Yes, our Alpha. You were lucky he got there in time to save you," she said while she held out some clothes for me

Chapter 6

Isabella "It's the Alpha's instruction," Duke calmly said before he turned around and went back to the Alpha's office. Blevine turned to me and her sweet smile returned. "I think you should rest. We can go shopping after training tomorrow," she suggested while she led me upstairs. I had mixed feelings about everything. Blevine was good to me. The Alpha saved me. I'm I a bad person by pretending to have amnesia? What about my kingdom? Also, I couldn't stop thinking about why the Alpha would let me sleep in the room next to his. My late father would never let a stranger so close to his room, not even important guests. The guest room was the best he would offer. "This is your room. The first one is the Alpha's and mine is directly opposite yours. I will prepare something for us to eat while you familiarize yourself with your new environment." She turned around and went downstairs. I would have loved to help her but I don't know anything about cooking

Chapter 7

Supreme Alpha Jade It wasn't up to five minutes when Duke returned to my office. I knew he had so many questions. Well, I didn't think I had the answers but I was ready to explain as much as I could.  “Will you keep her here?” He sounded rather disturbed. It seemed that problems never ceased to compound. "I don't know but she has to train for as long as she is here. I noticed a few things.” I gazed out of the window to nothing in particular. The mountain view I enjoyed so much was unable to capture my attention this time as I tried to accept reality. “She doesn’t smell like us and she claims to not remember a thing. I didn’t start interrogating her and she broke down," I tried to explain as clearly as I could but it seemed I was rather trying to convince myself that I had a solution. There was silence for a while and it helped me to reminisce over everything that transpired. "What do you intend to do?” Duke was the fir

Chapter 8

Isabella I tried but I couldn't sleep after the nightmare. Blevine and Duke had left after I assured them I was fine but I wasn't. This was different. It felt like a message was being conveyed through the terror. it was telling me something just as the nightmares I had about the Supreme Alpha. It was so real I could feel the heat of the fire from the two people thrown into it. I missed Cassandra, wishing she was here to give me clarity.  I couldn't see the face of the one giving the command but he was terrible, an epitome of evil. However, I couldn't help the disappointment on the Alpha's face when I couldn't tell him the dream. What if it was something that would make him realize I was a Mage without powers? I couldn't risk it. It was when Blevine came to my room with some clothes and a cup of coffee that I realized I had been awake for two hours but I could still get some sleep. "It's not yet morning, why the rush?" I was quite lucid seeing

Chapter 9

Isabella He lifted me from the ground, dusting the dirt off my clothes. I was still in awe and didn't know what to say. The distance from his training group to where I was was very far. Much further than the distance between Beta Duke and me. How was he able to reach here in time to save me from hitting the floor? I contemplated whether I should ask him but rather said, "thank you." "You've done well enough for the first day. You should take the rest of the day off to rest your muscles," he smiled faintly. I couldn't understand him. A few hours ago, he looked like a vicious storm, roaring like thunder. Now, he was gentle and soft as a lake. Besides, how did he know about my performance? Was he watching me all this while? I stared at Beta Duke. After all, he was my trainer. "I think so too. Your performance was great," he acknowledged. I was elated and satisfied that my hard work paid off eventually but I was still scared for the next training. I'm so scar

Chapter 10

Isabella I was taken aback. His gaze held mine and I couldn't lower it. I seemed to be bound to some kind of spell. I didn't know what to do and neither could I control my fears. If I was caught, it would mean betrayal and that would only mean death. That was Prince Marcus's warning. I have seen both sides of the Alpha and it scared me to the bone. "Jade, I'm going to shower," Beta Duke's voice interrupted the fearful moment. I lowered my gaze instantly but could still feel his heated gaze on me the whole time. "Me too." Alpha Jade responded to him. His eyes were still glued on me. "You should wait in my office." He raised himself from the table and headed upstairs after Beta Duke. I felt a lump in my throat. My tongue felt like it was swollen and too heavy, I broke out in a cold sweat while I made my way to his office behind the packhouse. Some of the warriors I had seen on the training park were guarding his door but they instantly t
