Supreme Alpha Jade

My pack, the Moon Star park was the most secure, covered by the forest with traps to turn intruders away. Some areas were deadly as ripping life in an instant. I just finished my early morning training with my pack warriors and decided to let my wolf, Navajo out on a run.

This was the first time I met my warriors after the just-ended war and coronation of the title Supreme Alpha. I dread the title so much but have to accept it for the sake of peace. The title is safer with me than the unscrupulous power-hungry Kings and Alphas out there.

I haven't stopped mourning my lost warriors, refraining from food and not letting my wolf out as punishment for my inability to protect them. Every loss lays heavy on my shoulders.

“Alpha, the borders are secured. There are no intruders,” my Beta and best friend Duke gave his morning report.

I shook my head in contradiction. “Wrong. Gather a few warriors and follow my lead.”

He nodded his head and beckoned a few warriors while the rest charged towards the other areas of the forest. I was surprised he didn't ask any questions. He too has been devastated from the war just like me.

We took off our clothes, shifted into wolf form, and strutted to the border of our pack. I could feel a strange presence and couldn't feel better till we checked it. It was a supremacy thing. The title carried the powers needed to help me maintain the peace we have now.

Not everyone was happy with my coronation, especially some of the Alphas of other packs, the Mages and the Vampires but I cared less. Navajo had been restless and took off sprawling relentlessly, diving towards the border of our pack.

The sound of a shrill got me to shift to human form, speeding on my toes. Another shrill was enough to draw me to one of my ditches. A figure sank so fast, I couldn't capture the image but I dived in time to grab hold of a frail arm, pulling it out instantly. Duke and the warriors shifted at the same time, jostled with uncertainty. A female. Not what I anticipated.

A strange force as that of an electric current shot through me when I drew out the feather weighed body. I instructed Duke to move the warriors to check the borders, clasping the body in my arm. Navajo was aggressive, a word tore from his mouth, “Mate.”

Aside from the title of supremacy, my next hated word was 'Mate.' That name painted a black history in my heart therefore, I do not want a mate.

“The ether must have made her unconscious. Take her to the pack doctor. I will check the end of the border.” I shoved my unwanted mate gently into Duke's arms because I didn't like the strange feeling gushing through me with her closeness.

“No, I will go with you,” Duke said to my dread. I knew that he wanted to have my back but right now, I needed him to get my mate far away from me.

“Don’t worry about me. It’s either she was being chased or she was conspiring with someone.” A loud clang of thunder roared, just as I ended my sentence. Heavy rain followed instantly. “This was the doing of a Mage. Washing the traces of their scent and footsteps. "Go now and be fast," I told Duke.

The Mages were my strongest contenders. Their King killed most of my best warriors with his powers. I had to use a special gift I had never used before. Heat vision - allows me to fire two thick laser-like beams of intensified heat in the form of heat irradiated speed or fiery-like beams. Well, using that power to kill the Mage King with the help of Duke had dire consequences.

Life needed to be exchanged and one dear to me at that. Duke's life was being taken but he was saved by his mate Blevine, a hybrid and our pack doctor. In return, two of my best warriors were taken. I don't think I will ever use that power again. I don't regret using it during the war because it saved the life of my remaining warriors. The late Mage King doesn't have an heir therefore, the strongest in the royal lineage was Prince Marcus.

Not being directly birthed by the King or not married to his seed, he can never be as strong as the former, which weakened the potency of the Mage Kingdom. Whichever mage crossed this territory, I had to investigate. I shifted back to wolf form for Navajo to take over. Duke opened his mouth to speak but clamped it shut.

I was about to delve towards the border but Navajo wouldn’t barge. His claws dug into the wet ground. 'Nobody should touch our mate,' he roared in my mind. Fury encamped me. The rain was becoming heavier which meant every delay counted. As expected, the scent I was tracing was being masked with the scent of the rain. I shifted back to my human form.

“You already know that I don’t want a mate.” I was furious and forgot to say it through mind-link. Duke and my warrior's eyes widened in a stupor which only meant they had heard.

“This remains between everyone present here. No one must know that she is my mate. After her interrogation, I will decide on what to do," I whirled around and said. What will I do with a mate? Damn the moon goddess for doing this after everything we have been through. She will have it from me tonight.

I turned around, taking her gently from Duke. My body stiffened. Those sparks began again. Damn the fucking mate bond. It's worse than I thought. Instantly I swept her across my shoulders, hoping it would reduce the connection but it didn't. Navajo was calm, feeling his mate close. He doesn't agree with me not wanting a mate which is a betrayal from my wolf but he's also a part of me that I can't live without.

I caught sight of some members of my pack gawking with confusion all over their faces when I was getting close to the pack hospital. I wanted to ask what was making them gawk when it smashed me that I was still naked after my shift. I galloped away so fast I didn't have time to slip into some of the clothes we kept in nylon bags at vantage points in the forest.

Nudity wasn’t something sacred among the werewolves but it was tangible enough to dress up after shifting back to human form. I met their stares with a scorn which made them Coward in fear. The rain had stopped as suddenly as it began but my mate was still dripping wet with mud.

I laid her gently on the hospital bed, instantly moving away despite Navajo's urge to stay closer to her. Blevine arrived at the emergency room just as Duke arrived with clothes for me to wear. I thanked him and slipped them on.

“So it’s true. The rumours are true. Who is she?" Blevine asked with unrest as she began to examine her.

"I don't know. I felt a strange presence within our borders during our training session and moved towards it. She had fallen into one of our traps before I could reach her and she's now unconscious, most probably because of the ether," I narrated, leaving out the mating part even though I couldn't hide it from her for long. Duke will definitely tell her. It was difficult for werewolves to keep secrets from their destined mates. The ether is a chemical that causes unconsciousness, making it easy for us to catch perpetrators. It shouldn't take long for it to wear off from a werewolf.

I felt Blevine shiver slightly. "Who could she be? Was she trespassing, was she lost?" She was worried and couldn't hide it as she tried to wake her.

Almost every part of her body was covered in mud and being incompletely washed with the rain, she was a mess. Her hair looked ashy brown, her face and other parts were covered in dirt.

"We don't know," Duke responded, giving me a slight wink. I knew he was trying to prove to me that my secret was safe with him. Blevine continued with his work just as I heard someone sneeze. Before I spoke, there was another sneeze.

My unwanted mate seemed to regain consciousness and I couldn't help the unease creeping in. She will feel the mate bond too which meant I wouldn't be able to hide it anymore. For the first time, I didn't know what to do. I wanted to reject her but Navajo wasn't on my side with that decision. I was so torn. I needed to prepare myself for this, mainly without Navajos' aggression.

"Get her cleaned up and send her to my office," I said to Blevine. I whirled around and left before my mate opened her eyes. I will speak with her in private without Navajo. Perhaps, I will have the courage to reject her.

Supreme Alpha Jade Just as expected, Duke tailed behind me to my office. There was so much to do but I couldn't concentrate on anything. I was grateful for his company. "You know you can't hide it for long right?" He asked with concern. I knew he was right but I couldn't admit it. I massaged my nape thoughtfully. "Yes, but I can reject her." He scowled, seemingly displeased. "You will regret it." "My father regretted having a mate so how would I regret not having one? It's for the safety of our pack. She isn't from here which makes her allegiance questionable." I was trying to find a way to justify my decision. My pack has become the strongest because I heeded the warning against mates. All the defeated Alphas had mates and it made it impossible for me to be defeated because I had none. "How do you know if you haven't spoken to her? My mate saved my life." I turned to the window. Recalling how I saw

Isabella My eyes met two beautiful yellow pairs when I regained consciousness. I could recall falling into a ditch and being sure I was going to die till a strong hand pulled me out. The two pairs of eyes belonged to the most beautiful face I'd ever seen. She was so sweet and gentle but I couldn't acquaint myself much. I wasn't sure whether I was at the right place at this moment. "You are awake. Let's get you washed up. You have to meet our Alpha." The smile never left her face when she spoke. Then I realized I was still a mess from falling into the ditch. The servant clothes I wore to disguise myself were dirty and I guessed I looked dirty. "Your Alpha?" I heard myself asking. She nodded, helping me out of the bed to the bathroom. I was embarrassed to ask her to help take my bath but she smiled and helped me. "Yes, our Alpha. You were lucky he got there in time to save you," she said while she held out some clothes for me

Isabella "It's the Alpha's instruction," Duke calmly said before he turned around and went back to the Alpha's office. Blevine turned to me and her sweet smile returned. "I think you should rest. We can go shopping after training tomorrow," she suggested while she led me upstairs. I had mixed feelings about everything. Blevine was good to me. The Alpha saved me. I'm I a bad person by pretending to have amnesia? What about my kingdom? Also, I couldn't stop thinking about why the Alpha would let me sleep in the room next to his. My late father would never let a stranger so close to his room, not even important guests. The guest room was the best he would offer. "This is your room. The first one is the Alpha's and mine is directly opposite yours. I will prepare something for us to eat while you familiarize yourself with your new environment." She turned around and went downstairs. I would have loved to help her but I don't know anything about cooking

Supreme Alpha Jade It wasn't up to five minutes when Duke returned to my office. I knew he had so many questions. Well, I didn't think I had the answers but I was ready to explain as much as I could. “Will you keep her here?” He sounded rather disturbed. It seemed that problems never ceased to compound. "I don't know but she has to train for as long as she is here. I noticed a few things.” I gazed out of the window to nothing in particular. The mountain view I enjoyed so much was unable to capture my attention this time as I tried to accept reality. “She doesn’t smell like us and she claims to not remember a thing. I didn’t start interrogating her and she broke down," I tried to explain as clearly as I could but it seemed I was rather trying to convince myself that I had a solution. There was silence for a while and it helped me to reminisce over everything that transpired. "What do you intend to do?” Duke was the fir

Isabella I tried but I couldn't sleep after the nightmare. Blevine and Duke had left after I assured them I was fine but I wasn't. This was different. It felt like a message was being conveyed through the terror. it was telling me something just as the nightmares I had about the Supreme Alpha. It was so real I could feel the heat of the fire from the two people thrown into it. I missed Cassandra, wishing she was here to give me clarity. I couldn't see the face of the one giving the command but he was terrible, an epitome of evil. However, I couldn't help the disappointment on the Alpha's face when I couldn't tell him the dream. What if it was something that would make him realize I was a Mage without powers? I couldn't risk it. It was when Blevine came to my room with some clothes and a cup of coffee that I realized I had been awake for two hours but I could still get some sleep. "It's not yet morning, why the rush?" I was quite lucid seeing

Isabella He lifted me from the ground, dusting the dirt off my clothes. I was still in awe and didn't know what to say. The distance from his training group to where I was was very far. Much further than the distance between Beta Duke and me. How was he able to reach here in time to save me from hitting the floor? I contemplated whether I should ask him but rather said, "thank you." "You've done well enough for the first day. You should take the rest of the day off to rest your muscles," he smiled faintly. I couldn't understand him. A few hours ago, he looked like a vicious storm, roaring like thunder. Now, he was gentle and soft as a lake. Besides, how did he know about my performance? Was he watching me all this while? I stared at Beta Duke. After all, he was my trainer. "I think so too. Your performance was great," he acknowledged. I was elated and satisfied that my hard work paid off eventually but I was still scared for the next training. I'm so scar

Isabella I was taken aback. His gaze held mine and I couldn't lower it. I seemed to be bound to some kind of spell. I didn't know what to do and neither could I control my fears. If I was caught, it would mean betrayal and that would only mean death. That was Prince Marcus's warning. I have seen both sides of the Alpha and it scared me to the bone. "Jade, I'm going to shower," Beta Duke's voice interrupted the fearful moment. I lowered my gaze instantly but could still feel his heated gaze on me the whole time. "Me too." Alpha Jade responded to him. His eyes were still glued on me. "You should wait in my office." He raised himself from the table and headed upstairs after Beta Duke. I felt a lump in my throat. My tongue felt like it was swollen and too heavy, I broke out in a cold sweat while I made my way to his office behind the packhouse. Some of the warriors I had seen on the training park were guarding his door but they instantly t

Supreme Alpha Jade It's an uneasy feeling but it won't go away. Isabella was hiding something. It was as if she couldn't trust me enough to let it out. Well, I don't trust her too but that's just because she makes it hard to be trusted. Is she my weakness? Yes and a great one at that. As soon as she got to the training park in Blevine's leggings and shirt, Navajo got excited. I was too but training times were very serious. I tried my best to ignore her presence only to realize all my trainees were just gawking at her beauty. I couldn't penalize them because I hadn't introduced her. Navajo got aggressive when I made Duke take her further away from us but even I wasn't comfortable with her being far from me. While they trained, I stole glances her way. Call me a stalker but without her wolf and not knowing who she was, she still needed my protection. I could feel her punches as light as a feather when Duke was training her so I told him to give her some physica

Jade The two hours Bella spent in that castle was the most nervous two hours of my life. So many fearful questions wove through my psyche. The silent what-ifs and whatnots. When Damien cast the spell, he seemed to be in a trance so I couldn't find out how things were going in there. Duke was just as worried as I was but tried to comfort me. I knew how much he cared for Isabella and almost died because of her so I knew that whatever he felt was genuine. My eyes were glued to my wristwatch as my nervousness turned to despair with every minute that passed without her showing up. I wanted so much to speak with Damien but startling him was tantamount to breaking the spell bond between him and Bella so I kept my eyes fixed on the entrance. Suddenly, he breathed deeply and I knew the link was broken. The two hours were up but Isabella hadn't returned. Has anything happened to her? My attempt to mindlink didn't connect, I broke out in cold sweats, opening the d

IsabellaFinally, I was able to convince Jade to let me go but I felt a missing part of me when he left for training. I wanted to go with him but he refused. He insisted that he needed to do this alone. After he left, I looked back at the state of the pack and began giving out instructions. I didn't think they would obey me at first but they all did. The only surprise we could give Jade was to ensure that the pack was safe and clean in his absence. Duke led the team of warriors to reset the traps that had been destroyed by the psycho Prince Marcus. We changed into working gears and began working tirelessly, lifting trees, burning debris and clearing the pack. While we cleaned the packhouse and mourned Aligiza, the warriors cleaned the strong city. Pack members cleaned their houses, which made it easier. When we were done, we moved to the streets, clearing everywhere before removing fallen trees in the forest. What we couldn't remove was the dirt on the walls of the bui

JadeThe greatest opportunity presented itself. War was a destroyer. I thought it was going to be hard to exert my revenge but Prince Marcus made it easier on me. For as long as none of my pack members was involved, I was void of all fears. My greatest concern was that of losing any of my pack members. I saw the horror in her eyes when she saw me today. I could guess the question she kept asking herself was how I survived. When I attacked the Supreme Alpha's pack, I was amazed that he wasn't leading the war himself but everyone he entrusted was up to the task. It was as if he was leading himself. I watched them for a while before joining and was amazed at how Damien handled the vampires. His skills had greatly improved.I looked around for Isabella, knowing she had also received a lot of training, I intended to distract the Supreme Alpha and kidnap her but it didn't work out as planned. Aside from her capabilities, he didn't allow her to join the war, which showed just how much he cared for her. For someone who opportuned on every strength he got, that was a remarkable decision.U

Isabella When Jade told me about the moon goddess, I was filled with profoundness. She was real. Cassandra told me it was just a myth but I didn't believe her. Was it that she didn't know or she was hiding something? I wish I could see the moon goddess too but it seemed she only revealed herself to Jade and most importantly, because of his position. I was glad he confided in me and shared this secret with me. Our night was ruined but it was worth it since it concerned the safety of our pack. We couldn't spend the night in the cabin as planned, and Blevine needed me to try out my dress for the coronation, I couldn't wait. When we got to the packhouse, Blevine and I made our way to her room with Tatiana. The little girl was excited to be around us. She kept jumping all around as I watched her with delight. I didn't want to hide anything from her anymore and for the moon goddess being my guide, it was essential that she knew, but I couldn't tell her now.I kissed Isabella on the forehead. Her curiosity peaked, as she stared caringly at me."No, don't worry. Please stay here. I will be back before you know it," I said and pulled on my trousers. JadeI have a great weakness for losses. The pain penetrated so deep, I was unable to endure it, not even for a second. It was a fact. The loss of my warriors affected me so bad but the difference this time was having someone to comfort me and share in my grief. Someone who loved me as much as I loved her. It made so much difference. Her presence was enough to take away the pain I felt. If Isabella wasn't here, I would have mourned their death for weeks unending. 'Our mate is the best,' Rudina giggled with excitement. I knew she would because she wanted to be let out even though she couldn't indulge much in physical activities. I was equally excited to have fun without having to think about wars. I was going to be coronated as the Luna of the Moonstar pack tomorrow and I didn't know how it was going to be.I've never been part of any ceremony and neither have I ever attended one. Despite everything, I know that Blevine would have my back. I walked leisurely towards the forest, hand in hand with Jade. Everyone we met on the way was excited, bowing slowly to us. Jade had allowed everyone to celebrate as they wanted. It was dependent on each and everyone to decide on what to do. You could host a mini party at home or go to the club but whatever it was, it was supposed to make one happy. This was what we chose to do. The air of freedom surrounding us as we walked around was something I had never felt before. It was wonderful and I

Jade's expression was grim when we made our way to the forecourt of the packhouse. I felt invisible by the crowd waiting in the courtyard. My little hands were quite lost inside Jade's big ones, as he held me protectively. I could feel his heart aching. The loss had embittered him. In a time like this, he exhumed a cold aura that shut me out from asking him any questions.Duke had gone to open the underground safe house, letting out the women and children. The smiles on their faces were priceless. I detangled my hands from Jades' when a little body hugged me from the back. I turned around to face her."How are you, Tatiana?" I was instantly filled with excitement at the sight of the little girl. She was radiant and bloomed with smiles."I'm fine, Auntie Isabella. Where is Papa?"
