Chapter 81

Ugh! What a long night! Supper went well, I was up late making sure the kids had plenty of food made, so that all they had to do was heat it up. Ity and Brenna took turns waking up to feed the puppy all night. They started getting a tad cranky, but they knew that it would all be worth it to have another wolf in the wild. They really didn’t want to see the baby die, just because they didn’t feel like getting up. I woke up, took my shower, got dressed and walked downstairs. When I reached the main floor, I saw Adrien and Julien sitting with Brenna and Ity.   I smiled, “Hey guys! How’s it going?” Adrien replied, “It’s going great with us. Poaching calls have almost completely stopped now, which is why we h

Chapter 82

When we reached King Mateo’s castle, I was taken aback by just the sheer size and beauty of the area. We got out of the vehicle, and I just wanted to get an up-close look at the plants. There were massive Cypress trees all over the place, and really pretty flowers in the gardens in front of the castle. There were purple Irises, Hibiscus, Blue Sage, and then I saw a bush I had never seen or heard of before. It had a strange-looking red flower on it. I asked Queen Judia, “What is that bush called. I have never seen that flower before.” She chuckled, “It’s called a Strawberry Bush. I had to ask about them too.” I smiled, “I’m definitely a fan.”  That was when I heard a deep growl, and I knew it wasn’t Aidinth. I looked around, then heard the growl ag

All heads turned to the direction of the gunfire. King Mateo’s face immediately turned red in anger, “This is what I was talking about.” I matched his gaze, “Let’s go.” He shook his head, “Not a chance, Princess. Aidinth, Rule, and I can handle it. I’m going to drop you and my queen off right here. I can’t have either of you getting hurt.” Alpha Arnou approaches us and says, “Ladies, we have lunch set up in the dining room for you. You are welcome to it.”   Queen Judia and I got off the boat as Alpha Arnou boarded it and they took off toward the gunfire. We both just stood on the dock, our warriors surrounding us, shaking our heads. I shrugged, “Oh well. I guess we really can’t argue with that. These babies are getting hungry anyway.” Queen Judia asked

As I played with Hugo, Aidinth took out his phone and started taking video of the ball game that we were playing. We had stopped playing fetch, and started playing a game similar to volleyball, except we didn’t have a net. The only objective was to keep the ball from touching the ground. I was laughing hard as I watched Hugo’s mouth barely make contact with the ball, then he would snap his jaw shut to make the ball pop up. I would get under the ball and slap it back to him. We played for two hours before he finally got tired and went to rest.   I walked back to the chair next to Aidinth and chuckled as I sat down. Aidinth asked, “You looked like you were having so much fun. We need to get you a pet. I know y

Sid got off my foot and slithered to the attached restroom to shift and put some clothes on.  He came out of the restroom chuckling, “I’m used to Luna Abby and Ashina knowing who I am, I just can’t believe you know me so well, already, Princess Chloe.” I laughed, “I have heard the stories all my life, Sid. I still love you, though.” I stood and hugged him tightly. He smiled, “I love you too, sweetie. So, you are doing another event in our neck of the woods now?” I nodded, “Sure am. I’m looking forward to seeing if we can be of any help.” King Mateo heard this as he was walking by and leaned in to whisper, “Even a small improvement is an improvement, and we will appreciate it a lot.” Sid nodded, “Amen!” I smiled, “You guys are giving us too much credit, but I will take it.” After dinner, we all sat in the sitting room and talked until I started yawning. Aidinth chuckled as he stood, “Looks like my princess is ready to get some sleep.” King Mateo laughed, “It sure does lo

As I was floating away, I kept staring at everyone else as they walked to the limo. It was almost as if they were in some kind of trance. Kina told me, “Aidinth’s dragon is trying to tell him, but it’s like he can’t hear him. I had no idea where I was going, but I yelled, “Queen Winnie! I need you here!” There was no reply. Apparently, no one can hear me. Saige cried, “I am trying to reach Queen Winnie too. I’m getting nothing. All we can do is hope the spell on Aidinth stops when he gets out of range.” I finally decided to just stop struggling and figure out where I’m going. It wasn’t long before Saige got excited, “I was able to reach your brothers! They are getting in touch with Queen Winnie and will meet Aidinth and everyone else at King Mateo’s castle.” I smiled, “You’re amazing Saige.” She smiled, “I know.” Suddenly, I dropped to the floor in a totally dark room. I have no clue where I am. I started feeling like I was being pushed down, and I tried to step out

Chapter 87

Aidinth POV This is so weird. I can feel myself walking toward the car after the meeting, but I feel like I'm forgetting something. I have no idea what it is, but it's not with me. I feel like I'm walking in a fog, and I can't speak a word, much less a full sentence. Apparently, King Mateo and Queen Judia are feeling the same way. As soon as we got back to the castle, Ryne and Rune Bergeron were waiting for us with Queen Winnie. As soon as I saw them, I felt like something was wrong. I saw Queen Winnie trying to cast a spell, but she was getting really aggravated. I approached her, and suddenly felt severe pain in my face. I was about to ask her why she was doing that to me, when suddenly the fog lifted, and I was instantly in full-blown panic. I asked Q

Chapter 88

Chloe POV As I’m laying in the dark, my head is pounding so hard, I can’t open my eyes. I just continue to lay here, pretending to be unconscious. Just to see if I can hear any other names besides my captor’s. When Rubeus walks back in the room, he is followed by another voice, “I told you to keep your grubby hands off her. She is mine. You have ruined her face!” Rubeus replies, “What did you want me to do, Richard? She wasn’t giving me what I wanted.” I hear the other guy ask, “And what were you wanting from her?” Suddenly I hear someone gasping for air, “I wanted to hear my future, but she wouldn’t tell me. She’s an oracle.” “This changes everything,” I hear Richard’s voice in deep thought, “Now I know she will not be going back to her friends. S

Chapter 89

The next three days went great. King Mateo’s castle was buzzing with excitement as we all pitched in to prepare for the event. King Mateo designed some flyers and sent some of the younger citizens of his kingdom to distribute them and tape them to storefront windows. Today is Wednesday, and we have our meeting with the city council. Aidinth, King Mateo, Sergio, Ryne, and Rule are all on my ass, trying to get me to stay away from the meeting. I reply, “Queen Winnie already put a spell on me that protects me from whatever he may try to get at me with. Besides, I fully intend on bringing this matter up to the council.” Aidinth begs, “Please baby, don’t go with us. We already told the mayor about it.” I hug him tightly, “How am I supposed to get over this if I can’t confront it? I don’t want to be seen as a weak victim.” He smiled, “I know, but I need my warrior to be safe too. How can we come to some kind of compromise?” King Mateo steps up, “Chloe, why don’t you attend the mee

Chapter 90

By Saturday morning, I’m ready for this event to be done and go back to our little cabin on the mountain. I want my kitchen, and my comfy couch where I fall asleep on Aidinth’s lap every time. I’m not really upset with anyone; I just miss my little piece of heaven on Earth. I get out of bed, take my shower, get dressed in a pair of black jeans and a white button up shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to my elbows. This is about as business casual as I can get, and I’m determined to be comfortable today. I walk down to the dining room, and immediately pour myself a cup of better attitude. I take a drink of it and the aroma alone is enough to improve my mood. I walk to King Mateo’s table and have a seat, just savoring my coffee. King Mateo is laughing at me, but I’m honestly not paying attention. I’m trying hard to be in a better mood. As we are sitting there, Aidinth walks into the dining room, grabs a couple donuts, and sits next to me, “You haven’t eaten anything? Let
