Chapter 101

“Mrs. Morgan, we meet again. Ready to take that boot off?” the doctor asked.   “Beyond ready!” Tabitha said excitedly.    “Alright. Let’s get an x-ray and see what’s going on with it. Are you still having tenderness anywhere else?”   “No. Everything else feels ok. I get headaches now and then but it’s not too bad.”   “Due to the nature of your head injury, you may get those from time to time. I would suggest cutting your hair shorter so that the headaches don’t happen as often.”    “I’ll take that under advisement.”   “Alright. You know the drill. Put the gown on and the nurse will come t

Chapter 102

"Oh. I guess I'm only remembering the most recent events before the accident. And there aren't many. I just keep getting flashes, little pieces, of things that have happened."   "What's important is how you feel now."   "I love Christian. He's stolen my heart. I like being with you. I guess it's different with kids. I don't know. Maybe I feel that mother-son bond with him and just don't realize it. I'd like to think over time my feelings for you will come back. But I have this nagging feeling sometimes when I get those flashes that something was wrong between us."   "I told

Chapter 103

Tabitha sat in the car for a few minutes after the salesman had shown her everything on the car. He'd hooked her phone up to the car. Mark had gotten her a new phone as the one she had, had a cracked screen due to the accident. Luckily, they had been able to transfer her data over. She looked up salons and put in the address on the GPS. She was going to do some things for herself today and try to figure out what she was going to do.   Once she pulled up at the salon, she walked in. She didn't have an appointment but they went ahead and took her anyway. She told them about her hair being messed up from the accident. She was going to have a complete spa day. She got into the chair for her pedicure and laid back. It felt so good to sit in it and have it massage her body. The guy started rubbing her feet and she felt like she was in heaven.

Chapter 104

"Mark?" she called out.   She heard the song change to Feel It and the bathroom door opened. Mark came out with a hat, mask, and a suit on complete with the tie. She raised an eyebrow until he started dancing. She watched him as he started rolling his hips.    He reached up and unbuttoned the suit jacket. He slipped it off, letting it hit the floor. He loosened his tie but kept it on. She watched as he unbuttoned the shirt while he swung his hips back and forth. Once the shirt was unbuttoned, he slid it off. His hands slid over his chest and stomach. He danced his way over to her.    He grabbed her and put his hand at the small of her back while he rolled his hips against her. He leaned b

Chapter 105

The next day, Tabitha woke up late. Mark had let her sleep in. She got up in enough time to kiss Christian goodbye for school. She was going to apply for a job with Valerie today if she had her way about it. She'd have to work her hours around her therapy but that shouldn't be too hard. She really wanted to get a job and feel like she was contributing to the household.    She got in the shower and got dressed. When she came out, Mark was sitting at the kitchen table. He had fixed breakfast for them. She kissed him good morning and sat down with him. He smiled and they ate. Halfway through, he slid a paper in front of her.   "This is your resume. You haven't had a job since we've been together other than planning Valerie's wedding, but this should do."

Chapter 106

Kevin had been home for three months. He didn’t like that he wasn’t able to look for Renee. He’d shown the conversations he’d had with her to Andy. Andy hadn’t been much help with them. He had gotten him a job at his law firm. He was a clerk there. It made a decent amount of money. He’d been saving as much of it as he could.  Kevin looked up private detectives and found one. He’d told him that he would go to Washington and investigate but Kevin had to pay all his expenses. Kevin was agreeable but he wasn’t sure he’d have enough. For now, the detective was willing to look into Christian. Kevin figured that was his only link to Renee. She may have been using a fak

Chapter 107

“You’re hurting me! Stop!” Tabitha yelled. Mark pushed her further into the bed as he took her body against her will. She hated him. Tears spilled down her cheeks as he hurt her over and over. Suddenly, she was running out of the bathroom and Mark caught her, throwing her on the bed and pinning her down.  “You’re not going anywhere. You’re mine now. Stop fighting me and things would go better for you.” “I hate you! I’ll never be with you willingly. I don’t belong to you!” Tabitha watched as the room changed and she was in a living room she didn’t recognize. What the hell was going on? A man walked in and sat beside her. She couldn’t s

Chapter 108

“Why don’t we look at the rest of this stuff and see what it says? Just don’t give up on her yet. You’ve done so much to find her. You’ve wasted so much of your life to find her. Don’t you think you owe it to yourself to at least confront her?”   “You’re right, Mom. I’ve wasted almost six years of my life trying to find a woman that never wanted me to find her. I mean, she even told me to stop looking for her. In those messages, she told me she had been trying to be happy with her life. It looks like she did exactly that.”   “I don’t know, Kevin. I don’t think she would have reached out to you if she didn’t still love you. I don’t think she would have stopped t

Chapter 109

Tabitha walked into the coffee shop and greeted everyone on the way to the back. She clocked in and grabbed her apron and order pad. Once she was ready, she walked back out to the front. Sarah went to the register and sat down behind it. It was her turn to start waiting on the tables and busing them.    She checked on each customer to see how they were doing. She kept feeling like someone was staring at her. When she came to the table in the corner, she saw a man sitting in front of an open computer. He looked up as she approached and her breath caught in her throat.   He was extremely handsome. She wasn't sure but it looked like he was checking her out. She walked up to him and she heard him say ‘Renee’. Her heart sped up and she wondered why. Why was

Chapter 110

Tabitha laughed. She knew Valerie would do it too. She’d probably cave eventually, but not right now. Valerie finally walked off to wait on a customer. Tabitha looked over towards Kevin’s table and saw he was on his computer. She felt like he was watching her but the hat covered his eyes. She noticed he had scooted closer to the end of the bench.    She got up and went to his table. Without asking, she sat down beside him. He looked up, startled as he was looking directly into her eyes. Tabitha couldn’t help but feel that she had done this before. Kevin had refused to tell her anything about her past or how she knew him. She was starting to wonder if he really had known her before the accident. Or was he really just some creep who was stalking her? Her eyes
