 Sunday morning was one of Jess’s favorite times. She often woke up and cooked pancakes, waffles or made any simple breakfast while in the company of Pete. They then ate leisurely in the apartment and ordered food for lunch as they made plans for the week. Part of this time was spent making love in various styles and any part of the house, because neither of them wanted to go anywhere on Sundays. However, today did not feel like an ordinary Sunday. First of all, neither Pete nor Jess were in the mood to wake up early. Jess had spent the night tossing and turning, and she had only gotten some sleep when the sun was rising. On the other hand, Pete had come back home late. He had been very drunk and was not willing to talk about the meeting with his mother. Each had been tormented by their own demons. Pete was disappointed that his mother was always choosing other people over him, while Jess was feeling guilty over Todd’s death.

 The Garcia mansion was a beautiful architectural wonder. Passersby often stopped and took photos of the grand house that sat in the middle of the beautifully landscaped gardens. The majority of people were envious of the occupants of this fine property. They often imagined what it would be like to be surrounded by this level of luxury and enjoy all the benefits of such wealth. She allowed him to visit her occasionally although she had adamantly refused to move back home. William also visited her often but he made sure that Pete was not present. It was becoming difficult to achieve this because Pete had moved into the house and he only left when he had other issues to deal with. Don was having a hard time trying to avoid both William and Pete while managing to spend some time with Amanda.  Jess had expected herself to cry after seeing all she had seen today, but it seemed her tears had been exhausted in the chapel. She walked to her car and sat for a minute while she tried to gather her thoughts. She did not want to go to William’s house because his mood had frightened her. However, after a few minutes, she convinced herself to go there so that she could pick up her stuff and then leave.
