I scurried over to the bathroom, and closed the door behind me. I was going to look for some medical supplies but I first needed to calm down.  My heart was racing through my chest and I was almost out of breath from the heat of the moment. I could feel Ruby yearn for her mate, calling out to him and asking for more. I on the other hand, I was trying to stay in control and fight the sudden urge to rip his clothes off and... uhm... yeah. No need to explain any further. Honestly, it kind of scared me. I never had any desire towards any guys before and... I don't even wanna think about it. Besides, there's no way he'd allow me to do anything like that, even if I wasn't the Omega... well, former Omega. A guy like him surely wouldn't want to be with a girl like me. I hobbled behind, trying my best to keep everything together. I don't know what came over me... I don't know why I did it but, when I saw him crying, I couldn't just walk away. I wanted to be there for him, comfort him... Ruby longed to be at his side as well, but in a much more intimate way so I had to convince her this wasn't the time. Nonetheless, I don't think I regret the gesture. He needed comfort and there wasn't anyone else around so it wasn't awkward... who am I kidding, I don't know what I was doing. I wasn't thinking, I just... I just did it. Somehow, I expected it to feel awkward and he'd push me away, but, it felt, right. Maybe I'm just overreacting, it was just a hug anyways. I'm sure anyone would've done the same. With that in mind, I continued to hobble my way through the thicket, slowly but surely reaching the cottage. Smoke... Why do I smell... smoke...? An eerie scent invaded my nostrils as my eyes struggled to open, irritated by something in the air. My entire body was in pain, my skin assaulted by a burning sensation. I tried to push up, but something heavy was crushing my shoulders, pinning me to the ground. I could feel something sharp poke at my back, making every movement pure agony. Debris blocked most of my vision, making it impossible for me to see anything or assess my whereabouts. I groaned, unable to move as panic slowly began to take over... I could hear distant voices, distorted by the echo of the ringing in my ears and I screamed for help. "HEELP!! I'M OVER HERE!" I didn't hear a response, but I felt small vibrations in the ground indicating someone was walking towards me. The following morning was pretty tough on the pack; the night had been pretty cold. Since most of us had nothing more but pants to cover ourselves and no mattress to sleep, we were all quite sore. A few ended up sleeping in their Wolf form to shield from the cold with their pelt, but even then sleeping wasn't very enjoyable. Ava and Jace's disappearance had taken its toll on the pack alongside the looming fatigue and overall boredom. Even though my Wolf healing had already kicked in, I was forced to stay at camp under Kira's orders. I just finished sending our few capable scouts for a quick patrol when I sat down near the Healer, watching intently as she worked on her smelly mixtures. I was always fascinated by her work and how something that seemed so natural to her seemed strange to me. I never bothered asking her about it though, fearful I'd break her focus.
