Chapter 21- Terrors of the Forest.

Wilson shouted at the horned-monkeys for the umpteenth time. He was furious and the monkeys seemed not to care, but continued to bounce on the tree branches and chattered noisily, obviously mocking him. His instincts were trying to tell him something but he was to upset to think clearly. As he prepared to try his luck again, a loud voice stopped him."You must be like the stupidest person on Earth! Do you think you can outsmart one of the smartest beast species to ever exist by letting your anger cloud your sense of judgement?"Wilson looked at the owner of the voice but said nothing and looked back at the horned-monkeys again. He watched their movements for a while before he turned back to respond to the young lady. She was already gone.'How did I not hear her leave?' He thought to himself.'Perhaps I am truly letting my anger cloud my senses.'He took in a deep breath and looked back at the monkeys and observed how the branches place them in ways tha

Chapter 22- Surviving the Forest

Two weeks after the monkey incident, Wilson was in a haggard carriage pulled by a horse and camel hybrid. A combination of fast and weather-enduring. He sat in the carriage looking out through the see-through curtain at the snow-filled plains. He sighed deeply, lost in thought. He reminisced on what had happened the past week after he had meticulously escaped from the clutches of death at the hands of those cunning, super strong, multicolored, horned monkeys. After running for hours, he stumbled on a thick bunch of interlocked vines that were seemingly warning him not to take a step further. Of course, he did not listen. He ran on, past the Vines and some thick evergreen trees until he got to a clearing that looked both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time."Where have I seen this before?" He asked himself aloud."I don't know, do you?" A voice suddenly said behind him, startling him. He turned around at an inhumane speed and shouted at the voice owner."Why

Chapter 23- Surviving the Forest 2

Wilson lived in the wild for a week. Never staying in a place for more than a day. The beasts of the forest seemed to hate him, constantly searching, or rather tracking him down. Or perhaps, they were just attracted by the sweet, sweet smell of cooked hyena flesh. It did not matter what kind of place he decided to seek shelter in, there would always be at least four different kinds of beasts coming after him, leaving him o choice but to be on the run. By the end of the week, he had changed locations twelve times, a maximum of four times in a day. Wilson sighed as he remembered the day he had to change locations four times in one day.He had skinned, sliced and cooked the entire bull-sized hyena over a spit fire. He was tired after a good day's work and was ready to sleep when he heard some chattering that immediately reminded him of those heinous horned-monkeys. He shivered in frustration -not fright- and anger."Oh no! This monkeys again!" He felt like crying.*Ooh!

Chapter 24- Surviving the Forest 3

"Huh! Who are you?" A small rodent said."What?" Wilson was stumped that a rodent could actually talk."I said, who are you?" The small rodent repeated.Wilson was too shocked to say a word. His mouth was hanging ajar."You do understand what I am saying, don't you?" The little rodent asked him."What are you?" Wilson finally managed to ask."I am Young! The smartest living rodent in all the world. Nice to meet you!" It extended a paw for a handshake. Wilson looked at paw in awe."You know it is rude to not receive a paw shake. And you should also tell me your name and title. It is rude to ask for other's names without giving yours back. Did your mother not teach you that when you were young?" Young shook it's head in pity and dropped its paw."Anyway, you are in the way of our home and my family will soon be here. It won't be nice to see you in our home and unlike me, they are very hostile with strangers so......" It was unable to finish its

Chapter 25- Long List of Requirements

"Hey! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up....." Wilson woke up. Someone was slapping his cheeks with every sentence. His cheeks stung badly. He quickly touched his cheeks and felt that they were swollen. He sprang to his feet, startling the girl. He looked at her in anger. She was the same and only girl that he had seen ever since he was broken out of jail."Are you really going to hit me?" She asked sweetly, blinking her eyes like a little girl and gently stood up and took a few steps backwards."Obviously!" Wilson answered and slowly cracked his knuckles. She snickered."You really are not afraid to hit your own teacher's beautiful granddaughter. Have you stopped to think about what he will do to you if you as much as touch a single hair on my head?" She asked.Wilson's fist hung in mid-air. She was right. Old man Jenkins would kill him. He slowly dropped his raised fist and even his voice became soft."Why did you have to slap me awake? You could have just use

Chapter 26

The carriage galloped through a bump startling Wilson out of his thoughts. He unconsciously reached for the small knives he kept hidden in his jacket sleeves. It was custom- made for him. A sort of reward for getting all the things on the list before the old man Jenkins arrived. The jacket had several tiny holes that were somehow capable of hiding something as large as a broadsword. The old man had explained to him that it had to do with spatial magic but he did not bother to listen. It was not like he knew enough about abilities to even attempt to understand what the old man was telling him. After all, where he came from was more or less primitive and nobody there knew about abilities or half-humans or nobility. He only just left for the city not quite long ago.Back to the requirements, he still did not know what they were required for. Old man Jenkins refused to say anything and the granddaughter was just as clueless."Hey, what was that all about?" He reached for the curtain with

Chapter 27 - Wilson vs Rainbow Snake

“Oh no!” Mow yelled out loud. He tried to control himself midair but he was moving too fast and the force was not his creation to begin with. Wilson jumped at the branch separating himself from Mow and the snake’s head. The snake’s head moved towards Mow as well, mouth wide open. It was obvious the snake wanted to finish him in one bite. Mow looked on in horror, Wilson tried to catch up and the snake had its mouth wide open and seemed to be smiling.Mow grabbed a tree branch and swung himself around the branch landing on it. The rainbow snake seemed startled. This is not how it was supposed to go. It stretched and swung its tail again at Mo but he kicked off the branch, leaped over the tail and landed on another branch just above the snake’s head. The rainbow snake saw this move as an insult. It straightened itself to Mow’s length and looked straight at him.*BANG*Wilson punched the snake’s head with as much strength as he could muster.“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” Wilson yelled in pain, h

Chapter 28 - How Rude!

*Ooh* *Ooh * *Aah* *Aah* The monkeys finally noticed him and their chattering became even more prominent. A horned-monkey at least two feet taller than Wilson dropped from the tree branch. Its fur was an intriguing blend of blue, white and grey.‘This monkey is definitely their community elder!’ Wilson thought to himself as he sat exasperatedly under the tree shade. At this point, the sun was setting over the horizon, not that it made much of a difference. After all, the trees were so densely packed, sun rays barely filtered through. The monkey looked curiously at him and then at his bag and inched closer to sniff at him.“Huh!! Oh thou great, handsome, benevolent and wisdom-filled elder of the monkey community. I humbly request a truce! To let bygones be bygones and for us to start afresh and on a clean slate!” Wilson said and smiled the biggest, sweetest smile his tired face could muster. The monkey elder’s curious face tilted in confusion as it contemplated. ‘How come this uni

Chapter 29 – Petty Old man Jenkins

The carriage rattled as it moved. Wilson banged his head against the surprisingly hard interior. He was sure old man Jenkins, who was doing all the riding and navigating, picked the carriage to punish him. Maybe there was even a better road but the old man chose this rough, potholed road with vines and roots creeping onto it. And with the ghostlike colors of these trees? Yes, it must be intentional! This petty, old man. Tsk. How long has this road been abandoned anyway? Wilson shook his head to chase away his troublesome thoughts, closed his eyes and tried to sleep, ignoring the several sudden movements.A sound jolted him awake and the movement of carriage ensured he fell off his seat, banging his head on the door opposite him.“Hey, kid! Come on out. Are you not tired of staying in there all the time? Go get us some food!” old man Jenkins spoke out.The sound of food woke him up properly.“Food?” Were they finally somewhere with some sort of civilization?“Yes! Food! Get out!”Wils

Chapter 30 - The Origin

Chapter 30 – The OriginAll the oldies, except old man Jenkins and the toothless cane lady, immediately had goosebumps. He was willing to sacrifice his one and only granddaughter for a cause. They did not know if they were to respect his decision or to keep their distance from a patriot of his level. Does that not mean he would absolutely give them, his childhood and teenagehood friends, up for the cause as well if he had to? How scary! They unconsciously stepped away from him. Who knows if he would suddenly go crazy and claim they were spying for the nobles. As unlikely as that was, nothing was impossible at this point. After all, he already gave up his last surviving blood to be brainwashed to avoid her compromising the revolution. And what’s more, none of them could take him on. That will be them asking for some insanely painful death. He was the most skilled and the most dangerous. Nobody in this room had a higher body count than old man Jenkins. They could never forget when he fi
