Chapter 71 - Alex
I glance towards the bedroom door and smile before I turn back towards the small table for two.  I’m not usually into romantic stuff like this, but it seems a fitting thing to do to celebrate our engagement. Engagement.  I still can’t believe I have a smoking hot fiancé. A smile blooms on my face as I light the two candles in the center of the table. I take a few steps back and stare at the table.  I’ve got the small dinner salads off to the side of the plates, along with a small roll.  Metal covers hide the plates and our meal, but it doesn’t stop the steak’s aroma from seeping out from under them. I wonder if he’ll like it. My head pops up when the shower shuts off.  Shit.  I’m not ready yet. I dash back into the little kitchenette and toss the lighter on the counter before I yank off the apron and let the soft, silky red bath

Chapter 72 - Alex
I sigh as I look at my phone again. The messages from my bodyguards keep coming in.  Why do these people want me to work so much?  They don’t know who they are messing with. I snarl at my phone as I frantically type another message. We are only going to be here a couple of days, but I swear I’m doing more work now than I do in an entire month, maybe even a year.  Ugh…I sigh as I hit send, and another message comes in at the same time. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Brandon sit down in the lounge chair next to me with a trail of water behind him.  “Alex, aren’t you going to swim?  We have been in the pool for over an hour, but you are glued to your phone and keep typing.  What is going on?”I pull my attention away from my phone and turn towards him.  His hair is still wet with water droplets hanging on his eyelashes while others slide down hi

Chapter 73 - Alex
I tap away on my phone as I silently laugh to myself.  My evil smirk grows even wider as I sit and wait. Chance slides closer to me and leans over the top of my phone.  “What is going on now?  Did something else happen?”Water droplets drip off his wet hair and land in the middle of my phone. I quickly wipe it away with the back of my hand and grunt, “Hey!  Watch what you are doing.  I don’t want to have my phone ruined right now.  I need it.”He looks up at me and grunts, “A few drops won’t ruin your phone.  Don’t get your underwear in a bunch.”  He then leans over my phone again and shakes his head.  A wave of water droplets fly in every direction, with several of them landing not only on my phone but also on my face. I snarl as I quickly tuck my phone behind my back.  “Chancey, you better stop that, or you’ll regr

Chapter 74 - David
My hunch is right.  Something has been happening behind the scenes and Alex has tried to hide it.  However, I didn’t realize just how much he has been doing to keep this under wraps until now. I know he is trying to protect me, but I can help, too.  I’m not helpless.  I’m the engineering department’s head hazer.  I can take it. Alex slowly nods as he pushes out his lower lip into a cute pout. I fight the overwhelming urge to devour him while I turn my attention back to his phone.  As I continue to read the messages, my blood begins to boil.  Who would dare try to do this to us?  Do they not know who they are dealing with, or do they not care? With my eyes still focused on the long string of messages, I ask, “Did you say Brandon’s father knows about this?”“Hmm.”I know my baby’s people are good, but I also know from f

Chapter 75 - Alex
David’s husky voice bounces through my mind, but as his voice suddenly has a hint of concern, I flutter my eyes open. Buzz.I blink a few times as I look up at his handsome face.  He shakes his head.  “Not now, Brandon.  I need to see what these messages are about.  If your father has resolved the situation, this is maybe something new or it could still be something about the previous issue.”My mind quickly rehashes his words.  Brandon’s father has taken care of our original problem.  Then why am I still getting messages? Brandon’s concerned voice pulls me back to reality.  “I want to know what is going on.  I’m going to call dad and we will be there soon.  I’ll grab the others, so make sure you are dressed when we get there.”David turns and looks at me.  As I furrow my eyebrows, trying to understand everything, he smiles down at me

Chapter 76 - Alex
I bite the inside of my lip as I peek around the corner of the door and scan the enormous crowd inside the banquet hall.  My stomach twists as my eyes stop on the multiple cameras being setup.  I didn’t think there was going to be this many people here.  I take a deep breath as little beads of sweat form down the middle of my back.   David’s husky voice whispers into my ear.  “Baby, everything is going to be alright.  I’ll be right next to you.” His muscular arms snake around my sides and across my stomach as I lean back against his firm chest.  His warmth wraps around me like a comforting blanket.  I slide my hands across his arms.  My voice almost trembles as I ask, “Are you sure about this?  You can’t change your mind once we go through with this.” He pulls me tight against him as he softly chuckles.  “Baby, you already know I’ll never let you go.  I’ve worked too hard to g

Chapter 77 - David
Fear courses through my veins as I stare out at the sea of people.  The constant flashes have spots dancing around in front of me, but I pull myself together and stand tall and strong next to Alex.  He has made one of the hardest decisions in his life, and I’m here to support him.  His words only slightly register in my mind as I stand tall like a statue.  I have his entire speech memorized.  He has been practicing it several times a day for the last few days.  Even though my stomach twists as the flashes keep bombarding us, a sense of pride filters through me as Alex calmly keeps going.  He doesn’t let the occasional shouts from the reporters or the constant flashing from the cameras disturb him.  He is a true professional.  I wish I could be like that someday.  When he finally ends his speech and another stream of flashes blast us, while the reporters shout various questions at us.

Chapter 78 - Alex
I slowly open my eyes and tentatively roll towards my clock.  However, no matter how slow I go, every part of my body aches.  We were too wild last night, but I liked it. David had said something about making me pay, and I think I’ve paid him double or more. I blink a couple times, trying to will my eyes to work, but after a few moments, I give up and lay my head back down on the pillow.  Maybe if I get some more sleep, I’ll feel better.Just as I close my eyes, David’s deep and husky voice rings out.  “Baby, don’t you dare go back to sleep.  It is already late.  We missed breakfast, but I’ve got lunch ready.  I’ve also brought in some medicine, so you will feel better soon.”Medicine.  I definitely need some of that.I open one eye and mumble, “I just need the pain killers.  I should be better in a little while.  However, next time,

I scan the area and the crowd of students while trying to find anything out of place or unusual.  As my eyes dart back in the opposite direction, Paul nudges my arm.  “Are you alright, Alex?  You seem a little on edge today.”On edge.  Ha.  That is an understatement. I shrug my shoulders.  “You tell me.  I thought the press conference would stop everything, but instead, I get a message from the crazy person telling me they won’t stop.  I came out and told the world about my relationship with David to stop the crazy stalker from trying to ruin my life.  But the joke is on me.  The idiot won’t stop.  I think they might have even been declaring war on me.  I don’t know who it is.  It is someone close to me, though.  They know too much information about me and David.  Luckily, they weren’t able to figure out who my boyfriend is so far, but I’m su

Chapter 80 - David
I walk down the hallway towards the hazer’s room while ignoring all the whispers and murmurs swirling around me.  Unfortunately, I can’t miss one particular cocky voice as he snickers, “If I knew the Casanova was going to go for guys, I would have swooped him up first before anyone else could have gotten their claws into him.  He is an amazing catch.”My feet instantly stop, and I slowly turn my head towards the group of upper classmen just a little farther down the hall.  The one who is spouting all the nonsense chuckles as he nudges the guy beside him.  “You know I would.  He is so fine.”I raise an eyebrow and shoot daggers at the arrogant jerk.  When he opens his mouth to say something else, still oblivious to my presence, I cut him off.  “Alex is very particular in what he likes.  You would never pass his standards.”  I emphasize ‘you’, while I narrow my eyes a
