Chapter Seventy-Nine

As the blasting sun burned their scalps, Madam Barlow frowned at Mr. Barlow and asked, "Why haven't they opened the gate yet?" "Stop asking me questions you know I don't have the answer to, woman!" Mr. Barlow lashed out, frowning as he rang the bell again. Annoyed by the hotness from the sun, Madam Barlow cried, "This is all Charles's fault for taking the cars from us, making us use an Uber! How can he be so evil to ill-treat us in our own home!"  When Mr. Barlow played deaf to her words, she frowned and continued, "Catherine would have never…" "Maybe if you would have been a bit nicer to her and Rome in the past…" "Me! How about you?! We

When the vehicle came to a stop, Rome looked at the glass building, and then he felt a vibration in his leg. After pulling his phone out of his pocket, he looked at the screen for a second before answering the call. "Rick, What do you have for me?" Rome calmly asked. "Good morning, sir. What you asked of me yesterday, I got the result." Rick's voice flowed into his ear. "Charles is using the Barlow properties as the loan collateral." "Thanks, Rick. If you can, I need you to find out the exact bank Charles borrowed the money from and the terms and conditions of the loan." "I can, and I will, Sir." A

Chapter Eighty-One

Without opening her eyes, Catherine's hands stroked the sheets, and then she grabbed a phone before raising her eyelids. "Six-fifty! It's still so early?" Catherine groaned in annoyance. Then she looked to the left and pouted at the empty sheets, bothered that Rome wasn't there. "Did he go to work already again?" Catherine mumbled, still feeling drowsy as she sat up in bed. Swaying her gaze back on the phone, Catherine swiped right on its screen and took a long look at its wallpaper before mumbling, "Oh, it's Rome's. That means he is still here." As she was about to toss the blanket off her, the bedroom door opened, and Rome walked in with a tray.

Chapter Eighty-Two

For a moment, Charles stared at the serious expression on his father's face. Then he shoved his hands into his pocket, frowned, and said, "I'm going to sell DreamTeam." "What!" William lashed out in shock. As his face hardened, Charles shot his father a warning look and coldly uttered, "Watch the volume of your voice!" "How could you think about doing something like that!" William asked in a calmer tone. "DreamTeam is beyond saving, and if I continue trying to keep it running, I will be at the losing end. That's why I'm going to file for an 'administration bankruptcy' and sell the company." "Charles!"

Chapter Eighty-Three

Silence escaped the room when the office door opened, and Rome raised his gaze, giving a half-smile as he watched Mr. Willberg walk into his office. After shutting the door behind him, he marched over to a chair and sat down. "How did it go?" Rome asked, dropping his pen on the papers in front of him. "Smoothly," Mr. Willberg mumbled as he laid a file on the desk. "As we agreed on, I clear Charles's debts with interest, and you hand over the Barlow properties and DreamTeam to me." " Yes. That's the agreement. And these documents are my side of my bargain. All you need to do is sign and the Barlow's wealth is yours."

Chapter Eighty-Four

When the car came to a stop, Catherine's eyes remained closed as she drew a breath.   "Are you sure you will be okay handling this?" She could hear Rome's voice loud in her head.   "Ma'am," Willaim said, looking back at her. "We have arrived at DreamTeam."   Slowly, Catherine raised her lashes and then gave a faint smile before saying, "Thank you,"    Swaying her gaze away from him, she stared at the car door as it opened. Then she stepped down wearing a long black coat and a loose black blouse tugging into her black pants.   With her gaze on the front door, she headed inside, and the lobby grew silent instantly. Only the sound of her red bottom heels

With his gaze on Scar’s eyes, Rome held out his finger and mumbled, “Give me a couple of minutes. Catherine is on the line." Then after getting a slight nod from Scar, Rome accepted the call and said, “Hey babe,” Listening to her long groan, Rome waited patiently for it to end, and then he asked, "How did things go with your uncles and Charles?" "Ahha, it was one of the hardest things I had to do. But I did it.” Catherine mumbled, focusing on the empty chairs around the table. “It needed to get done because they deserve it." Resting back against his seat, a half-smile surfaced on Rome’s face, and then he said, “You did good, babe. I’m proud of you."

Chapter Eighty-Eight

As Rome paced back and forth with the phone pressed against his ear, he could feel fear getting the best of him and his hand trembling. After procrastinating for a while, William swallowed hard and finally answered the call and said, “Boss, Ma'am is missing.” It took Rome a moment to process those words because the instant he heard them, his entire mind went blank.  When he finally snapped out of the feeling that had him lost of words, his grip on his phone tightened as he asked, "What do you mean by my wife is missing?!" "She went into 'Dallas Cafe,' I swear to you, boss. But she never came out, and I am inside the building, but it's empty. Not even a staff member is in this place." William cried o

A feeling of rage and uncertainty coursed through Rome as he darted his eyes around the hotel room, working his brain hard.   Suddenly, the door opened, and Rome drew his attention away from the window, focusing his gaze on K.   “You have been in here for a while now, and I thought I should check up on you,” K said with a touch of worry in his eyes as he shut the door.   “This is going to be the death of me if she doesn't return to me safely,” Rome mumbled, burying his face in his hand.   The presence of fear intensified in him, and he couldn't shake off the feeling.    Walking further into the room, K kept his gaze fixed on Rome as he asked, “Do you b
