Chapter Eleven

Leanunya yawned, waking. They had been traveling for at least two weeks and should be arriving in Rynion tomorrow morning or by tonight. They had fairly nice weather as they had traveled. Although today was cloudy and looked like it was going to rain. If it rained they wouldn’t reach Rynion until tomorrow morning or even later. If it didn’t rain they would make it in this evening but she was unsure if she wanted that. Although the rain really couldn’t slow them down she disliked walking in the rain but would do so if necessary. She stood up and stretched out telling Nagos to get up. Leanunya gathered her stuffed and ate some jerky after she finished waiting for Nagos to finish getting his stuff gathered. This was another thing she disliked about Nagos. He was very messy. She knew he was still a child but he would take everything out of his bag just to grab his blanket to sleep. She

Leanunya talked with Drake til dawn, the rain having not stopped until well into the night long after Nagos and those others had fallen asleep. She knew she wouldn’t have slept anyway so she had stayed up with Drake. They had talked about many things but at the same time nothing. They both knew more than either chose to speak about or wanted to. They had spoken of nothing that could give away who they truly were or what they did as a living. They had talked about simple things. Fighting styles and journeys but never about the deaths or the tolls. They talked and began to know each other without truly knowing each other. Although, knowing one day they would meet again either as friends or enemies after they parted. They had long finished off the bottle of whiskey they had shared but they didn’t mind as they talked through the night just like two old pals would do.

Chapter Thirteen

Wolferan looked at the newest report and smiled. He finally had news about the silver eyed demon and it was a confirmed report. He stood his eyes like two Golden torches. He ordered a bag of supplies to be made as he went outside to wait. He started to pace once outside, being too impatient to wait much longer. Finally after a long while a servant brought him a bag of supplies. Wolferan grabbed the bag and with an impatient leap he flapped his black wings taking to the sky. He climbed high up into the sky heading for Rynion. He found it odd that he would get a report of the silver-eyed demon from the same city he had last seen her in. Although he was curious about this he was more concerned about catching her. He had to admit he was obsessed with

Chapter Fourteen

Leanunya walked along a dirt packed road headed for the capital city. She knew she was close and subconsciously picked up pace. She wanted to arrive before dark, if not sooner. She walked swiftly, soon arriving before the city gates. They were huge and dominaniring steel gates unlike the wooden city gates other cities had. After she paid the entrance fee she walked through the gates. The gates were several feet thick built for resisting against sieges. There were also several notches in the walls for archers. The capital city was built to be easy to defend but hard to attack. That also included the fact it was built on the edge of a cliff on the far end of the city. She looked around as she walked into the city going through the thick crowds of people. The place was packed with people and stores tr

Chapter Fifteen

She lashed her tail even as Wolferan neared her, his eyes on her and her dagger. She backed up as he approached. He had no weapons but considering his sharp claws on his hands he really didn’t need one. Neither did she but chose to use one. Leanunya also knew he had enough strength alone to be dangerous even without his claws. This was just her instinct telling her but she trusted her instincts. Leanunya backed up til she bumped into a wall and Wolferan attacked at that moment. She dropped to the side and lashed out with her dagger at his thigh. The dagger tore his pants but glanced off his dragon scales. Leanunya cursed and scrambled away just barely avoiding his attempt to grab her. She grit her teeth from the pain of her own movement but continued to move to get out of his grasp. She panted facing him once a distance away from him.

Before the fight Wolferan had been staying in the capital for a week now waiting for the silver-eyed demon to arrive. He had finally caught word of her arrival and discovered her in the library. He went to the library and went in carefully. He went to the second floor and soon found her on the east side deeply immersed in reading a book. He crouched down and stalked closer. Once close enough he pounced but it seemed she noticed him and moved away just in the nick of time and seeing him she ran and jumped out the window nearby. He cursed at her getting away and ran jumping out the window. He spreads his wings taking flight chasing after her. He flew watching her from above ready to dive down to attack and capture her. When he saw her finally stop he dived down, attacking. He saw her try to get away but was a second too

Chapter Seventeen

Wolferan sighed as he picked up the now unconscious silver-eyed demon into his arms. He wasn’t feeling the pride he normally felt after catching his target. He felt frustrated and unnerved. Although he was smug about finally catching his target it was strained as he knew she was a Cattagon and it changed everything about his knowledge about her. It gave him the reason why she tried to kill the king and why she killed some nobles but at the same time it left him with far more questions. He sighed before taking to the air headed to his home to lock the silver-eyed demon up where he could get answers to all his questions. He flew swiftly, going home in deep thought. He had chased after the silver-eyed demon for years yet only now did he discover she was a Cattagon and not a cattrina. For so many years he had not once noticed. He hadn’t even

Chapter Eighteen

Leanunya grumbled trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in. She was having no luck due to her agonizingly painful broken wing and broken ribs. She was hungry as well but was only given water. A night had passed since she woke up in this dungeon she was trapped in and she had seen no way yet to escape. Of course she knew at one point or another a chance would show itself. For now she could only bear with the pain and hunger while waiting for her chance. She had no idea what Wolferan was up to but she hoped to find out this morning. But as fate would have it even after the sun had long risen she saw no signs of wolferan. Her prison cell was small with a small slit for fresh air and sunlight to enter. The slit though, was far too small to fit through. There were just barren stone walls, a couple of buckets, a blanket she could use if she got t

Chapter Nineteen

Wolferan gave the order to his men to look into Leanunya’s victims after he left the dungeon. He needed to know if what she had said was the truth. If it was true then not only was she not evil but could also be a decent person. This was starting to frustrate him. He had come to believe the silver-eyed demon was evil. She had killed hundreds of people yet now it was under inquiry that she didn’t kill indiscriminately. This only brought more questions to mind. Why did she kill only bad people? Was really just a killer or was it that she thought of herself as some hero?He had to find out, but even with bargaining to give her treatment she was still hard to get any information from. He needed to get this information and in the shortest time. He then had a sudden idea that was a sure way to find out if it was true and give him time to talk with h

Chapter Twenty

Leanunya managed to get some sleep during the night after a healer came and treated her broken wing and ribs. The healer had even given her some herbs to kill the pain which was a great relief and allowed her to get some sleep. She wouldn’t have been able to get much sleep otherwise and with the fact she hadn’t slept since waking in this prison cell she needed the sleep. She woke at dawn and sat up, yawning glad to get some decent rest before this unwanted trip. Although it gave her a higher chance to escape it was sudden and she was cautious. She knew Wolferan had to have some kind of trick to keep her under wraps as his prisoner. She just couldn’t figure out what it was. She stretched as much as she dared without causing herself any pain and sat waiting for this trip to Rynion. She couldn’t understand why he felt the need t
