"You couldn't have forgotten me..." he stared blankly. "right, Ayo" I silently hoped that my forever and ever best friend would not forget me. I left for just 5 years, actually 4 years 8 months and 25 days, not like anyone was counting.    Or was I really as fat as ugly as I was told by the girls back in Abuja? Ayo had always told me that I was like tea, the sweetest thing ever, the fairest of all and literally the most beautiful thing to exist and I would blush, as far as my dark skin could, and we were just friends.    Ayo was sitting there in all his glory, Aloha shirt that wasn't buttoned, white Nike sweatshorts and sunshades on his hairline. His hair was in waves that reached his neck and the black colour glistened in what looked like oil. Oh, to run my hands through that.   "...Feyi," I snapped as I heard my name being called. Ayo's gaze was on mine as mine were on his. I blushed again, he definitely noti

"But I brought you breakfast in bed!" Ayo grumbled and pouted. "It's only fair."   "Yea, and what's so special about that?" I sipped my tea and wiped the back of my mouth with my hand.   He pulled at my legs again and whined. "You are so so special and, and stop glaring at me like that..." I kept a passive face. "And I had to make you breakfast. I strolled to the bakery to get a fresh loaf, I fried the eggs too, and made you steamy hot tea."   "Okay," I gestured for him to continue. "And what else?"   "So funny story, when I was preparing the first set of eggs that I fried," my eyes widened and he quickly continued. "The shell broke into it when I cracked it into the bowl, I guess it was a soft egg so I just washed that out after unsuccessfully trying to get them out.   Then I tried making new ones, and these were hard because they cracked just fine into the bowls. Then the worst

I spent the next two weeks visiting my family members in Lagos and have Ayo drive us around town. I stayed 3 days over at my uncle’s house and played PlayStation and GTA with my cousins all day and lived off pizza and greasy food. I also took some of their clothes when I was leaving and they called to playfully yell at me after I had left that I emptied their wardrobes and I just laughed.    I visited my favourite places in town like the ice cream store, an amusement park, the haunted house, the cinemas and lots and lots of street food restaurants because I couldn’t eat some of my favourite dishes when I was away at school.   We had also visited the Lekki Conservation Centre. The monkeys were really naughty and tried to swipe at my water when I was drinking it. I took lots of pictures of the birds and the vegetation and I had another monkey that tried to snatch my camera from my neck. Ayo chuckled and laughed loudly while I scowled. He

Ayo: The sun is for the light, The Moon is for the night, And you are for the rest of my life   Feyi: Yea, no. The rhyming words are amazing but this isn't even cheesy, talk less of cringy.   Ayo: I'm not trying to woo you Fey, trust me. I could do that without the use of the internet 😉. Just showing you horrible pick up lines I found on some lame website   Feyi: Suuurrreee Ay, show me the better ones you can come up with...   Ayo: Alright, get ready to fall into my arms baby.   Feyi: Don't call me baby😬   Ayo: Of course 😂. I have 4 percent battery remaining. I chose to message you. Did I choose wisely?   Feyi: For one, your phone is never below 50, and two, this is more horrible than the first one. Can I get a yes?   Ayo: Nope. It's actually pretty good. Because my phone is on 49 percent and that's as good as it b

His eyes shot towards mine and his lips parted in shock. "You do?"    Of course I do. I have since forever, I mean it's been so long that I can't remember. How come you didn't even realize? Or did you just hide it from me? You just pretended that you didn't know right...gosh Ayo. "Yes." I nodded my head bashfully.    "You know I kind of thought that you did?" He raised a brow.   "How?" I furrowed my brows and crossed my arms across my chest.    "Let's play a game. Not exactly a game, just truth."   "Truth?"    "Like truth or dare, just truth." He explained and it immediately clicked.   I nodded. "Alright then. You go first." I buried myself under my blankets and only peeked out a bit from the top.    "Why don't you go first, ladies first." He smiled cheekily.   I shook my

This chapter happened before the ‘confession’   Enjoy   “Feyi Feyi Feyi.” My door slammed shut and I jumped from the impact. Ayo’s tall body slammed unto my bed and I almost fell off.   “What the heck?” I pulled out my earphones and glared at Ayo.   He smiled cheekily and pulled my cheeks. I quickly tugged my face away and almost cried from the pain that flared the area. “I missed you.”   “You saw me an hour ago!” I exclaimed and rubbed my hand across my face.   Lord help me with this boy.   “And I miss you already!” He pouted.   “Yes of course, why are you such a baby?”   “I’m only your baby. ‘Girl you’re so beautiful to meeee, can’t you seeee’” He belted out the Tiktok sound and wiggled his brows.   “Stop it.” I drawled in annoyance, not missing the skip in the beating of my

“Stop staring at me!” I huffed and narrowed my eyes. “You shouldn’t even be here,” I added in a grumble. My room was in a great and beautiful mess, by that I mean hopelessly scattered. My clothes were strewn around in my frenzy searching for a good outfit and as usual, I picked out one dress or skirt to a ratio of 5 shorts and sweatpants. I hate to say this as much as I hate math but I do not have clothes, or so my mum says. I had been searching for one hour and even a dose of happy songs blasting from my speakers did not remove the scowl etched unto my face. I was pissed and had roughly 10 minutes to get into an outfit and take another shower because there wasn’t electricity in the whole of this country and I was sweating buckets. I blame Eko electricity for my dilemma because I’d have an outfit if not for their interest in toying with electricity. I mean, have you ever been to
