Meredith's chest was rising and falling. She had felt the cool dirt beneath her feet and the light breeze that had wrapped between the trees whispering to the leaves and brushing against her skin. She had felt her landing when she fell to the ground. She saw the intensity in the man's eyes that had approached her. Her dream felt so real. It took her a moment to readjust herself. She slid her legs over the edge of the bed and stretched with a big yawn before getting out of bed. Brayden wasn't in bed and his side was made as if he hadn't been there at all during the entire night. Meredith shrugged and headed to the bathroom for her morning ritual brushing her teeth and flossing weren't new to her mornings but she had for the last week been adding facial cleanser, toners, and multiple kinds of moisturizer depending on the time of day. Meredith was in the master bedroom undressing. She had put her shoes away and was just stepping out of her jeans when Brayden walked in. He had been discussing something with someone in the living room. Meredith wasn’t sure who the woman was or what they were saying, she assumed it had something to do with the ‘grooming.’Brayden walked past Meredith without looking at her or saying anything. He seemed to not even notice she was there. He went into her closet and she wondered what he could be doing but continued what she was doing and removed her shirt.Meredith was standing in her bra and panties. Mizuki had finished her speech about the children’s hospital and thanked all the guest for buying their plates at the event. Once she finished she sat down and the room began to fill with chatter as servers walked around placing dishes in front of each guest. Meredith was looking around the table she was at with a polite smile. She didn’t know anyone there except Edward Brayden and Mizuki. Mizuki sat in the empty chair next to Brayden and Meredith knew the seating arrangement was not a random coincidence. Mizuki smiled at the person to her right and said something then smiled politely at the table before turning to Brayden. “I was beginning to think you weren’t going to show up.” Meredith heard Mizuki say to Brayden. Then she added with a sarcastic chuckle, “You get married and suddenly you start showing up to events late.”

The DJ, an asian girl with long dark hair pouring down around her shoulders from a white folded beanie on her head. She wore large headphones and for some reason she had sunglasses on. Meredith was watching as the DJ dressed in the white Adidas oversized cropped hoodie and a pair of ribbed black Adidas leggings with the three stripes swirling around the legs.  The DJ was playing a mix of genres and top hits that somehow melded together seamlessly. Meredith was actually astonished at how well it all went together regardless of the genre. She wanted to know who this woman was. Meredith and Brayden had long ago left the floor and Brayden was making his rounds with some of Maxwell Sharpe’s clients. But Meredith tried not to think of it as she yawned and headed into the bathroom where she tossed her pajamas Brayden had dressed her in the night before. She also tried not to think about that.
