Chapter 39

39. The message The hair on the back of Alpha's neck stood to attention as an arc of lightning shot down his spine. He stiffened at the same time shocked gasps and a cacophony of low murmurs erupted like a wildfire in the atmosphere covered in green.    Red Witches were females born as the descendants of fire. Their red curly hair denoted the flames of scorching dancing flames. Their scarlet eyes could see the future once they saw your face even in a crowd. Long and ruby red nails on their hands could kill someone worse than the pang of a pointed blade. They were dangerous as they devoted the lord of light. A lord that was as powerful as the moon goddess.    Red Witches and Wolves had a history of combat, wars for power and recognition, blood bath and revenge. Though a peace agreement was signed centuries ago between the progenitors of the two clans, the descendants never forgot the past. Their encounters always witnessed d

Chapter 40

40. His thoughts were of a killer— not a protector's.    Night insects chirped, playing a melodious natural lullaby to the ears of the trio laying tiringly in the underground cave Alpha Alan made. The night brightened from a pallet of grey skies to dark inky black as the sheet of diamond like stars flickered out there in the open, above the thick mass of trees.    The cave was in orbit in shape with the mouth of it guarded with a wooden plank drafted from cutting bamboos to perfection until they were held together with vines. It was under the ground, warm within whilst cold outside and could attract crawling animals like snakes and others due to its comforting temperature. Hence, the plank worked as both, a blockage to animals and a barrier for protection.   While Jeremy and Alan soundly snored, pressing their heads into their soft pillows made out of tender soft small leaves wrapped inside a big banana

Chapter 41

41. Clash of the wolves  "You're wrong," asserted Alan as he took a slow march towards them.   His presence was not appreciated, it can be seen in Lisa's eyes. Rather a feeling of dread filled her chest when Alan stood before Jeremy. He took the wooden shaft from Jeremy's hand and trailed its length with his long fingers and thumb.    "One of the first rules of sword fighting is that you never strike your blade until you sense yourself in danger." Remarked Alan, he was kind of hurt since Lisa, his mate, didn't think it important to tell him before stepping out of the cave.    She had never been so annoying until yesterday.    'There are so many things that have not happened before, her discomfort on seeing you included.' Alois scoffed in his mind.    Alan didn't have an opportunity to think about it because Jeremy had answered his words, "The ones

Chapter 42

42. What are you, Jeremy Dixon? Alpha Alan stared at her retreating figure as he gulped a knot of surprise down his throat. just so easily she announced they should part ways as if it was a cakewalk.    His wolf growled, pumping his blood, and he set a foot ahead in order to follow her. He urged to grab her harshly and mutter in her ears about how he risked his life to save hers. About how insane her statement sounded. About how wrong it was for her to go with another wolf when her destined mate was here.    Alan was in the sad mode, wanting to do exactly how he felt— monstrously. But just as he could speed up and catch her, his shoulder sensed a warm hold. He was stopped by Jeremy's hand that pressed fingers into his tensing muscles.    At a moment he had a desire to grab him by the neck again and snap it out as it was because of him why everything became awfully worse between Lisa and him. Hadn't

Chapter 43

43. Did he really say that she was a moonborn? "What?" with trembling limbs and a heart that nearly stopped beating for about a second, Alan stared at his face as his own became a mess of surprise and sweat.   "That's a lie!" He took some steps back, totally taken aback at the revelation.    Moonborn. Did he really say that she was a moonborn? Like really, a moonborn, a descendant of the moon goddess. One belonging to her family! Is she really one of those? A blessed wolf with a reward of choosing her mate on her own! A moonborn with extraordinary powers and abilities! Nope, it was too mind numbing to be true.    'No ways, Alan! I have sensed her wolf. She needs to talk and come out. And for that you need to provide her with the leguminous-bane that will break loose her wolf and end her prohibition. It's time that you give it to her now, Alan. Do it, Alan. Give it to her and see it yourself.' Alois cord

Chapter 44

44. Letting her go! His steps echoed in the still atmosphere near their underground cave as Alpha Alan softly wended towards it. He heard noises coming from within which indicated that she might be collecting her stuff.   Vague sound of cloth crawling on skin between soft breaths particularly stirred his ear drums, he imagined her sliding clothes on her body delicately with care. He assumed her tossing her hair one side on the shoulder whilst directing her long slender fingers at the back to zip it on her body.   Another deep sigh came from under the cave while Alan perceived her getting ready to exit it. There she finally was— in front of him just like how he had met her on the first day.   In her royal white gown coveted behind the shade of cloak as that leather bag hung on her shoulder, she made him recollect that fortunate day when they first encountered each other. The hoodie of the cloak partially covered h

Chapter 45

45. He was an alpha... not a rogue. "G-gazelle?" Dumbstruck by the voice speaking in her head, Lisa flickered her eyelids vigorously to meet a new era of atmosphere.   Her sight seemed to have become pellucid. She can see an intelligible image of the surroundings that was ten times better than her normal vision. It was as if she was given a power to see things differently, this was only something she had loved earlier, notwithstanding. Because she was getting to see the world with her wolf's eyes.   "Yes, Lisa, this is me, your wolf. Oh, I can't express how joyous I feel while talking to you! I thought I would never be freed again." Gazelle cheerfully said, swirling merrily in Lisa's mind as she shockingly stared at everything around her.   With the advanced clear sight, she was able to observe the intricate pattern of leaves, and how it's green veins distributed in a channel. Her heightened hearings can listen t

Chapter 46

46. Humble alpha turned into a horrible alpha! Brave City,   "Good afternoon, Alpha!"   "It's good to see you after a long time, Alpha!"   "Live long, stay strong, Alpha!"   "Alpha Alan's here. Gosh, he's so handsome. I have never seen him this close before. Should we go and talk to him?"   It was after a span of two months that Alpha Alan was shuffling his feet in the markets of his pack's capital city. People admired him. From old to young, adults to cubs, all of them plastered a big wide grin on their lips, expressing their jubilation on seeing their alpha.   "Good afternoon, Alpha Alan. My son wants to join the pack's army post his education." A she-wolf bowed down across him while a young pup certainly ten or twelve summers old stared at his alpha without any blinking.   It was as if he was meeting his hero. The inspiration o

Chapter 47

  47. A shocking realization "Aahh! Alph-aah!" Jenny hissed as her skin burnt under the scorching heat his kisses transferred in her body.    She was sandwiched between him and the platform built around the bath tub. Her head mercilessly arched as he bit her throat. He nibbled her collar bone leaving traces of redness that were far too gruesome than hickeys.    Jenny was slender, she was soft with glossy hair that tumbled past her shoulders in waves of silk. But now they were all over the place and stuck at her neck and face.  Her complexion was almost porcelain; which at the moment had become red as she blushed and it was there for him to see. Her features were delicate; she had an ethereal beauty that was refined. Jenny was of medium height, and she was so slender that her body was graceful and dainty and was fully concealed behind his broad shoulders and muscled frame.

Chapter 48

48. A message from her pack for the alpha. "H-he passed away?" His heavy voice, filled with self-realization and lots of guilt, faltered.   Just for a second, a flickering second, Alpha Alan's eyes softened before they hardened way more than they were before. The flick of changing emotions on his face turned cold and hard. His jaw tightened and the flesh on it glistened in the radiating rays of the setting sun that cast a shadow of orange and dark yellow.   The filter on his face blackened his looks, making him seem even merciless. Even heartless. And colder than the harsh night of winters.   Adrian was observing every change on his face. He was startled to see Alan not show any guilt after that specific second. He has.... Changed. Negatively. Harshly.   "Alan," he began again, hoping to seek answers to the questions he was preparing to ask.   But one glance from Alan and
