Chapter 20 Awkward Conversation

Trei drove us back towards the same area where he once took us to ice skate. But as soon as he dropped us off, he immediately took off along with the jeep saying something about calling a friend despite my protest. I wanted to ask him which friend because as much as possible, I would rather have only the four of us to be a part of this plan.On the bright side, he did leave us with some skating gears to kill time if we ever wait for him longer than we anticipated. Only Byron seemed to take to offer and left Skyr and I to go and skate on the frozen ocean water. Skyr got a log for the both of us to sit on while we wait and watch over Byron.“I am getting really good at this!” Byron lets out a yell of glee when as he twirled and slides over the ice. Skyr and I both laughed as we watched him acting childishly and chasing some penguins that decided to jo

Chapter 21 A Very Familiar Meta

The three of us followed Trei. As we were walking, I noticed how Byron and Skyr were casting me glances - asking me with their eyes where we were headed. As much I wanted to give them an answer, I shook my head and shrugged my shoulder to silently inform them that I was clueless as they are.As usual, the feeling wasn’t new to me and I never liked it.By the looks of it, we were headed to the other side of the slope that separated the lake into two. A sort of tall divider that we ourselves have to climb to get there.“It’s not that far. I dropped him off on the way here because he needed some water. He can’t go out of the water for much longer.” Trei suddenly reassured us. He must have noticed all the brewing tension and anxiety in the air. Although it was not his intention, the confusi

With his new look, you couldn’t recognize the late general at all because all of his features when he was a human were now gone and replaced with this newer and unrecognizable form. I looked at Trei. “How were you able to tell that he’s Skyr’s father?” I asked him. Now, the three of us were looking at Trei expectantly. My best friend placed both hands on his hips. “We pretty much found a cuff on his wrist. The same cuff that we removed from you three because you entered our hideout. We checked his information on the cuff and IDed him.” He explained. “Unfortunately, that is all the proof that I can give you because we threw away the cuff after we deactivated it for safety precautions. Plus, I have a bit of help dragging your father here with me.”“Help

Chapter 23 Complicated

Hazhar’s thoughts slipped through my mind. And I could only guess that the pill that Skyr and Byron took must have worked because they were both awfully surprised. Skyr has tears in his eyes the moment that he heard his father speaking. But pushing back the mind of a wild creature wasn’t easy because the moment that the whale notice that I was pushing him back, he began to retaliate and started fighting against me despite my constant command. It feels like something was constantly colliding with my head.Byron turned to me with a bright smile on his face. “Sis, you did it!” “Not sure about that,” I told him. My right hand flew to the side of my head and applied some pressure to distract myself from the growing headache. “I don’t think that I could keep doing this

Chapter 24 Stance 17

Three days passed since that incident with Skyr’s father. We never talked about it again nor did we get a chance to. He was just his usual self like nothing ever happened. In fact, I feel like he has gotten a little too talkative lately that it worries me.As for the planning of our escape, Trei says that he’ll be the one to make the plans. He gave us each a gym bag one day and told us to fill it up with the gears and materials that we wish to pack and he’ll come and pick it up in two days.He never told us the plan. He says that the fewer people to know about the plan, the better. I think that he was referring to the time when we were in Atlantis. He just wanted to be cautious in order for our plan to be successful. But to be honest, I have this inkling feeling that he doesn’t want bot

Chapter 25 Jump

As a few more days went by, I was dying of excitement and anticipation of when we would be leaving this place. And throughout all that time, I haven’t seen Trei even once. We even have another guy playing as our chaperone to drive us from the facility and to wherever the location that Guill wishes for us to use.I believe that there was even a time that I almost forgot that we even have an escape plan until I was getting my nightmares again. This time, I saw Silisk swallowing my father, whom I have also lost contact with since my time in Atlantis, whole. It got to the point where my brother would often go to my room and sleep on the small couch just to keep me company until I would fall asleep again. Usually, I would be fine on my own as long as I have the journal that Trei lent me to keep me company. I usually hide the journal in the gym bag that T

Chapter 26 Location of the Triton

It has been about 8 hrs since we escaped from the rebel’s facility. Byron and I were reading the journals together, but it wasn’t an easy task especially with the dim lights. “Can someone take my place? The autopilot on this thing is busted and I want to stretch a bit.” He groaned.“Can I?” I went forward to ask. But upon seeing all the complicated switches, I was starting to reconsider my offer. I can hardly tell what the other dashboard on the car is for. Why did I suddenly think that I could handle piloting a submarine?“I don’t think you have a license for this yet judging from your face, Nathalia.” I turned to give Skyr a sheepish smile when I saw that he was looking at me while fighting off one of his own.“I’ll help out.” Trei rudely pull

Chapter 27 Turmoil

I woke up from the sudden jerk of the room. It was a strong rattling motion that I even fell out of my bed and landed on the cold metallic floor. I sat up and rubbed my right arm that fell first upon the impact of my fall. I was currently sleeping in one of the rooms in the sub that I was assigned to. The room in the submarine was small at about 2.5 by 1.8 meters. It was enough to hold a single small bed, a table, and a chair. You would think that for an Atlantean submarine that this would cater the same function as my pod back in Atlantis. Unfortunately, it was a big fat and an uncomfortable NO.  Apparently, this version of a submarine was considered an old relic in Atlantis. The ship’s design was made 50 years ago, which is astonishing coming from someone who got the chance to live there. So

Chapter 28 Ice Cream

We headed for the nearest clothing store that we could find and started rummaging through items. The store was completely open and had no glass that separated it from the outside, which wasn’t helping our case because with the lack of an air-condition I could feel myself starting to sweat. Skyr was at the other side of the store as he looked for larger T-shirts and shorts for himself.  I couldn’t handle the heat anymore and randomly took a tank top and some shorts from the rack that seemed to be about my size. I headed towards Skyr’s direction and showed him what I got. Skyr nodded his head and turned towards one of the shop attendees managing the store. For some reason, I have this nagging feeling that this girl was tailing him because of his looks even when he was wearing my sunglasses. I was certain that she was crushing on him at this point. “You pic

Chapter 29 A Good Plan

‘Master, I found your other half.’ Kalia, a gray dolphin, told me. Skyr and I were on another part of the beach where it is slightly secluded. We couldn’t go back to our old spot because a couple of kids decided to lurk there, we had no choice but to transfer. As we were looking for a way to contact them, I felt the presence of this dolphin and asked him to call for Byron and Trei. I could obviously just use the radio that Trei gave us, but I would rather not risk it.‘Were you able to talk to one of them?’ I wanted to make sure that she was talking about Trei. As a sea folk, Trei should be able to understand their tongue.‘I think the one guy with black hair did. I think they&rsquo
