When Anna returned to the room she didn’t empty the bag with her things, she felt as though the matron had other plans for her and she must be ready to run at any time. The next morning Anna was correct, the matron was awake before Anna and she was following Anna around the house the whole day. She would use the excuse that she was inspecting how she was doing her work. Anna didn’t eat anything the whole of Friday, neither did she drink anything. Friday night the matron offered her something to drink and eat, Anna took it but didn’t eat it in front of the matron said that she would eat after she finished doing all her chores.
