 MARIEWe arrived at Eclipse without issues, and I’d be sure to tell Mato how much of a drama queen he was about everything when we were back. He acted like as soon as we left pack territory someone was going to ambush us and sell us on the black market. There were only two versions of Mato that I was privy to, the overprotective, suffocating, but angry as hell about it version, or the one where he ignored me completely. I tried to push Mato from my mind, I was out with friends and even though this trip was serving more than one purpose, I wanted to enjoy myself. Even though I didn’t want to take a guard, I was glad that it was Tayo. He was the least annoying of the options and the one that would be easiest to distract so I could go about my life, Ainsley would make sure of that.

Tayo was under strict orders to have eyes on me at all times until Mylo got there, which meant having a front-row seat to the Ainsley and Tayo makeout show. Looking at Ainsley I couldn’t help but feel happy for her, even if looking at her also entailed watching Tayo be down her throat. They did fit perfectly together, like I had missed all the signs growing up and wondering who Tayo would end up with.Tayo was quiet in comparison to Alderic and Mylo, always trying to learn new techniques and incorporate more technology into both the pack and the security business.  MARIEMato was all but dragging me around, pausing every so often to survey the passing people and give himself enough time to take in the scents around him. The only fun part of this was catching glimpses of the games going on and being able to snag some cotton candy. Thankfully I had Ainsley to drag onto a few rides with me during Mato’s pauses, and it seemed to pass the time quickly. With no scent, I was confident that I wouldn’t attract my mate, but there was always that chance. I’ve heard stories of mates knowing who their mate was before they were even old enough to have wolves, my mother being one of them, and mates being drawn to each other no matter what, like the queen and her kings, but I had to push those thoughts to the back of my mind. Surely those were extreme circumstances, I mean the queen was an Alpha, and my mother is a pretty
