I’m sitting out on the balcony, considering my escape, when Stace reappears beside me.  For once, I don’t flinch, his sudden appearance beside me something that I’m starting to get used to. Night has stretched into early morning at this point, and yet I refuse to sleep, even if tiredness tugs at my eyelids and weights heavy on my limbs. I’m not sleeping until I get out of this place. Noah and Stace have basically kidnapped me, not allowing me to leave, even though I’ve practically begged them to.  "When are you going to take me home?" I question immediately, not even giving him a

¬Amolet At first, a devious smile spreads across Astro’s face, but that quickly vanishes.  "We may need more immortals to kill Stace,” Astro emphasises. My own panic only increases hearing that. More immortals? Astro doesn’t sound particularly pleased at that notion, which means it has to be imperative. How powerful is Stace if he needs multiple purebloods to take him down? Not only does it terrify me, it makes me more skeptical about siding with Astro and Cian. What if Stace decides enough is enough and kills us all without a second thought?

The sound of rustling wakes me before the sun has a chance to. Sitting up, I rub my eyes, hardly aware of the blanket half draped over me, concentrating more on the knot that has gathered between my shoulders. Maybe I shouldn’t have agreed to sleep outside on the couch, although I doubt I would have gotten much sleep had I been sleeping opposite Cian’s room. "Good morning," I hear from behind the couch. Looking over my shoulder, I spy Cian walking around the living space, clearly looking for something. "You coming."I haven’t yet had a chance to get my bearings, so for a long moment, I just stare blankly at him.

¬Amolet It takes all my self control not to turn around and run down the snowy mountain and away from the immortal that stands before me.  "Cian was just looking for you,” I breathe, looking past him, motioning toward his own estate. Lev is still beside me as well, making it painfully obvious to Sinful that his presence before us is petrifying. His lavender eyes gleam with enjoyment, suggesting he is getting quite the kick out of our reactions.  "Can I invite you inside?" he

~Amolet I’ve decided that I don’t think I like Sinful. After the hot springs, Sinful transported us all back to his estate for the night. The moment my feet touched the ground, I was dressed in appropriate clothing again, and right before I could say anything to Sinful, he wished us a good night, and vanished into thin air. Now, I sit at the edge of a guest bed that I’m confident I will not be getting much sleep in tonight, not with Sinful lurking about. Cian stands in the doorway, the backlight from the hallway casting deep shadows across his masterful cheekbones and graceful jawline. I’m not sure I will ever get sick of lookin

¬Amolet I let that information settle on my shoulders, the weight of it nearly pushing my head under the water. Part of me wants to burst out in laughter at the absurdity of the claim, but although Sinful looks amused, he’s not joking around. My smile falters on my lips. It seems like such a far away notion, something so ridiculous there is no point delving into what it could mean were it true. Yet for a moment, I just linger in the water, letting the cold fingers of dread wrap themselves around my throat, gripping tightly to the point I can hardly breathe.

¬Amolet The world artfully recreates itself around us the moment our feet touch the ground. It’s evident immediately that we are still in Sinful’s Territory, mountains surrounding us from every angle. We are in a small village however, cobblestone streets stretching out before us, little shops and homes littered about under the starlight, lights glittering magically. Surprisingly, people are walking around, unbothered by the majestic mountains that rear up toward the sky, their master dwelling atop one of them. Cian grasps my gloved hand, leading me down the street, following the path of pale moonlight that bathes stone. ¬Amolet I’m putting off getting out of bed this morning. I’m sure I’ve slept less than an hour, tossing and turning thinking about Cian and Lev. Eventually I decide I can’t just lay in bed for the rest of the day, and that I need to eventually face the world, even if I don’t want to. Muttering to myself, I drag myself from bed and numbly pull clothing over my limbs, hoping Cian will tell me we can just return back to where he will let me sleep all day. I’m sure if I asked him he would allow me to, but I don’t have the heart to ruin this mission anymore than I likely am. Cian is just being nice, keeping me safe, I don’t wan

¬Amolet I nearly topple over in shock. Not only is the fact that Cian is gone, nowhere to be seen, and I’m standing in a snowy labrinth absolutely terrifying, but I’m standing before Stace, who last time I checked, wants to lock me away from Cian for my own ‘safety’. And now he stands before me, looking like he is going to eat me alive. "You need to send me back,” I say immediately. I’m not sure how he got me here, away from Cian, but I need to go back. What if Cian is looking for me? As I turn to look over my shoulder, realising with horror that I’m atop a mountain, similar to Sinful’s, but everything below this cliff is

~Amolet I’m not sure what I expected, but this isn’t it. For a moment I’m so surprised, so taken aback I’m convinced Cian has taken me to the wrong place. We are on the edge of another mountain, however this one is capped with snow, and isn't surrounded by a wonderful view of distant villages dotted with sparkling lights. Instead, right below the rocky outcrop we stand on, is a massive ravine, gorged into the mountain leading all the way out to the horizon. Grabbing a hold of Cian’s arm tightly, I push away from the edge of the cliff, wary of the slipping rocks that scatter down into the jagged bottom of the ravine.
