Chapter 34

A day later, We arrived safe and sound back in Stella territory. Leo wanted me to stay in the hospital in the Russian pack for longer but I insisted that we made it back for Silas's birthday. I wasn't willing to miss any more of my children's life than I already had. When he was finished with his little rendezvous with the nurse,  Max was also eager to get back to his family- to be specific, his sister.

Author's Note

Introducing...Book three in the Alpha Loren series: The Kingdom of the Banished They say the course of true love never does run smooth. This year, Leonardo and I decided to take that to an extreme. It had been four years since I almost died in Russia and four years since I was last separated from him for more than a couple of days. That's almost a thousand and a half days, the arrival of two more children and a whole lot of ordinary, chaotic peace. Chaotic peace. The sort of unexpected peace one gets whilst raising eight very active children in one house. But all that came to a swift end when Leo's past came back to bite us all in the arse. Any sense of order and normality was thrown up in the air and everything I thought to be true was questioned. People I thought I'd lost long ago were suddenly right in front of me and a shadowy side of my mate that I could never even imagine was revealed.&

Chapter 1

Four years later, "Mama?" Cato asked as we walked through the forest in the direction of the school. My twins, Francesca and Marie, who were now five years old, walked ahead of us hand in hand skipping and Mathias and Silas were trailing behind having their favourite conversation about dinosaurs...again. I also had my youngest daughter, Lili, holding my hand, the latest member to the Loren family at only four months, Stefano, in a sling across my front and his older brother by one year, Zacharius, in the stroller.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2After ten minutes or so, I came to the conclusion that the blood was not coming out of my top. It didn't bother me in the slightest though. I was just about to make my way back inside when a scream erupted. It wasn't a baby's scream and nor was it coming from Jack and Lola's house. I instantly got to my feet and pricked my ears only to hear another and another and then a whole flood of chaos and panic.

Chapter 3

Chapter 3When I cam back onto the street of the village, the carnage was still unfolding. Men, women and children lay on the floor, maybe alive, maybe not. For a short while, I stood dumbstruck, unsure what to do. The adrenaline was still pumping through my veins but the shock of what had just happened was beginning to sink in. Before I had the chance to follow just one of the many screams, I felt tightening in my lungs. Then a sting and then a horrific burning sensation. I slunk behind a house trying to control the fits of coughing but nothing seemed to bring it any relief. There were others around me coughing too; they must have put something in the air. It irritated my eyes and combined with the smoke from the fires made it difficult to

Chapter 4

I next opened my eyes to the light of dawn. I was in a room with stone walls and a wooden floor with great huge windows letting in the morning rays. The bed was high and comfortably with four posts and a wide selection of pillows and cushions. I felt the soft silk covers between my fingers and furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at the room. It was strange. Everything felt completely alien yet weirdly familiar at the same time. I'd read every book on the shelf, seen every painting on the wall before and I even felt some kind of connection to

Chapter 5

Chapter 5Minutes later, I heard to sets of footsteps marching hastily towards the door. Then it flung open and there in the arch stood the only and only Nicolos Jones a.k.a Dad. "Dad?" I asked tears already accumulating in my eyes. He hadn't changed a bit. The same friendly eyes and soft, warm feat

Connor stayed for a bit. We tried to talk about anything but the planned uprising and Leo, however, it was hard to avoid it. Like ignoring a herd of elephants in the room. Eventually, he had some kind of duty thing and I was left all alone. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't glad. The past thirteen years of my life had just been regurgitated in front of me and the father I thought to be dead was now planning to kill my mate and destroy my pack. I had to have some time to make sense of it all if that was even possible.

Chapter 7

I was lead through the castle hallways for what felt like miles, up and down staircases, through archways and down corridors, until finally, we reached a double large wooden door. It was about 5 metres wide and 5 metres tall and intricately carved with elegant designs. One of the guards knocked and a few moments later the doors opened to reveal a huge room. The ceilings stretched up forever and great chandeliers hung with a hundred individual candles. There was little furniture except for one large throne and the far end. On it sat a youn

Chapter 8

A week later I was still trapped in this God forbidden castle. I desperately missed Leo and all the kids and was beginning to get awfully bored. I'd thought long and hard about a way to escape but it is with my deepest regret to inform you that they well and truly had every possible option covered. Every window was welded shut, every door was bolted more than three times and after escape attempt number 1, the secret passageway had been sealed along with every other yet to be discovered exit route in the castle. There are times in life when it's justifiable to sit around and wait for a man to save you and unfortunately, this was one of them. The only foreseeable way to get home was if Leo somehow located me. Considering that I didn't even have a single clue where I was, I wasn't holding out much hope for that. This was my life now.
