Chapter 6
Connor stayed for a bit. We tried to talk about anything but the planned uprising and Leo, however, it was hard to avoid it. Like ignoring a herd of elephants in the room.
Eventually, he had some kind of duty thing and I was left all alone. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't glad. The past thirteen years of my life had just been regurgitated in front of me and the father I thought to be dead was now planning to kill my mate and destroy my pack. I had to have some time to make sense of it all if that was even possible.

A week later I was still trapped in this God forbidden castle. I desperately missed Leo and all the kids and was beginning to get awfully bored. I'd thought long and hard about a way to escape but it is with my deepest regret to inform you that they well and truly had every possible option covered. Every window was welded shut, every door was bolted more than three times and after escape attempt number 1, the secret passageway had been sealed along with every other yet to be discovered exit route in the castle. There are times in life when it's justifiable to sit around and wait for a man to save you and unfortunately, this was one of them. The only foreseeable way to get home was if Leo somehow located me. Considering that I didn't even have a single clue where I was, I wasn't holding out much hope for that. This was my life now.

Only minutes later, I was sat in a silent cell with no source of light other than a burning torch on the wall of the hallway. The back and side walls were constructed from sturdy stone whilst the front was cage-like metal bars with a padlocked and chained door. On the other side of the bars was a singular guard stood up straight and staring straight forward."So what did my mate do to you?" I asked him hours later when I was at a point of boredom in which I was willing to talk about anything that would entice him into speaking. The other cells around me were empty meaning he was my only company.

Max's Point of View"I have a lead," I announced marching into the Alpha's office at the base and slamming an envelope down on his desk.His head, which had been staring down at the same set of papers and photos that had been there all day, suddenly shot up to reveal a set of agitated but tired eyes.

"Urghh."I opened my eyes to see the straw of the cell and groaned at how much everything ached from sleeping on such a hard floor. The ball had gone on until way beyond midnight and I had spent the majority of those hours dancing with the King. Obviously, it was he that had insisted on it and I that had been forced to begrudgingly go along with it.

The room Connor had locked me in was small and from the view from the tiny window, I could tell it was very high up. There was no furniture, only a few wooden boxes covered with white sheets.About twenty minutes later, I could hear violence unfold outside. Roars and shouts and cries. My hands were shaking for my pack's sake and everyone in it I loved that I knew would be fighting. Leo, Luca, Blair, Max, Mateo, Marco, Carlos, Lenny. Even Antonio but most of all Leo.
