“Thank you, Kei. Yes, yes, I’ll take my rest. No, Cross didn’t do anything to me. Yes, I’m safe. Goodness, mom, is this you? Okay, okay. Thank you again, I’ll return to work tomorrow, I promise.”Ronan ended the call and for a moment he appreciated hearing his friend Kei’s voice over the phone. Even for that short moment, he felt calm from all the chaos happening inside his mind.And now he is back again from wanting to skin himself alive.

“This is Ronan Olwen. Rescued two weeks ago in their old house. It has been said in the investigation that his mother was killed by her current lover then. Her body was still in the house when they found this young boy.”Ronan didn’t have the courage to look up to whoever these people were talking about. He doesn’t even know why he is here and who these people are—he didn’t ask to be taken away because all he wanted to end his life. That was what his mother would have wanted and he was more willing to do that. Coming from a young child that he is, he knows no one would believe him if he told them that.

“This is not the main mansion of the family but starting today, you are going to live here. The main mansion, of course, is occupied by your father’s legal family and I but you are not to see him anytime you would expect to because they are in China.”Ronan does not know what to say nor does not know if he is allowed to talk at all. There is an ache inside of him when this woman mentioned his father. He wanted to cry, he wanted to mad. It is his father they are talking about and yet it is getting more obvious to him that his father might have not cared to him at all.

Ronan woke up later than he should because judging by how bright their room already is, he would not be surprised if it’s already lunch time. His whole body is aching and saying he is sore would be an understatement of the day. His whole-body hurts but at least he knew it was because he was fucked good.Sitting up, he immediately noticed the pills and the bottle of water on the bedside table. There was even a note saying “Drink Me” and he is sure it was from Cross. Drinking the meds, he looks around for any sign of that man.Speaking of the devil, Cross could not be seen anywhere.
