❝You only get one call. ❞   He nodded to his warden and dialed the number. The phone rang four times before someone picked up. A woman answered, her frail voice gave away her old age and she was talking to someone in the background.

    "Seven! Is that you?!" He heard his mother's voice coming from the kitchen. A beautiful aroma of freshly cooked vegetables and chicken filled the house, but he wasn't focused on his hunger. He was mainly heartbroken that Remi treated him like she did. Out of all the fights he's been in, no punch or bullet hurted more than that.   "Yeah, ma! It's me!"

    She slid off her heels after rested her body on the couch. She sat up and stretched her back, causing it to crack in the process.She crossed her legs and turned the television on with the remote that sat on the table. She flipped through every channel before stopping on an old movie probably from the nineties or eighties.

    He dragged his feet as he made his way to the bus stop. A familiar car pulled up.    "Bro, you need a ride?" Dario stuck his head out of the driver's side window. "You going to the wedding?"    "No. I'm going home."
