Endless Flames: X

“To think you’d abandon your blade,” Asherah chuckled as she stared into the eyes of the man she had once revered above everyone and everything else. Looking at her foot which had been blocked by Old Fan’s forearm, Asherah was reminded once more how much his fighting style had changed. The indomitable warrior who neither retreated nor surrendered was now an old man capable of giving up his blade to stop an attack. This was surreal coming from the man who had taught her that to abandon one’s weapon was the greatest disgrace of a swordsman.“Well, I grew up,” Old Fan chuckled, secretly surprised by the strength contained in that kick. His arm had taken the brunt of the blow and though it was protected by a high grade gauntlet, his bones were creaking and his arm was shaking.“I must have gotten really old,” he concluded, for while Asherah had an unusual amount of strength for an Elemental – no, a weakened Wind Demon – she should not have been enough to shake him so.“Well, since you cou

Endless Flames: XI

As though two meteors had crashed into each other, the skies shook and the ground gave way as the earth was made desolate. Pathfinder and the others who were embroiled in their own battles could not help but stop to retreat, for if they stayed as they were, they would be caught up in the storm.“Destiny,” Red Rose called out to her friend and partner, and the latter nodded his head and replied, “I know.”The two retreated hastily, abandoning the Blood King that was ridden with many holes. The Blood King’s eyes shone brightly as it attempted to chase after them, but before it could take another step the ground underneath its feet gave way, and it was sucked into the abyss.“To think that we are not the highlight of today’s events,” Red Rose could not help but marvel at the scene she was witnessing.“Primogenitor,” Pathfinder landed next to the two who had come way before he had, his eyes glued to the energy storm that was turning the entire world upside down. His heart which had been f

Asura Asherah

Asherah stared at Old fan coldly, her eyes completely devoid of the respect that she had been showing him all this while. He may have betrayed her and hurt her deeply with his actions, but even then her respect for him remained. Even if he stabbed a dagger through her chest, her respect for him will still remain. She may not agree with his methods or his current goals, but he was still someone who had taught her the way of the sword. He was her only master, and a man she had looked up to as a father figure. His large heart had opened up to her even though there was no reason to serve the race of his enemy. That was enough to keep her eyes glistering with respect for him for all eternity, even if that respect was not as broad as it was before; yet, with just one statement, Asherah’s respect for him had been pushed down into the depths of hell – burned and suppressed; never to rise up again.“Do you know what you are asking for? Do you understand what you are requesting of me?” Asherah’

Death

Old Fan was knocked backwards as a tremendous force travelled through his arms. Even with Durandal and Caliburn crossed before him, the power that had crashed into him was not easy to control.“That was just a palm?” Old Fan thought in surprise, staring at the transformed Asherah who was slowly withdrawing her palm. Indeed, she had merely thrown a palm at Old Fan. She had met her swords with her flesh, yet her skin remained in good condition and there was not a single injury to be found.“No wonder Pazuzu wanted her so badly. With this level of physical capability, the greatest weakness of Wind Demons can be voided. If he is able to mate with her, he can create a species of the same level as the strongest God Clans there are.” Old Fan sighed, comprehending fully Pazuzu’s obsession with Asherah.Asura was an ancient power with no origins or clear understanding. All what Old Fan knew was that it had suddenly appeared in the world one day. Just as the gods and goddesses appeared suddenly

Return

“That old fool!” Chief Priest Kaka gnarled in rage when he saw Asherah clutching onto Old Fan’s corpse. The golden goose he had been hoping to reap many benefits from had died to a mere Wind Demon of Asherah’s calibre. There was no pain and remorse seeing the death of a lifelong friend. All Chief Priest Kaka felt was anger and disappointment. Anger that Old Fan had died earlier than he thought he would, and disappointment that he hadn’t died to the great general or to the king, but to a mere Wind Demon whose only redeeming factor was the king’s interest in her. His sentiments meant that he had no idea what Asherah’s secret was; for if he had known she was an Asura, his greed for her would have gone beyond anything else, and he would have accepted Old Fan’s death as the work of a powerful being.“Get away from him,” Chief Priest Kaka gnashed his teeth as he moved towards Asherah’s position. If Old Fan was dead and could not be made use of as a living being, then Chief Priest Kaka would

Will: I

There were phenomena that shook the world, and those that did not, just like there were those born to lead the world and those born to follow. General Samoa was both of these things. He was a man born to lead the Wind Demons, but destined to follow the rule of one who was the king of all the Wind Demons. Such a man had been lost in a time of war protecting his liege, losing his memories and sense of self; but he was awake now, and the world recognized him for it.*Boom*The skies screeched in pain as a presence greater than the feeble attempt of the Wind Demon King that led to his current slumber, descended upon the world. The man who was lying silently on the floor stood up, his hair fluttering in the wind and his skin regaining its glossy colour. The paleness that was characteristic of the Undead was swiftly replaced by redness, and the eyes that had been unfocussed all this while were closed; and when those eyelids fluttered open, time ceased for just a moment.*Cackle*The laughte

Will: II

Though the torrential power that had been displayed in his awakening had calmed down the moment he opened his eyes, General Samoa was more dangerous than ever. The greed and mistrust that filled those eyes a couple of years ago was absent, and there was nothing but clarity in those orbs; however, deep within those eyes – hidden by the fog of reason that was visible to all – was a madness that was truly reflective of the heart of the general. His madness was only for his king, and those who were subject to his wrath were those who caused his king pain. When he awakened it wasn’t the child that he had in his ‘sleep’ that he was worried about, neither was it the wife he had married in that period. He cared little for those two; they meant nothing to him. All that mattered was his king and his king’s current state. The energy that whirled around his king was the energy of his own kin, meaning that Asherah was the one responsible for his current slumber. While he didn’t know how she had do

Will: III

With a wild dash Asherah in her Asura form appeared before General Samoa. Her speed was like that of a freight train. It wasn’t silent nor was it hidden. It was a furious dash that reminiscent of a raging tiger, and the ground she moved upon was shattered by her great power. The eyes of the Asura who stared at the Demon General were cold and un-calculating. There was no plan in those eyes, neither was there a strategy being cooked up by that mind. There was only terror and power. The arm of the Asura was pulled back fully, and the power gathered in it was much greater than what was contained in those legs that had shattered the ground and birthed a hole wide enough to be filled by a lake. Edict gathered like a faithful servant around that lean arm, and the roar of beast that could consume the heavens accompanied her strike.“Impressive,” General Samoa was awed by the magnificent creature he was facing, acknowledging that this was a beast that even he would struggle against. He didn’t

Will: IV

*Boom*Asherah’s fist smashed into the wind barrier that surrounded the Demon General. The barrier was several meters thick, but Asherah’s fist found no issue piercing through it. Geneal Samoa roared loudly and called forth the wind elements. The winds grew turbulent and the earth cracked underneath the weight of his aura. In less than a second several swords were formed from the wind. There were at least a hundred swords, and each sword exuded the might of a high-grade weapon. As if that was not enough, General Samoa growled loudly and drew out more of his power, causing his bloodline power to churn strongly and pushing it towards another evolution. The results of his efforts was the formation of other weapons made of wind. There were different types of sharp blades, but the most common weapons were axes and spears, the latter numbering more than the former. Now, General Samoa had summoned at least a thousand weapons!“Go!” the Demon General roared and pushed his hand towards Asherah

We Must Go

The Dragon King’s eyes travelled to the west. From there he could sense power greater than anything he had ever felt before. His eyes stung from merely looking in the direction.“The entire city is shaking, even with the barrier protecting us,” the Dragon King mumbled as he grasped the arm of his trembling chair. Komfo Anokye had repaired the barrier around the Citadel on Mane’s request. It was stronger and better than it had been before, so it should not be easily breached; yet even with the power of Basileus, the tremors were travelling all the way here. He didn’t need anyone to tell him that other cities were most likely devastated by now.“Whatever is going on there, I hope it ends quickly,” the Dragon King sighed and sank into his trembling throne. The chair he sat on was a perfect reflection of his innermost feelings right now, for he was indeed afraid. When he was young, there was nothing that he feared, but as he grew older, the number of things that he had to protect grew lar
